What's the point?
You'll overheat and die at short range, lasers fill the role at mid range and gallente tac rifles have more range than them. Overheat castrates the weapon and the tac doesn't have this drawback
Wasnt the more specialized damage and time to charge enough to balance this weapon? It didn't need a higher mag size, it does it no justice when you can only get 7 rounds off, and with the current state of aiming good luck hitting them.
However, my opinion might be tainted by the current iWin nature of the Tac. Hopefully when it gets toned down this weapon might have a place. |

Four words: Charged scrambler rifle headshot.
That alone makes this weapon worth it: Approach corner, charge weapon, spot enemy, release button, +50 WP, smile. |

It needs to be able to fire more shots before it overheats.....the assault variant needs more damage and needs to overheat after 30 shots |

I don't think you quite understood what I said. If the words "charged scrambler rifle headshot" don't make you smile then there must simply be no joy in your life. |

actually from what i seen the assault variant has almost no kick i think thats a pretty fair trade for any lack of damage it might have |

I'm so confused where these 7's and 9's are coming from. I tried and tested the semi-auto Scrambler Rifle several times and I'm firing 15 before overheating. |

I'm getting similar. 17 shots to overheat while firing as fast as I could. |

This is charging initial ( If you don't you may as well use a Tac AR) and firing the rest rapidly.
I suppose the actual gripe is the lack of role. Apart from the charge there is no reason to use it, and even then you can live without it. |

Overheating hasn't been an issue, for me. If you're overheating you're doing it wrong. Firing insanely after the charged shot is stupid, to be honest. Use it when you know you can take someone out. firing wildly afterwards isn't going to do anything for you. |

The only thing I think is wrong is that there is no skill which allows you to shoot more without overheating (which I agree isn't much of a problem but still).
I've seen people pwn countless others with the basic scrambler so I know it works. |

I believe the Amarr Assault DS overheat bonus extends to the SR. There's a thread about it in General Discussion. |

Useless as long as TARs are the way they are. Charge variant overheats too easily, and Auto variant doesn't overheat enough.
With that said, they both pretty much obsolete LRs, since unlike those, you can actually SEE what you're aiming at. |

So far it hasn't made the LR obsolete, for me. I still use it and can see. |

Then what, sit there like an idiot and let that guy you just shot know he's been compromised? The gun is a joke, and talk tactics with it all you want the gun is castrated compared to ARs.
Do you see Tac users having to time their shots? Oh, I was going to kill someone but this little red bar says I can't shoot. No, they get it done and get the kill. |

the charged SR fires LESS shots than the pistol has per reload before overheating. cooling down takes also long as reloading the pistol if I am not mistaken. what is the point of the charged SR it again?
might aswell take the TAR and pistol as sidearm getting best of all. |

Change the "charge time" passive to Heat Build-up reduction, and you've got a bonus that is good for both weapon variants (that doesn't require a specific dropsuit skill). |
