Currently the cap per week is 180k I believe. After which you only receive about 100 SP per battle, Even if you have an Active booster the most you will receive is 412 - 800 or so per battle.
You can go through that 180k in about 2-3 days of playing for about 4-6 hours a day. On the weekends when you play 6-8 hours a day, you can go through it in 1-2 days.
The cap needs to be somewhere in the range of 1 million or higher in order to balance with the individuals PAYING for 7 day boosters.
Otherwise they pay for 7 days (active booster) and only really get 3 days at most worth of bonus Per game SP. Meaning the other 4 days they paid for they get nothing and wasted their money. The same goes for 30 day Booster people who actually only receive about 12 days at most worth of bonus SP. Not 30 days.
This means the people who are paying for 30 days are getting ripped out of 18 days worth of Bonus SP per month where they get almost nothing per battle. |

If you don't want the booster for that many days only buy the smaller boosters...
You seem to have not noticed that the others exist.
I like the thirty day as i don't have to keep activating the things. also when i have time to grind out extra SP i just play ambush with a good group of guys and cram 1500 points a game...
CCP let the community vote on the SP system we chose this one... you should have been in earlier but sadly you weren't there to help choose. |

It's 1 wp=1-1.5 sp depending on active booster or not, goin up to 1000-1500. Everyone (other than you) doesn't complain about them, and think this why is a lot better than the last versions of caps. IMO the 1000wp game should be risen to 2000. Just feels better to me, as I pass 1500+ wp almost every game.

Here's something that will blow your mind. Buy the 7 day active booster, and activate it on Saturday. Bam, two weeks worth of active boost for the price of one.

Keep in mind passive per week is 168,000 per week, with booster 252,000. That is less than active, which is I believe 190,400 per week or with boosters 285,600. So you are actually getting more out of active boosters even if you hit the weekly cap early. And then you have a potential of 1000 per battle or 1500 with boosters.
Active boosters are still good if you have the time. If you increase the cap by a million then you might as well not even have a cap. The cap is there to prevent giving the player the sense that you need to grind to keep up. A weekly cap of over 1,000,000 is just not feasibly obtainable by most players. |

We voted on the SP system based on their old skill tree.
Now it's ridiculously low considering how high they raised the bar to attain skill levels as of uprising. Maybe that will be a moot point when they finally do the adjustment. But we shall see. |

As an on again off again player since closed beta with only 2 mil sp I never noticed the weekly cap. With release I though I'd give it a good go this weekend. After I messed up my sp allocation I wanted more sp to get what I really wanted, well that weekly sp cap came into play real quick. After a few hours Friday & Saturday the cap was passed and I was like is that it? Really? What other game has a cap on weekly sp? None that I've played.
If a person who rarely plays fps games can hit the cap in two days of casual play this is really wrong. I don't really see the need for a cap personally, if someone could give a good reason I'd love to hear it. What would it hurt if there was no cap? If someone wants to play 24/7 to get skills what's the big deal? Imagine the outrage if WoW did something like this.
With the matchmaking putting noobs with full proto guys why not remove the cap. Even if matchmaking is fixed to sort by skill what harm would no cap be? |

On official Release, I started playing Dust again after being away for over 3 Months from the BETA Test. Started a New Character cause I wanted to feel like I earnt my Points rather than having some from Testing. I ended up buying a 30 Day Active Booster and a 7 Day Passive Booster, but did not know there was a SP Cap until after I purchased it. If they are going to have a Cap, then the Booster should stop [or slow down atleast] during this Cap'd period.
Honestly though, I see no point why there should be a Cap on SP's.. It's like implementing a Cap on your SP's in Eve Online... I do not understand this "People with higher Skill Points have a advantage" cause atm I have 863,193 SP and seem to do very well in Battles, especially seeing though I am forced to use a Controller, which I am horrible in FPS Games because the K&M Controls are just no good at all in this game. |

Here's my frustration... as a new player who plays a couple hours every night, what am I supposed to do after I reach the cap? The first thing I did was shut off my Playstation to go do something else. If I'm not earning anything I might as well play something else or just ****-around in the game. There's no reason for a cap, especially since at this point I'm only going to be able to train one thing a week it seems, because I'm certainly not going to be able to achieve any decent number of SP.
SP should be based on how well and hard the user plays. Some people grind, others don't play as hard. Who knows, maybe a generous cap like 1,000,000 a week is a good idea. Maybe 500,000 or 750,000. I can somewhat agree with a cap, just not so low. It's incredibly frustrating playing this game for three days and having already met the cap. A generous cap would ensure that the hard-core grinders don't absolutely obliterate all the other players and force some strategic planning, but it's not going to be as damaging to the players who don't grind every day for 8 hours.
Those who don't grind have to be strategic with their SP because they're not going to earn as much because they don't grind as much. But those who grind, with a high cap, will still be forced to be strategic with a cap on.
I'm not a huge fan of a cap, but if you have to have one, do so strategically. At this point, I've shut off my Playstation and am planning on playing Dust every once in a while now, since the cap is so low. Unfortunately, though I absolutely love the game, that might make me stray away from it.
I just don't see the point in playing a game that I'm being penalized for playing too much. That's kind of driving me away. |

I support this thread , the SP Cap is too low , we still need a cap but CCP should increase the cap. It's ridiculous at the moment to increase anything.

It is sad that the cap can be reached in 2 days, 3 tops. That doesn't make me want to play more, that makes me want to find another game to play. Or go into cryogenic sleep for the rest of the week. |

If you play the game for the SP you gain you have the wrong attitude toward the game. I still play this game even when I reach the Cap because I love this game. Dust gameplay offer so much for entertaiment. It's not only about SP. But like I said I agree the cap is realy low.

The current cap is at 190,000 ish (lets just say 200,000). Approximately each skirmish game yields about 5000 sp. This results in approximately 40 games of skirmish; which is very easy to reach within one day (done it multiple times). I would prefer no cap but if that were to happen i wouldnt have an alt

either way, the sp cap is driving a lot of players to leave this game once they hit the cap and its all because everyone wanted to make this game "new player friendly" new, no game is new player friendly, they need to increase the cap or more people will leave because they aren't being rewarded for playing a long time. |

Agreed. It's a great game, but again, I don't want to be punished for playing it a lot. Don't we want people to play the game a lot?
Another suggestion may be some sort of per-game cap? But that may be a difficult one to determine. |

Skill gains are supposed to be slow.
The rollover would help this though. Perhaps in 1.2 |

Personally, I'd prefer a max cap based on what SP could have been earned over the lifetime of the whole game by hitting the base cap every week. |

I don't care for a rollover system, just let me play the game and earn SP for the work I'm putting in to my player :/
I'm going to end up wearing this out, but as a player I shouldn't be punished for playing the game too much. That's just silly... Make it hard to earn them; that's fine. But don't make it nearly impossible to earn them once you think I've "played the game enough for one week." That's ridiculous. |

Buy a 1 day booster in the weekends.

Believe it or not, 1000 wp is 1000 sp after cap. With booster that would be 1500. It adds up.
I only recommend doing the grind if you really like this game. On that note, The Last of Us recently came out. |

It's fine. It's supposed to take a long time to skill up in Dust. there should never come a point where you have no skills to train.
Also, activate a 7 day booster on Saturday or Sunday, not Wednesday, then you will get your full 7 days worth. |
