Also, don't be OVERLY concerned since so much is changed... everyone else's range was nerfed as well due to SS skill removal, the old VK1 assault (high shields) is dead and assaults will be harder to maximize, and I expect there will be a lot more weaponry on the battlefield chewing through dudes' shields so you can eat their armor.
