I'm hearing people all over the place assume it's coming on May 14th. But to quote for the horses mouth,
Quote:Many of these issues will be addressed via hotfixes before the 14th, and throughout the month of May. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=75594&find=unread
Maybe this will stay on the first page long enough for people to see and not start raging if it doesn't happen exactly on May 14th. |

I'm just saying it's stupid for them not to allow players a fresh start on launch day. Not everybody who wants a respec does so because they're upset with the current skill system. Well you should also then realize that they were never planning to have this optional respec, but since several people are upset with the changes to the skill system they are giving it to everyone. So if you are not upset with the skill system but want a respec you are lucking out. |

So release the game with the issue still at hand?
Release was already planned long before this second respec was decided upon. Guess they don't really think it's a big enough issue to delay the official release for. But then again what exactly does it mean for Dust to officially release? It's been released since it went open beta in January, this is just more of a ceremonial thing than a traditional game release.

So to keep this on first page for awhile for others to see and prevent more raging tomorrow, lets throw a bit of discussion in. What do you think they will lower the specialized suit multiplier to? Right now it is basically a 16x skill (6x from basic, 10x from specialization).
If I recall they wanted to bring it back down similar to Chromosome levels, so what if the 10x became a 4x? That would make it like a 10x skill (6x + 4x) which is pretty similar to the 8x from Chromosome. I wouldn't find it conflicting that the specializatin is a cheaper skill than the general frame since that is already a prerequisite. I mean, it takes on average 4 years to get an undergraduate degree but only an additional 2 to get a Masters.
So yeah, I'm going to place my guess at making it a combined 10x skill, but that may be pushing it. |

Deadeye Dic wrote:My understanding is, and I might be wrong, is that CCP is only going to give back the SP difference once they adjust the skill trees. IE if you spent 500 SP in a skill before the fix and it now costs 400 SP for the same skill, then you'll get a 100 SP refund. Yes, that is what is going to happen for everyone automatically. However, if you submit a ticket you will get a 100% refund of everything like on May 6th. |

Another Heavy SOB wrote:Maybe it's just me but doesn't the server message imply a respec for all? Doesn't say on the 14th, but it does imply that all will have the option to respec without petitioning. All will get the SP refunded that is no longer needed for certain skills, since some skills are lowering their multiplier. But if you want to respec you need to submit a ticket, which is available to everyone. Server message is pretty clear. |

CCP didn't even know they were going to do another optional respec when Uprising launched on May 6th. They probably thought that was the last one until they got the rest of the heavies and lights in the game. We're only getting another respec so soon because enough people complained that 10x for specialized suits is way too darn much. |
