I've revamped my spreadsheet with the latest data concerning the new skill tree changes that are in the works for 5/22. Vehicle skill changes have yet to be described but will be updated as they are rolled out. Enjoy.

For the newbros out there, this tool lets you put your skill points into different hypothetical progressions so that you can be sure of where you want to focus your point. Use it well. |

Actually I'd like some help if you could give some ideas. No reason not to combine projects and make a single tool that benefits the community the best it can.
We had a lot of people doing "Fitting Tools" or "Market Listings" and stuff. Reinventing the wheel. It seems a lot of things could be superior all around if we could just work together on a single project.
I would like your opinions on how to display certain skill effects though. But that is a discussion for the other thread. |

You might consider adding Drop-boxes for all your skill level items...
Right-click one box select 'Data Validation'
Choose "List of Items" and type "0,1,2,3,4,5" Select 'Reject Input' Select 'Display In-Cell button to show list" in Show Help you can add your own message... it works proper on my Office doc but is set to the default "FALSE" on GoogleDocs because I don't want to bother changing all of those currently... though I probably should if I intend on changing all the colors across the board.
ALSO! I like your usage of the total SP calculated up in the top amongst frozen rows... I should probably do the same. Seems very useful for at-a-glance total numbers. Well planned there. |

I notice you kept the Character Sheet > Skill List method of displaying everything.
I used the same originally but I find a collapsed node version is maybe easier to view initial skills and direct branches.
That's what I use though, and not trying to make your planner mine. If you were to look at the old sheet and yours it lines up directly which can be quite useful. Mine doesn't have that benefit for sure, but I wanted to keep up with the times and CCP's visual adjustments.
As for the specific tabs you might try aligning those in the same manner as the node-tree. It's a little hard to follow with things stair-stacked on top of each other.
I like that element though. Would have been good to think of actually SHOWING the node tree somewhere and then linking current skill and goal skill and required skill info from the top sheet into it... I'll have to think about that... some day. |

I'd been wondering (idly) about how to do that ever since I saw hydraslav's fitting tool, question answered.
As to the node progression....to make a really nice looking one would be really difficult in google spreadsheets. All the object tools are bulky and look terrible (so no arrows or lines). The step pattern was the next best thing that I could think of when I was making this sheet. I would like to switch to a nodal system in the list format but not nearly enough motivation to take that on right now. Just thinking about having to switch all the colors again gives me a headache.
Should I add empty rows between skills in my step node system? would that make it easier to view? Not sure where I would want to take that. |

To those who may be interested, I added a pre-req error/warning column for dropsuit related skills into the sheet. Same for the vehicle skills will be incoming later tomorrow (or I guess it would be today by now). I an staging this because it is finicky as hell (and damn tedious) and I'd rather get it right the first time.... |

Update: Pre-req warnings are fully integrated for all categories and linked to specific skill tabs/tree displays. Unless someone posts a really good suggestion the current version will stay the same for a while (or until CCP adds new stuff/changes the skills around)

Apparently I wasn't quite done innovating....thought of a really nice feature this afternoon. I added a column on the upper left side that allows you to filter down to only those skills you are currently using. Nifty right? I did have to delete the category totals column to do this though. If everyone really liked that feature I can add it back in on the top bar if need to, just let me know if that feature was actually useful.

Append: It's also not calculating future SP values together.
Fixed those two issues (somehow I major f***** up the total future sp calculation that was literally just Sum(Q1:Q1xx), amazingly all my other formulas work that end up being like 4 lines.....
All the rest of dropsuit upgrades and dropsuit command look right. The issue was I had the wrong pre-req in the specific skill tab and that's where I iterated from. Just replicated the problem to a more visible location. Regardless, thanks for the catch. |

Still doesn't seem to want to fully calculate future SP values... unless you use the quick level selector on the first page. Makes going into the different sections kind of moot. |

i have checked and triple checked as I wanted to see how much I need for future spend Hmmmm....one if you could post your skill set that would be useful. I have no way of checking those specific skills unless you do that and trying to recheck the entire set is a bit ridiculous. The easiest answer is to say that its likely a multiplier issue (I hope anyways, those are easy fixes) If it's not then I, again, need those skills and specific numbers even more.
I guess it's time to go bug hunting.... |

If you're like me and hate importing your skills over from a skill planning tool....
then you can replace your first character slot (cell E3) in the hydraslav's fitting tool with the formula [=importRange(E2,-¦Importskills-¦)] (without brackets of course) and then replace cell E2 with the key (in the URL from "key=" up to "&usp") to your copy of the skill planner. Or you could just input the key in the formula rather than referencing an adjacent cell.
There would be a way to implement a script of some sort so that it doesn't try and constantly update. Sadly, I do not have the skill set necessary to implement scripts...
Also, I'm not sure if this formula would transfer when the fitting tool gets updated. But all that being said, it's easy enough to just type the formula back in.
Functionality for this import has been added in version 1.67 |

So it's been a while since I updated this both due to RL stuff and because skill tree changes haven't happened in the latest updates.
Any requests for updates or features? Otherwise I'll let this sit for the time being until we get an update that adds/removes skills. |

They've added Amarr Commando skill in Uprising 1.3
Also, please add the following for me: "SkillsList" named range, identifies your column with all the skill names listed. "SkillsValues" named range, identifies your column with all the levels for the skills. Should be same size as previous one.
Even if you already have named ranges for those columns, you can make these ones overlapping them.
I will use that for import functions |

Those names have been added to the ranges in the fitting import/export tab. The way it's set up, the spacing should exactly match the spacing for your skills tab in the fitting sheet. This means you can directly copy/paste values between those two sheets. That tab shows the currently selected character (if you have more than one saved) and gives the values of both quick level select and tabbed level select in one column. If you'd rather have a different setup for those ranges toss me an email. I'm not usually this quick replying to the forums.
Thanks for reminding me about the Amarr Commando skill, I'll add that as soon as I get a chance to look at the skill list in game and make sure that I can match the position correctly. |

Updated for the Amarr Commando skill and added some technical changes to make certain portions of the sheet compatable with hydraslav's fitting tool. Hopefully I'll have some more work to do (aka more new dropsuits) coming in the next couple updates. I'll be more than happy to update when those come out.

KNOWN ISSUE in v1.69: Import script won't give the correct skill values from sheet v1.68;
Adding the commando skill added an extra row that isn't accounted for in 1.68, hence the shift in values when you load the new character. So, if you want to save your old skills and avoid re-entering everything....go into the saved character tab, add a new row between row 6 and 7 after importing your characters. That will make sure that your skills line up correctly.
Also, there was an issue of the load and save scripts not properly handling the weaponry skill after 1.69. This has been fixed as of now. (for those who are interested, also caused by adding an extra row of skills) |
