I've noticed a whole squad of templars committing suicide in the MCC. What a waste. These people should have their free gear stripped and new templars should be selected. |

25% won't even be on, 25% will play them just long enough to get the free stuff. 25% will QSYNC with their corp to get everyone them all some cash. Then go back to their main. 15% will cheat and self kill 10% will actually play normally |

CCP should have never made this a random selection. Select corps, and THEN hand pick players from the pool. Giving noobs and trolls this? Yea, that makes sense CCP. |

But selecting corps would cause outcries of favoritism, and rightly so. Probably shoulda done background checks of the players they chose, and maybe bumped the number to 700 Templars (about 1/10th of the playerbase). Have yet to see a Templar, and I don't think I will see one the entire event :l |

I was also under the impression that the templars were going to get the SPs needed to actually play the game. Seems that CCP thinks that skills in a skill point based shooter don't matter though.

Templars suiciding during matches instead of playing won't get the bonuses for being a Templar.
You need 20K WP to get the suits...and you can't get any from suiciding.
I've played...10 or so games on my Templar character, and have 7K WP (Thanks noob gear vs Proto gear!). Its going to take a LONG time to get to 20K.
EDIT: And just for the jealousy factor...there are 22 (maybe 23) Templars from my corporation |

Favoritism? So give people who did nothing to make this game better, who never played the game for any amount of time, no beta testing, nothing! Only have 200 of this, and make it random. I watched that list, and I prob only recognize about 15-20 of the names on that list. The rest of the people there could have showed up out of the blue for free ****!
In cases like this favoritism HAS TO BE SHOWN. Give people who were loyal to the making of this game, not a bunch of noobs and nobodies for them to be MCC AFK, and jumping out the MCC to suicide. |

Unfortunately random selection will result in a cross section of the community good and bad.
But I will say this I am neither a troll or a noob and I have every intention to play this toon as much as RL will allow on Sunday and Monday as Saturday is now over for me. I even capped out my main just to make sure it doesn't interfere with the event.
The few Templars I have played with have been sharing war stories of players chasing them around the map ignoring the objectives and dropping OBs just to get one Templar. And yes some went on about taking out lots of protos.
The suits are surprisingly tough for STD. Even when I had no SP invested or modules installed I still managed to go 3/4 and I am no skilled FPS player. Once I can fit modules and move away from the SCR I think things will improve. I reckon the ADV and proto versions could be serious suits.
One final comment it takes more than 1 game to get outfitted as most of the early Isk goes on skill books. |

You get 3 STD Suits, 3 STD Weapons (LR, SCR and SC Pistol) and 1 STD Uplink. You have to purchase your own skill books and modules and you start with zero Isk.

Seen one occasion of qsyncing just so everyone from the corp could get the 2,5m. I don't know why organised proto corps would need that ISK so badly but hey. |

This is why I was so disappointed not to have been selected. I'm a huge Amarr fan, would have loved the opportunity to RP and an Amarri Templar and not bitched an moaned about the gear you get simply because I understood you are supposed to be RPing a faction based soldier gone rogue.
Sad thing about this event was that no one gets anything worth having.
2.5 Million ISK- to most players isn't worth jack ****
300 standard Amarr suits (that aren't even Templar suits?) This would have been the thing worth having, but since they aren't even the specialised Templaar suits you could go and buy 300 on the cheap. |

A reward is a reward...300 dropsuits taken from those who try to purge us is a good prize for the survivors; hopefully we can each use them to stake a claim outside of the Empire's borders and repel the hunters.
As for the other reward...those that would attempt to claim it should beware. We won't forget what you have done to us. |

The A/1 assault is what I use most Great Public match suits, definitely. Not nearly as expensive as Proto, but still do the job a lot better than Standard. |

after much testing we found the following ways to kill yourself.
cook nades, cook nades falling out the mcc, cook nades running at people, throw nades at the floor, run in front of them let them got lots of hits then cook a nade and make them watch that kill vanish in a puff of smoke.
jump out the mcc, jump out a dropship, jump off the top of really tall building
jump out of moving lav and let it run you over (this one is a bit tricky)
jump into acid pits (fastest way to do it)
over heat the SCR.
and before people complain no where in the event did it say we HAD to let you guys kill us :P but after asking around pretty much all the templars have been running around normally, just taking advantage of the fact we dont have to worry about our KD.
secondly bio-massing your Templar is just freaking stupid.
will post my event feedback later on tonight i want to go do other things now |

Well I was in the corp chat channel on voice while some of the Templars were doing the suicide jumping, I thought it was pathetic. People who were selected to be representatives during an event were being childish little pr*cks. Was very disappointing to listen too and see.
Although it was at most 1 squad lead by a whiney American lady. |

You are not supposed to be competitive, you are supposed to be killed (alot) so everyone can get the 2,5M ISK. Your job is to simply manage to get 20.000SP. "...play at least 20 public matches (other types of matches do not count) over the course of 3 days and earn total of 20.000 skill points in order to qualify for [300 Amarr Advanced A/1 Dropsuits] of all specializations (Assault, Sentinel and Logistics)."
How hard is that? Stop complaining and go play the game!

EDIT: And just for the jealousy factor...there are 22 (maybe 23) Templars from my corporation
Wrong. They can get points from suiciding by just keep reviving eachother. |
