An update on this statement:
They posted what they wanted to say in the Internal forums. (The ones you guys can't see)
There's a chance it might be getting released today or tomorrow, but I hope to god not. The draft they showed us was utterly offensive (at least to me) and said none of the things we flat out told them we expected to see. It was generic and wishy-washy.
I (and I believe Hans) urged them not to post it without tweaking it, because it was an utter steaming pile. So... we'll see what comes of it. |

Frankly, at this point in time I'd say let them release what they wrote - at least we'd get a proper view of how CCP views it's playerbase in Dust. Now they will only think of doing PR stunts, but their behaviour will be still the same as it was/is. |

How much time does CCP need to get basic simple stuff like this right? Even remotely right? Just right enough not to have to be told that it's not good enough even by the people they picked to be player representatives? I can't understand any of this. That makes me sad. |

You and me both, Django. Anyways, the latest is that after Nova and I had our words on the matter, CCP Dolan added some more to the statement, and the CPM is mostly satisfied at this point. It's as good as its ever going to be as far as I'm personally concerned, and I told Dolan to go ahead and throw up what he has. That doesn't mean I know when it'll be posted...he may still need more sign-offs on the stuff he added. And I at least give Dolan credit for hearing us out and jumping in and making it stronger.

Also....just be prepared that anything that's been delayed this long is going to feel anticlimatic one way or another. The longer time anything takes in the making, the more one expects to go into it....and the more it lets you down even if it serves its intended purpose. This statement is no exception, though they are words that need to be said nonetheless. |

I (and I believe Hans) urged them not to post it without tweaking it, because it was an utter steaming pile. So... we'll see what comes of it. If that's the case then I expect that it would be in CCP's best interest to revise their internal view of their player base. Many of us also play Eve Online and I would be interested to know if they want our money and support or actually want to just make a game for themselves to play in their office where no one is watching or paying them any money to develop. |

I read the statement - it still feels kind of generic - or did I miss some kind of roadmap... it's good that they say they want to improve things but I don't see an action plan or anything - or was this not the intended point of the statement? |

Its been the opposite - we went from a slow drip, to drinking from a firehose. I'll try to get a brief rundown of all the meetings we've had up shortly, even if they're devoid of all the commentary I embellished previous reports with. (otherwise it would be insane length, one I dont have time for.)
Stuff not going on is most certainly not the problem though. We're at almost a meeting a week (instead of one every couple of months) and half of the content of them has had to do with future planning, which makes them difficult to report on at this time. This isn't even including all the 1 vs 1 Skype calls I've had recently on top of the group meetings. Even some of the stuff that the CPM is encouraging CCP to think about isn't as easy as the stuff I've previously had no problem writing about, because its tied to plans that aren't finalized enough for anyone (us or CCP) to comment on yet.
I'm just overwhelmed atm, if you want to put this in simplest of terms. I hit a wall where I was sick of not having anything to talk about, now I have too much to talk about, and half of that I can't, and sorting it all out is a colossal migraine-inducing mess. It's a stressful (mostly in a good way) time for us right now, CCP Rouge is in Shanghai now and beginning to do his work.
That's what I've not been saying anything or promising new blogs, because I don't know how or when I'll be able to give you what I've given you before in terms of insight. I'll try to focus on getting just the bare bones sorted out and posted at least, so you can see we're not doing nothing at all, if nothing else.
Communication from CCP about the future will also likely disappointing for a while until much of this is sorted out, I won't sugarcoat that either. For CCP Rouge to successfully lead Dust in the right direction, a lot of major stuff will need to change (this shouldn't surprise anyone, we've been saying that for years). But CCP has also had a problem in the past of talking about future plans without doing due diligence about how long that will take, and the lack of realistic pespective has frustrated many in the community. The good news is that CCP Rouge gets that, and will likely not share his plans for Dust's future until they are solid and deliverable - the bad news is that its not going to happen as quickly as everyone is thirsty for.

That's great news, HJ, sounds promising all around. Many peeps on the forum have forgotten or don't know how aggressive a developer CCP is, because all they've seen from CCP so far is them digging themselves out of a hole of their own making.
As far as no instant gratification in terms of the new information you CPM peeps are getting, i will suppress my inner 3-year-old with a few solid beatings, and lay the moral burden for those beatings at the feet of the CPM. You monsters ;)
