I always wanted this game for PC and was annoyed when i saw it was a PS3 game, GFX and controller sucks and mouse is broken for balance.
Please port the game to PC so i can play with full HD 1080 resolution and a proper RAW input mouse, thanks. |

"Never" is a little more negative than I'd be, but as the poster above me said, it's not going to happen any time in the near future. I'm pretty sure they actually have an exclusive contract with Sony right now. |

I never understood the idea that there was a chasm of a difference between an EVE player and a console player, though I did get into EVE at a pre-teen age so maybe I am little off base. |

Ah, bad wording on my part. I likely should have said "I do not believe the group of EVE/PC players are that different from console players."
I likely jumped the gun on that one. I apologize; I just have seen too many "us vs. them" when it comes to console and PC players.
Be well. |

If that is a possible reading of my post, it was not my intent. "EVE Players" was not meant to exclude the possibility of gamers who play EVE and DUST. The point of the post was that, while there will be crossover, we are two distinct communities who will share New Eden. |

I would love to see dust on PC. Especially if i could run a custom key mapping so i could set up multiple shortcut keys. If they really want marketshare steam would be a great way to go. Funny would be if this went over to the wii :) If eve went ftp i would pick it up again but i really did hate how much time i had to sink in training skills. |

I don't think this game will live long on consoles, not only is it on ps3 which will soon be replaced by the ps4 (why make a next gen game on a last gen 10 year old system that looks and plays crap?) console players will just go to the next COD or BF when its released, i just can't see the console casual gamers putting the effort or time into this game in the long run.
The fact they dont want there actual fan base to play the game disgusts me, as an eve player who loves the lore of the eve universe i wanted this game on PC, eve is a smallish fan base already so they should have respected their loyal customers and made them an epic next gen mmofps and if it did utilize current PC tech it would look and feel amazing and be far far bigger on scale if even not open world like Planetside 2.
I know I've complained a lot about the poor gfx quality but i think tbh what really annoys me about the game on console is the controls, like when you watch the you tube vids you see people strafing and missing 90% of their shots because trying to aim with controller or analogue emulated mouse is terrible, if the game on ps3 had raw mouse input and 1080 id be perfectly happy. |

I'm sure it would be cheaper to make it on PC as they would not have to deal with SONY and they could get far more loyal EVE players playing the game, and people prefer fps games on PC due to many reasons. and CCP would get more cut from the sale son their item shop not having to give a chunk of it away to Sony. |

And what makes you think it won't be ported to PS4? Final Fantasy XI (the MMO) ran on PS2, PC, and Xbox 360 simultaneously, there's no reason they couldn't do something similar with Dust 514.

I don't think casual console gamers will put in effort or time into this game upon seeing the fitting screen. This isn't a casual game. It doesn't appeal to that crowd, and it never will.

Putting Dust 514 on PC would have been a terrible business decision. It would have split their fanbase in two, since PC gamers interested in the EVE universe either already play EVE or can't run it. Putting it on consoles, however, grows the fanbase, since console gamers otherwise never could have played a game set in the EVE universe.
As for why it's not also on PC, it's a well-known fact that aiming with a mouse is FAR easier than with a controller. Making it for PS3 and PC and putting them both on the same server (which they'd HAVE to do) would kill off the PS3 fanbase, since no one likes playing against people with an "unfair" advantage (PC mouse users).
The current situation (PS3 [or consoles] only) is the best situation in the long run for both EVE Online and Dust 514.

FF11 was ported yet but i played it on the xbox 360 and then PC, but i dont think the gfx were updated much from PS2 to XBOX so if they did bring this out for PS4 i think it would still be using 720 ress and the same textures.
They would not really be splitting their pc eve playerbase would they? i play eve yet try to play dust, its just making it unfair to people who love eve but cant afford a PS3, they love the eve universe just as much as me but dont have the chance to play it and thats not right on CCP's part.
if play the game on PC or PS3 im still going to be playing one or the other, so there no reason it cant be on pc, and imagine dust 514 like planetside 2 with the scale, 2000 man battles and gfx quality, it would be the best game ever.

They will, eventually.
Sooner or later, they'll port it over to the PC. Guaranteed.
You really think they're going to announce a PC version while they're still under an exclusivity contract with Sony? The _MOMENT_ that contract is up, I bet CCP will announce they've already got a PC version in development and it'll signal them phasing out the PS3 version.
At the same time they'll probably move it over to PS4. Of course they're not going to say anything regarding any other platform, even speculatively, while under contract from Sony lest they risk all sorts of legal crap thrown their way. |

EVE has survived 10 years. This is integrated into EVE. You think they'll like working on a part of the game that after 2 years no one will play? Dust will move platforms to stay modern. Promise you.

1. Dust will be moved to the ps4 when it comes out. this game will be continuously updated like eve.
2. they are looking for new customers not those already loyal to eve.
I personally prefer my ps3 and its controller to the more uncomfortable computer set up.

Console gamers without a PC have not played eve for 10 years and grown into the lore and community tho have they, so it snot really invalid my point holds true. the console gamers have no idea what eve even was before dust, and most prob still dont... but the eve players do. |

Insta turning is more real life realistic so i will always prefer mouse for a shooter, you know how long it takes a soldier in real life to do a 180 spin? far far less that in dust and far more accurate, stand up now and see how fast you can turn then aim as a point... |

2. Porting it to the PC would make it unfair for console players who love the EVE universe but can't afford a PC. Your argument is invalid. PC users already have EVE. Give it to the people who don't Console gamers without a PC have not played eve for 10 years and grown into the lore and community tho have they, so it snot really invalid my point holds true. the console gamers have no idea what eve even was before dust, and most prob still dont... but the eve players do. I don't know if this holds true for other people, but even though I have been a console player for as long as I can remember, I have always loved EVE and its concept and lore. I read the books, watched the youtube videos, and kept up with all the happenings on the website. So when CCP announced there would be an expansion of EVE coming to the PS3 without all the spreadsheets and BS, I was ecstatic. So next time you stereotype us console players, do some god damn research
Stop making false excuses, the fact you call eve spreadsheet BS shows you are no eve fan obviously. A console gamer who does not go on a pc for anything other than facebook is not going to be a super eve fan then call it BS is he? stop trying to make false claims please.
Sorry but the way you spoke to me makes me wonder if you have ever read the Chronicles, books or taken any interest in eve other than think of it as COD with a market. |
