dark souls here, but yes... afk farmed my weekly skill cap and im out like a fat kid in dodgeball, trolling the forums or something more fun than getting stomped because i screwed up with my SP allocation at the start of this new build... |

The TACS still take out my 1200 HP Sentinel before I can say "kitten me" So your complaint is that your "carry me" 10 million SP/gear build is less OP then you want it do be.... Cry a river scrub. LoL I was being playful about it not crying. I have actually enjoyed the event so far. Sounds like someone has a sore bum.. Let me guess you are one of those SKILLED L33T TAC users. Sorry I made ya cry sweety. /hug I don't even understand what you wrote. My main has nowhere near 10 million SP and my Sentinel Templar has 1200 hp from shield and the sp i spent on armor plates and core skills. The Templar toons got 2 million sp to play with not 10 million. If they would have gave more people would complained they were OP. If they gave less people would complained they were to weak and the event was a fail. It appears the majority of the populace here are children. Shouldn't you check and make sure your mommy washed some clean clothes for ya tomorrow? LoL @ CHU there should have been more of you guys, and they should have given you more SP, and more stuff. templars should have had at least 10 mil SP. its a short event, that tells a story and its a manhunt. everyone just ganged up on the templars, and alot of templars were complaining. they were even committing suicide! and in public areas no less! the audacity!
idk if i would have thrown 10m SP at them, to get a full loadout on a proto suit, at least my logistics suits, i only need 8m. but thats only 1 proto mod, 1 proto equip, and some adv mods to fill out the rest of my slots without over extending PG/CPU. but at the same time, enough skills to do a full proto loadout so they wouldnt just be completely gimped would have been the nice thing to do. but that is assuming the challenge was meant to be in getting the kills rather than simply finding a templar to gank. though from the RP perspective, first gen clones should have SP to reflect practical combat experience beyond the average player... should have been strong enough to hold their own against the Empire and the hunters they are being pursued by... BUT CCP didnt want to 'give' people OP characters for an event... that are to be deleted at the end of the event... |

After about 5-10 games I was able to buy All the Skill Books I needed to use my 2 million SP.
What this Templar event really showed me is that even at 2 million Total SP, a player can still be competitive and ISK gains per match vs my ISK death cost are growing for me. Meaning I Profit ISK wise after each match.
I used to think it would take around 4-5 million Total SP after the May 14 launch because of all the new pre-reqs but that is not the case anymore.
there still is a considerable gap though between the beta players with 6m+ sp and proper SP builds and new players or even 2m SP players...
with 2m SP you could get a full ADV loadout on an adv basic frame or a basic advanced suit, but that still leaves the sizable gap between you and proto-bears... if the SP req to get a single proto mod werent 900k and some change each, maybe 2m sp wouldnt be such a big deal... but when gear is such a huge advantage, 2m SP just leaves you underwhelming... |

ive never looked at heavy build, but im going to take a wager that you prettymuch suck until that 4m SP your quoting too dont they?
lets see, lvl3 heavy frame, lvl5 weaponry, what other major drawbacks are there for specing straight into heavies that im missing? and many of my heavy-bros refuse to run sentinel suits due to the drastically altered slot loadouts they get from the heavy frames, specially when we needed lvl5 frame to get to the adv tier of suits before they fixed that...
but ive never run heavy this build, i foolishly fell for the Amarr Logi trap day 1... and have been stuck in the land of underwhelming awaiting a respec.... |

^^this. its not too late they should keep the same templars and give them the 10mil SP (to make them slightly better), the additional resistance and shielding, and basically make them OP because they are deleted at the end of the event and it is a manhunt. everyone is after them in addition i agree 100% "from the RP perspective, first gen clones should have SP to reflect practical combat experience beyond the average player... should have been strong enough to hold their own against the Empire and the hunters they are being pursued by... (so) CCP (should) 'give' people OP characters for an event... that are to be deleted at the end of the event.." i know i change 2 words, but the point is the same
but you changed 4 words lol.
and its kinda too late to fix the templar manslaughter... changing it now would be excessive work on CCPs end, as well as simply make the s**tstorm of hate and discontent worse...
they should let this event finish running its course, and use the feedback provided towards the next event.
as for frivelocity, its one thing to be a random pub-match blueberry with 2m SP, and a completely different animal to be a primary target event member with 2m SP... i get tired enough gettin protostomped as a blueberry with +25% shield and armor on my militia suits, i wasnt about to put forth an effort to sign up to be a templar. |

Templars are being paid with 900 proto suits to participate. Play, die or not, you get paid. Stop whining
templar suits were going to be standard versions of the 3x advanced suits i thought, being 300x amarr standard assault, 300x amarr standard logistics, and 300x amarr standard sentinel... unless they changed it in the last 2 days, or they changed what the 10 year anniversary pack coming in october had for templar suits...
can you get a source where they said they were going to be proto suits? |

STD.
thats what i thought, but i also thought the event rewards were standard suit limited run sets of the same bpos coming with the anniversary pack... but ive been known to be wrong before, so thanks |

steadyhand amarr wrote:I just don't think ccp know whst to do with dust anymore the reaction to Templar event has been very bad. And I know a lot of the Sony communty members were very unimpressed. I mean who's bright idea was it to PROMOTE the game with gimped character that deven experienced players where struggleing with. I'm tossing up deleting dust today but I don't want to throw away my character on the off chance Ccp changes dust leadership and some good choices start getting made
the characters are saved on CCPs servers, not your PS3, so deleting the game only means you have to download it at a later date.
i was calling that the 100 sony community players wouldnt have a good time as soon as i saw that they made the promo deal with sony(originally it was slated for all 300 templars to be DUST players), an experienced DUST player could make use of 2m SP only due to familiarity with the game mechanics... a new-bro whos never had any experience with DUST probably made a lot of the same rookie mistakes with their 2m SP that the beta players did when we respeced in uprising... not to mention being severely unerwhelming compared to any players who got in on the open beta, especially triple sp week.... lets bring in new players, and give them a taste of what it feels like to get thrown to the wolves... no academy battles to get a BIT of familiarity, no comparable gear to compete with the experienced players(even if given proto gear, an experienced standard suit would probably be able to take them still), oh and by the way, lets try to make them victims of everyone elses aggression when they see em.
were they given any sort of briefing on how to play? were they given any sort of 'hey before you jump into battle...'? were they given any support beyond the 2m sp vs 500k new character? someone said 1-100 were the sony community players, and some of them seemed like they were giving it an honest effort here on the forums, but i dont know for certain which templars were dusties and which werent, if there was even a sensical division or if they were all just alphabetical by PSN ID |
