for the love of god it was under powered as **** last build, the only reason it ever got kills was because people threw them selfs at it and then wondered why they died.
im ok with the range nerf but damage needed an increase not a decrease. |

In case you kids haven't notice, ALL WEAPONS HAVE BEEN NERFED, except for the Tactical AR's that have a little boost.
Stop complaining about you favorite weapon no been OP anymore. Personally i think CCP got the Balance spot on this time. I hope they just focus in Bugs now, and ignore all the spoiled brats in this forum. |

Nearly the entire Dust community is pulling its hair over this. The "numbers" are going to show that a lot of guys spec'd into their role, tried to play, and got shat on while rolling their proto gear. Anything less of HMG proto is a joke. These guys can't find a balance between cost/effectiveness for Jesus if he asked.
The nerf was way over the top.

I generally think all the weapons are in a good spot now. But of all the nerfs, the HMG is the only "over-nerf". |

Well I do remember in the Codex build I think it was??
When they cut our RPM down to 1500 and the damage was 16/17/17.6 and they had to buff up our RPM because we barely had any extra DPS over an assault rifle, those where the days when I used to use a Gek..... (shudders) now our damage is 14/15/15.6
I think now we have about 466.6 DPS compared to the old 533.3 DPS so rounding off the small points thats a reduction of 12.5%
Now if my memory serves does a std Assault rifle have 31 dmg and 750 rpm (sorry if I got this wrong)
So Std Assault rifle DPS would be 387.5 DPS so we have a 17% higher damage output assuming all rounds connect and ignoring all damage reductions given shield/armour bonuses.
So we still have an edge but it's getting thin especially with the range nerf on top of the removal of SS.
Personally to compensate I have changed my loadout and tactics drastically but we could use a little something back considering we got no new gear. |

In all seriousness though the HMG is about as useful as spraying doo doo butter at your enemies. They get annoyed, and when they get tired of it they turn around and AR you to death.

the problem is your #s are based on firing an HMG at a target and ALL bullets hitting... which has NEVER been an accurate statement.
lots of spray when firing an HMG, now the range is down to nothing, rather than some sort of balance in comparison to all other weapons on the field killing you.
I can even generalize.. aside from the TAC AR and snipers, the maps that we have been playing forever now are utterly useless for combat with the ranges in this game now.
You are standing on the pipes. I am directly below you. You can stand there and murder me. I can stand there, shoot 425 bullets right at your face, and not even ding your shields...
sure it took you 2 clips to take me down with all my HP, but who cares? you didn't get touched by my gun, and stood on the pipes laughing at me the entire time thinking I have no aim cause I didn't even scratch your shields...

I have enjoyed playing as a heavy from the beginning of this game. I'm not sure what the numbers can tell you about enjoyment levels. Listen to the people who have given you detailed feedback.
It is no longer enjoyable to use the hmg the range is way to low to be effective, spending most of the match stationary or running real slow to the next fight only to die before getting in optimal range. Lots of work = not fun.
Changing the base damage means if I do get close enough to someone to shoot it takes dang near every shot in my gun with proficiency five to take someone down. I reload twice as much, and am gimped for the next fight. If I was somehow able to kill someone it is usually with help someone else's help and I only got an assist for my efforts. = more reloading less kills = not so much fun.
Not sure what else has happened but my overall view of the LIne of View has decreased increasing my blind spots of people shooting me from outside of my spacial awareness. Which really doesn't matter cause they are out if my range to fire back anyway, can't run away because well im fat, can't turn and fire at them to hopefully scare them off cause well I cant see them. Besides they would giggle at my marsh mellow firing hmg and still put me down= not so much fun.
Decreasing the staife ability of the heavy on top of the above mentioned means that what is supposed to be my optimal kill range which is now 15-29 m at best. We are back to the hopping Scott/assault and even logie. For what ever reason with my settings to a 100 I can get out straifed in my "close combat kill zone role". I thought we get rid of this a few builds ago. So now that my damage is gone I can't protect myself from bugs bunny logie! This is extremely no fun= can't run away from them can't turn fast enough to track them, can't shoot enough damage to kill them= no fun.
I think that the numbers may not reflect the sum of all the changes made at once please forget the numbers and listen to the players! It is not fun or enjoyable to play the HMG. How will you track the numbers when there is less players using the hmg? |

well cost compared to the AR for the suit and gun they might find it balanced, take all the parts to this in consideration, they are a talented group and can work out this problem. |

