We all know EVE and DUST were down for the better part of yesterday and this morning due to a DDoS attack on CCP.
While I'm sure we all appreciate CCP's valiant and sleepless efforts to overcome this, we must also acknowledge both games were down.

I think we, as a community, should be compensated for this loss.
I think every DUST mercenary should be awarded 18 WP and 36 SP. In addition we should all be granted exclusive BPOs to jet placeholders similar to the following.

18 WP and 36 SP should cover our losses.

After reading the amount of SP you suggest, i must say no. 36 SP is clearly too much, for it'll allow me access to upgrade a skill from level 1 to level 3, instead of me upgrading from level 1 to level 2 because i was lacking 36 SP. So yes, i support this.

I had a long sit down about these figures and my calculations ran across quite a few whiteboards. These seemed to make the most sense.

I think 36 is way too low. 42 is a far better number.

While I think we can all appreciate the invaluable powers hidden in '42', I think such a high value would unbalance DUST as we know it and give an unfair advantage to veterans over new players.
I stand by my original request for 36 SP.

less than 24 hours without the possibility to play, it's not that much, they will reimburse passive sp, but this is not a compensation, it's a normal thing.

I think 10WP and 20SP are more than sufficient. There's no legitimate reason why we should get as much compensation as the OP suggests.

And they shouldn't give us a new BPO, they should upgrade our current free LAVs to be the new Speeders that are coming.

I agree with my educated friend here. It is easy to see how you got to 8 WP and 8 SP through the errors in your left pane step.
I suggest you go back to a clean whiteboard.

While these calculations do indeed add dimensions of compensation I did not take into consideration, they do not seem to change the final outcome.
Even after putting all my numbers through your grueling formulas I still get 18 WP and 36 SP as the most beneficial compensation amount for everyone.

3x SP week would only make the gap between beta players and future new-bros even worse... the current batch of new-bros would benefit, but then they would simply be joining the ranks of OP players stomping the new-bros who come after the 3x sp week...

I'm am sorry my dear forum friend, but your logic is inadequate.

Let me explain this again.
I'll start by reminding of the fact that the long downtime period lasted an entire night and half a day. Using those figures in the following formula it is clearly evident that 18 WP are the ideal number for a partial compensation. As is clearly evident, this is only a partial compensation for our torment.
Taking the above 18 WP figure and running it through the following fuzzy logic algorithm we quite easily arrive at a figure of 36 SP as the second part of our well deserved compensation.

What still remains is the good will gesture from CCP. This, through very exhausting balancing exercises performed throughout the night, could only be achieved by allowing us access to the future jet in the form of a placeholder as I described in my original post.

I can only suggest the following.

1. We will get the proposed and irrefutable 18 WP and 36 SP.
2. We will get the jet placeholder as per the provided image.
3. In addition we should all join an in-game channel with the name of '42'.
