WTF! Why did they touch the radius, how the hell am I supposed to hit multiple targets if the radius is only 3.1m with the radious range skills maxed out.
Like yes maybe the damage nerf was called for, but seriously? The splash damage nerf is ridiculous. |

they did a splash and damage nerf to the MD as well?? well it scared and angered AR assaults, never mind that it was one of the easiest guns to take down, so it had to be nerfed. God ccp needs to stop getting its numbers from pub matches, ******* didn't matter how viable a gun was against any smart player , BB would ******* do the exact wrong thing, they would practically stick the barrel up their buthole for you causeing your K/D to go thru the roof on a weapon that would net you a negative KD in corp matches. |

The range did get a bit crazy on the top level mass drivers before, bu they might have taken it a bit far. I'll reserve judgement for bit when I see top level mass drivers in action. |

They did totally fix the leaf sights, so you can ADS now and be a whole lot more accurate if you want to. I was hitting dropships midflight yesterday. They were heavily shielded, but still....
A point someone else made was that this won't be so bad when FF is on. |

..if the area is the space between wall and railing on that set of stairs by B in that one map, or maybe if you land a grenade on an objective an enemy is trying to capture without a grenade hitting a friendly or geometry on the way or if you eat a hand-grenade from 35+ meter distance while also surviving assault rifles |

In PC, your corporation will be pulling out the elite. And if they have practiced with the MD, they will know how to use it. How? Fire a full clip into the enemy position, and then support your team with the repper and injector.
If you're not a logi? Fire the clip, place a nanohive and reload, allow your team to have a brief skirmish with the enemy, and when they disengage, fire in more.
Obviously not all situations will be ideal like the ones above, but now the risk of splashing damage onto your teammates whilst they're engaged with the enemy significantly decreases, whilst the splash grows significantly per tier of MD (level 5 MD operation + freedom MD = 6m splash) that by the time you're at proto level, you'll have the skill necessary to prevent team killing. |

Really doesn't make sense from a numbers perspective, as nobody was running away with MD kills last build. For friendly fire, breach style variants with tighter splash and higher direct damage already cover that.
Either the other changes in Uprising exposed a major advantage to Drivers as they were, or someone bashed their fists on the keyboard and accidentally rewrote the Mass Driver spec file. |

Im lvl 5 in operation and Proficiency with Complex DMG mods.. and I can tell you I wasted 6mill SP's because this is no longer a viable build.. PERIOD |

I am disappointed they got nerf'd but I still enjoy the MD and it is taking some relearning but its still effective in my opinion. |

oh and btw, now you have to aim better instead of aiming at the general direction of a squad and collecting kills without effort.

Call me pedantic, but there is no period in Dust. With no 'final' build the wasted SP could convert to very much unwasted SP at any moment, and at a point where people have chosen paths, blown all their SP, and can't just spec overnight into the skills you've invested in.
Chill out, do your best, wait for the comeback tour. |

115 hp of splash damage? A damage that is reduced against shields, in a build where finding suits with 500+ shields is going to be common?
What area denial? They are not going to even feel it. You may get kills against standard and militia suits, but forget about anything else. |

I'm all for adapt or die, I totally get it..
MD has some new issues now, with the smaller blast it is more important to place the shots better the flight line appears to be mostly the same, but the visual trail in the new graphics, is less obvious. the smokey blast is less..and still (IMO) not exactly aligned with the boom. Now if you make a kill sometimes the body just disappears...Did he run away? Did he start to circle behind me?
Jack, the MD players of last build would happily blast a stupid crowd of suits, you're right now we can't...but everyone else can still spray and pray with 4 kills worth of damage in a mag.
Sounds like you were a MD nurfer in the recent past, was that because we dominated the kill boards? Did you hate watching that round flying flying flying..sip a coke..flying at you waiting to blow? Did it really **** you off when you rounded a corner and the MD guy suicided because he was too close to you and you didn't get the kill? Were you mad that your showdowns took 4 seconds longer because the MD fella had to reload, but of course he carries a nanohive (because he must). have you had MD teammates ***** you out because you walked in front of him when he was shootin and he died?
See we know how to adapt or die, We always knew we had a finicky weapon. I'm not all that worked up about going to pro5 and not being able to get a positive K/D I kinda like SG and this is a beta, but MD was fun, predicting were someone would be 3 seconds from now, lining up to get 2 people..all of that was cool..maybe I can have that again..we'll see, but ...
So far the blast radius was just a bit too much |

Might as well be using Assault since you're required to use Flux Nades anyway. At least you get extended pressure and can hit people around corners with it.

If they were nerfed, I've not seen anything about it in the patch notes at all--like they mentioned about the HMG and other weapons.
I've used them in the last 2 builds and they were/are my weapon of choice, but I have to admit that yesterday my Cyclone MD did seem a bit impotent compared to what I remember it being in the past. I wrote it off on it being me adjusting to the new build, but after hearing from some of y'all, I'm starting to wonder if my 'splosions have been stifled intentionally.

Im been using MD for past few months after I found out about reset. The dmg on the freedom went from 270 to 240 and yah they messed with the splash radius but I stil was getting 10 kills a match with it last night. Granted im caldari logi with 600 shields but I was still going atleast 5.0-10.0 KD in my matchs. Its definetly not as good as it was but none of the weapons are. AR users are freaking out more then we are so im not worried. We will see what happens in the next few months im sure they will tweak with ranges and dmgs for al weapon types as it becomes apparent people arent happy or like the new style of play. Play smart gl and kill some redberries. |

Just posting this so people can see just how big MD users were nerfed. Freedom and Boundless are pretty much Standard Mass Driver and Assault without operation boosts from the last build as far as Splash and Splash damage goes. |

I did not claim to dominate or even be above average.
I do claim to have been able to splash a moving target at 40m. I no longer seem to have that ability kiddo. not your fault but now my opponents can jump over my damage, stop running and my targeting lead prevents them from taking damage, basically unless i figure out some trick I have zero chance in a 1-1.
Poop happens, its a beta, but at this point it looks like too much a change. (that said if CCP knee jerks and changes anything without more than a week of research they're fools)
So quit your personal assaults on what you think our abilities are and help us figure out how to compensate or go gloat on your favorite I love SG AR FG LR |
