Maybe it's just me but doesn't the server message imply a respec for all? Doesn't say on the 14th, but it does imply that all will have the option to respec without petitioning. |

All will get the SP refunded that is no longer needed for certain skills, since some skills are lowering their multiplier. But if you want to respec you need to submit a ticket, which is available to everyone. Server message is pretty clear. |

I understand that they are changing some skill multipliers and we will be refunded any excess SP from those skills. You say the server message is pretty clear huh? And not in contradiction to what was said in the relative thread from CCP?
Here is exactly what the server message currently says.
"Dear players, after a few initial days of uprising and your constructive feedback. We will be performing changes to the existing skill progression system, provide you with optional skill reallocation, and continue working on improving stability and performance issues. For full details regarding upcoming changes to uprising, please visit announcements section over at http://forums.dust514.com/"
To me this implies the respec will be an available option for all regardless of petitioning.
I've been saving my SP for Scrambler rifles on an Alt, wish I would've known there would be another optional respec and I could've been using decent AR's instead of jacking around with a damn militia on an ADV Ammar Med. |

CCP didn't even know they were going to do another optional respec when Uprising launched on May 6th. They probably thought that was the last one until they got the rest of the heavies and lights in the game. We're only getting another respec so soon because enough people complained that 10x for specialized suits is way too darn much. |

This respec will not happen on the 14th. They are planning on revamping the skill tree and reducing the skill costs of things, etc. and that probably won't be out until a little later in the month. That is will the optional respec will be available. Players who don't opt in but trained skills which had their modifiers reduced will simply be refunded ONLY the difference in skillpoints resulting from the changed skills costing less SP.
Once the skill tree is updated, you'll be able to send an email to asking for the respec.
Either way, people are going to have a ton of spare SP on that day. That day just won't be the 14th. |

BMSTUBBY wrote:[Based on your feedback we will be doing further adjustments to skill point requirements for specializations, which received a massive rework in Uprising along with the new node based visualization of the tech tree. Our plan is to address this by tweaking skill point requirements GÇô and in that process reimburse you with the skill points that youGÇÖve spent back to your unused skill pool. Additionally, we are planning an optional skill point respec of skill points to players via petitioning our game masters after this change occurs, in case some of you may not be completely satisfied with your original choices. We also believe that this will solve some dropsuit requirements that were changed in Uprising, giving you easier access to those items again.
to me sounds like we aint getting jack for our sever/raven/valor suits but we're given a respec in order to skill into those suits instead of ccp refunding the item to but somehting else. personally i think there should be a sever/raven/valor themed suit for all races so we can get the paintjob/bpo for the suit despite our race choices. admittedly am a bit pissed i paid 20k aurum each for raven and sever suits back when i could use em but atm i'm concentrating on gallente as the suits offer the skill bonus i require and i'd like to get my aurum back or at least a trade for a sever gallente logi and raven gallente assault. it'd probs be the easiest way out of it |

The optional respec happening, say, two weeks after the game launches is not a bad idea for them. Let's assume that tomorrow there is an influx of people (personally, I don't but it but let's assume) joining the game. It gives them two weeks to putz around and realize how the game works. After that, they can use the respec option that will be available.
Honestly, a respec option that can be utilized ONCE within a three week period of starting your account would be a great edition. Gives new players a chance to see how the game works without royally screwing themselves. 3 weeks amounts to 1,075,200 SP (not counting the starting 500k) if they cap out. Making it have to be done within 3 weeks of the account starts stops vets from abusing it as a vet would already know what they want to do and doesn't mean that new players have a free respec over vets.
Be well. |