They wont see any numbers from me until they fix it. I played yesterday, read the forum and can't spend any of my points in there knowing all this will probably change (or not). I have lost faith it is going to in the good direction. Also, how can I train in heavy dropsuit when there is only 1 variant, the Amarr armor type...can't waste SP there either.
Range is messed up all across. I understand some gun use plasma ammo which "dissapear" in the air. How does the old school HMG bullet just dissapear at 15 meters, it's just fell wrong. Give me crazy kickback and 50m range instead, so I would fell like handling a big gun that can actually shoot something else than rubber pellets... It shoot bullets at 15 meters....I can throw a grenade further with my hands.
15 meters, that is a little longer than a school bus lol. I would draw something up to show what is in my head, quite funny They forgot to add the gunpowder in the bullets I guess .
I don't want to play the AR at all, but the rest seems useless from what I read here on the forum... Laser are slow MD have no more splash HMG no range Shotgun nova knife range Swarm launcher...tried the militia on a DS and I loled hard.
Pistol looks strong still SMG, not sure. Forge gun look like before, just not sure about the splash, if changed or not.
Might go forge gun route with a militia suit until they bring the other races. Idk.
Can someone list the new ranges (approx. ) for each weapon type without trolling it and DPS?

Pre uprising all I played was heavy.
Last night I tested the waters with the free AV fit and changed the pistol to the toxin SMG and changed out the low slots with free armor BPO's. In game, I saw a full health heavy coming my way and waited around a corner for him. When he rounded the corner we started to dance. I strafed and dodged with my SMG, right through is pepper spray HMG. I aimed for his head and he fell dead... to a free suit with a militia SMG. I was slivered, but won the fight, that should not have happened. Please note, I have yet to distribute my SP... so I had no SP bonuses. If I ran a shotti his death would have been quicker.
After that encounter and reading everything on the forums, I don't think I'll speck into heavy again. I'll give it a go with a cheap heavy fit and see... but not expecting much. The heavy seamed like he was stuck in mud and his HMG rained BB's, they stung but did not kill. I could not imagine what it would be like for an uprising heavy going up against any shield tanked proto suit...
I will not be specking into the heavy until things change. |

I canGÇÖt see myself playing any other class, other than HEAVY. I was thinking of logistics but canGÇÖt stand the yellow, needs to be toned down a bit add more blacks to it. I ended up buying aurum heavy drop suit and unlocked HMG. It wasnGÇÖt ideal but I noticed the AR also didnGÇÖt have their range also. There was an instance that someone basically ran at me dead on. I lay on my HMG trigger, thinking easy kill about chest level was able to go thru his shields and half his armor, before my death. I felt so much of a pushover that it made it all sad. The damage nerf was unnecessary, since it looks like body placement on bullets is high in effect. If I aim to the head I kill people in few clicks, aim below that you most get tickled. I didnGÇÖt want to go in AMAR but the benefit of the kick back per level going to have to give that a try. I am going 9/3 7/2 after I skilled more into the HMG. I have to see later on how it works out for me. Why does a boundless HMG do 1more damage than a HMG?
ItGÇÖs going to take lots of tactics to get into firing range of the enemies which will require lots of help of your squad providing cover fire. I did adjust to 100 on sensitivity and turned aim assist off. Also pick your regions server that might help on lag. Longest Kill was on the 37+ range so maybe after dispersion upgrades might do a little better.
This thing with precision aiming needs to go away with the HMG. ItGÇÖs an HMG it has an accuracy of 50% I think. The HMG is made to just be fired and free, prior to update when you saw the bullets fire it will fill the whole circle now it seems the bullets have a smaller circumference. |

NOW for newberts starting out in the game, they will ultimately get pwnd. Its almost not worth speccing heavy unless you have good amount of SP already. (~6mil sp). As a 1012eHP PROTObear, I am already having some trouble keeping up with top end assualt/logi players in advanced suits. There is no incentive for newbies to play heavy currently, without a CCP hotfix that will never come, the heavy population will plummet.
This game is a hard game to commit to with all its current trouble and bugs, but ultimately needs a bigger player base so that CCP wont be so desperate to empty our wallets and might be able to budget a bigger/better team for development. NOOBS are super frustrating, but are necessary for our beloved game to thrive.
Nonetheless we are ultimately gambling that this game with be amazing 6months-1yr down the road. So really, ENOUGH QQ MORE PEW PEW. If you can no longer stand this game after a couple weeks into this Uprising build then find another game, the constant bitching and whining does not make our game better.
SIDENOTE: Ever since Uprising came out, my PS3 no longer suffer constant hard freezes (w/ PS3s IP set in DMZ in router). I used to freezing everything ******* game and hadn't hit cap in the past two weeks. Lots of homos like me have this trouble stil, try this DMZ option if you have done the PS3's restore database and file system, unistall/restal dust clientl, game data deletion.....etc.
