I just don't think ccp know whst to do with dust anymore the reaction to Templar event has been very bad. And I know a lot of the Sony communty members were very unimpressed. I mean who's bright idea was it to PROMOTE the game with gimped character that deven experienced players where struggleing with. I'm tossing up deleting dust today but I don't want to throw away my character on the off chance Ccp changes dust leadership and some good choices start getting made |

I really think they should be a year ahead of us in SP and be packing BPO's of some serious officer rare gear - other wise what's the fun in killing them or being one?
What a thankless job. An honor to be chosen? At random?!?
Wang used the word "We" in referring to those who didn't want the Templar to be OP. Who is this "We"? The fun police? |

the characters are saved on CCPs servers, not your PS3, so deleting the game only means you have to download it at a later date.
i was calling that the 100 sony community players wouldnt have a good time as soon as i saw that they made the promo deal with sony(originally it was slated for all 300 templars to be DUST players), an experienced DUST player could make use of 2m SP only due to familiarity with the game mechanics... a new-bro whos never had any experience with DUST probably made a lot of the same rookie mistakes with their 2m SP that the beta players did when we respeced in uprising... not to mention being severely unerwhelming compared to any players who got in on the open beta, especially triple sp week.... lets bring in new players, and give them a taste of what it feels like to get thrown to the wolves... no academy battles to get a BIT of familiarity, no comparable gear to compete with the experienced players(even if given proto gear, an experienced standard suit would probably be able to take them still), oh and by the way, lets try to make them victims of everyone elses aggression when they see em.
were they given any sort of briefing on how to play? were they given any sort of 'hey before you jump into battle...'? were they given any support beyond the 2m sp vs 500k new character? someone said 1-100 were the sony community players, and some of them seemed like they were giving it an honest effort here on the forums, but i dont know for certain which templars were dusties and which werent, if there was even a sensical division or if they were all just alphabetical by PSN ID |

I knew what I was getting into so no big deal but it would have been nice to have had more sp. if it had been more like:
Day 1 - start with 5 mil SP and required to play 15 games in a STD suit with militia BPOs earn 25000 SP you then qualify for Day 2 - gain an additional 5 mil SP and required to play 15 games in a ADV suit with ADV BPOs earn 25000 SP you then qualify for Day 3 - gain an additional 10 mil SP and required to play 15 games in a Proto suit with Officer BPOs earn 25000 SP
Rewards for killing Templars
Day 1 - kill 3 and get 2.5 mil Isk Day 2 - kill 5 and get 5 mil Isk Day 3 - kill 10 and get 10 mil Isk
Kill 50 Templars over the event and get anniversary Manhunter ADV suit (10 copies)
For the Templars play 45 games and get anniversary Templar 1, limited edition version, suit (10 copies)
Also monitor the Templars to make sure they are not abusing the position.
I think this set up would have made it more interesting for everyone involved and given new players a chance on day 1 and 2 and everybody a real challenge on Day 3. |
