I think I am finally close enough to hit 'em, I swing hit nothing but air and I get shot in the face by a backward running assault because they here,mr miss the swing. I have done it though, usually it is pure luck after mashing the button. We need to stop having to stop and pause before swinging. I can still go positive more often than not, though, it feels like it is way more luck based than skill based. I.E. I get at least 1-2 kills a game by mashing the R1 button when I get behind a group. There needs to be away to hit people you are chasing down, without having to wait for them to slowdon/stop. I am using the Minmatar scoit scout with a kinetic catalyzer and Ishukone Nova Knives.
Novas would be OP if we could sprint with them charged. They're pretty much perfect as they are. |

If they have their backs to me 50/50 chance, if they are facing me 25/75 chance; when they see me jump it is,easy for them to change direction.
Good trick, though, far from being a true solution. |

Novas would be OP if we could sprint with them charged. They're pretty much perfect as they are. Did I ever say I wanted to charge up while sprinting? I'll answer that one; no I didn't. I know it would be OP, so I am equally against it. On that note, I feel that we should have an increase in speed while attacking. Now here me out. Currently even if you just tap the R1 button, you still go into a walking pace WHILE attacking. I feel we should maintain our running speed while attackin, BUT AFTERWARDS, we go to a walking pace.
Another idea would be to give us the same aim assist while knifing as we get with the regular R3 melee. |

Some knife dude got me and a blueberry the other day with an amazing flying leap. We had just finished hacking a turret and had our backs against it. He was trying to be sneaky, but I turned around too soon and he had to jump at us to close the gap. He ended up getting two kills in one flurry with no health left. |

Strongly arguing against i love you guys ( no homo... well maybe a little light cuddle with my knifes but thats it)) Haha, na a bother bud. Much as last build I thought they should be allowed properly rather than through a bug to sprint while charged, this build I think they're perfect. Uncharged you can run in and slice and dice staright away, and if you get a chance during that or beforehand you can charge up and make fillets They remind me alot of the vibro blades from the Mechwarrior/Battletech universe. I've really enjoyed the charge mechanic used by ninja scouts creeping up behind me as I'm tearing someone apart with the HMG, and just as I'm about to finish them I get shanked in the back only then realising what the slight hum from behind me was from.
Sha Charn Clone also made me respect what a fast moving scout with Nova knives can do with a bit more of a frontal assault. I'd only be bringing my gun to bear on him as he was racing up getting in my face and..... well you can guess the rest. Him sprinting off leaving a previously 1000+ hp heavy lying on the ground as something for the drones to clean up, already sectioned for easy removal |

Your Doing it wrong. @insidiousN nova knifes do not need to be able to run with a charge because i think ive got the real calculations off these CCP decided that the base damage is uncharged fully charge off of my experience is not double but 3x so my ishakones be4 skills and mods do 600 damage a swing that on itself could be considered Op but you give them the ability to sprint with a charge and they become op. CCP do not listen to these blasphemers you have given me my dream do not shatter it with these wanna b knifers complaining they cant sprint with a charge i love them the way they are.
After a long convo and some hunting last night with radar I am anti charge sprint.
However we all need to petition for officer knives radar will be posting this up in the feedback/request forums.

I just posted my feedback on this on the Feedback/Request forums. I agree that maybe the sprint-with-charge idea will probably just make the knives OP. Besides, knowing how CCP tends to over nerf things when something is declared to be OP, I would prefer they stay the way they are right now. |

What if holding a charge increased your profile signature? Would you still be against charged sprinting? |

Ninja knifers strive on stealth and will likely just hold off on charging until they are dangerously close to you.
EDIT: They also emit a buzzing sound that can be heard by your enemies. |

Wouldny matter because the only reason I would charge sprint is if im running at the head on or they are running away from me. Either way thwy already know where I am. |

With the STD and ADV knives, you sometimes have to stalk someone for half the map because just a tiny burst of sprint would put them out of your knife range. Also their back peddling is often an issue. Even though you can use modules to change your sprint speed, there's no way to increase your normal non sprint forward speed. |

Well that was my point exactly. If nova knives increased you scan profile, scouts wouldn't sprint with them fully charged and would wait until the last moment possible to start the charge. And depending on how long the charge up time is, could give the enemy enough time to react. Though after thinking through a few things I am leaning more against this idea. What if someone I'm not targeting sees my blimp on the radar as I kill someone with the charged knives? That defeats the whole purpose of knife kills.

Oh I know, last build I only had standard nova knives and the build up was quite a hindrance. But that should be a benefit the prototypes have and make you really want them if you are going with a strictly stealth stabber fitting. I know once I get a respec for my main I am going to get nova knives operation of to 5 before I do anything else just to make sure I don't accidentally run out.
