lol does the CRU use less PG than equipping one on a standard dropship? They have one more slot for more HP but less PG means I have to equip PG upgrades out of necessity. |

Not to mention that mobile CRUs in a dropship almost always end up with your team losing, since blueberries just sit inside the ship until it explodes |

yes and when you add stuff to change the powergrid you get some much less then if you put one on lower version of it limiting you even more as all powergrid and cpu upgrades work on the base stats. |

Need I also not mention that you get zero WP for it? But that also applies itself across the board for pretty much anything drop ship related |

Especially since the unique player-driven market is a hallmark of EVE and one of the main keys to its success. Although hopefully also like EVE they can be reprocessed in to raw materials in which case they will have some value. And because competition being what it is the raw materials are actually usually pretty close in value in value to the final product so it would still be a substantial amount of cash. |

Honestly, the Eryx and the Prometheus are CCP's biggest player joke around. CCP is constantly trying to push these on us saying "how great" these are. I remember one developer video showing off the Prometheus and not to mention most of the player base has AT LEAST 20 to 30 of BOTH the Eryx and Prometheus sitting in their inventory because of salvaging 5 each time.
Fact is I remember using my Ishukone Forge Gun to blow up someone's Prometheus as they called it in. Took 2 shots to get it on fire and a 3rd to finish it off.
If I were CCP, I would lower the skill requirement down to dropship 1 (either Caldari or Gallente, depending) and either lower the ISK cost on them or raise the CPU/PG. 400,000 ISK is pretty expensive for paper that when used almost guarantees a loss for your team. |

I fly Eryx's even though it is a shame once i realized that their armor is practically the same as the Myron, i had been comparing the two for ages and i originally wasn't going to get the Eryx because of the rediculous cost of SP and money, but i was convinced to because my friend told me that the Eryx can take a **** ton of damage, a lot more than a Myron, and that made sense to me, since it was just so much to upgrade there was no way it could be bad, but sure enough, all of those upgrades was just for the fact it can have a damn Mobil Spawn Unit inside of it. So i have a turbo-booster equipped on it with a few sheild enhancements, its low CPU and PG storage points also ******* suck like crazy, I'm real dissapointed that this is what CCP considers to be a top ranking ship. |

since everyone even myself will be posteing a negitive, i`ll psot 1 possitive, you can slap on 1 proto missle accelorator, scattered ION blaster, light clarity sheild transporter, 3 Azotopics, and 2 Local PG expension units and call yourself the all in 1 DS, fights tanks and infrantyr to a point, deploys people, heals tanks etc, to bad its weak suace say my myron with 6.6 total HP and 27.?? sheild rechard rate, I`m not a logi advance class but as the normal standard DS tech I have more energy then you, all you got is an extra slot that has to be a CRU, i can fit that on, - 1 slot but I would have more power then you still so HA.
anyways to suggest a balance, since its an advance logi it needs mroe CPU/PG, if you lower its HP you can call it standard logi DS but not advanced, Also something I`m intrested in, will there be a triage DS class? its getting fun to heal tanks even thuogh useless on my behalf WP/SP wise. |

I DO use a prom. Why I hear you scream at me?
1) The shield and armour modules work off the base figures. So Armour hardeners and extenders as a % increase make the Armour gains greater in the prom/eryx.
2) The CRU can be effective. Often not, but I have used it to turn the tide of a battle.
3) That extra free high slot means I can fit in an extra module to help recharge shields or add strengthening modules.
My Prom come out with more armour, 700 less shields then my strongest Grim. But with the CRU it gains usefulness (when the blues use it properly)
I have found it to have just as much survivability but with the added bonus of a CRU. So in all it works out better. Not as a gunship, but then they are not gunships so comparing them as such would be silly. |

See I don't buy that because having that much less CPU and PG means you have to sacrifice somewhere. I run tight, fully tanked fits, and there isn't a snowballs chance in hell I could run my fit on a Prometheus >_< |

you miss (who am I kidding, a scout female suit has a 95% chance of being a guy so, you sir) are HIGHLY miss infurmed, I`ll give you a example thats easy enough to understand.
so DSes can only get kill assists and if the pilot knows how to fly, 'died' kills. NOW lets super nerf the logi so he can`t gain triage, guardien and points for spawn ins (I`m ingoring you Nano hive) and say, well they can stack damage mods and get kills, allow them to do that and its balanced, no doesn`t that sond stupid? good becuse it is, and its the current state of the DSes. |

I understand. The pure numbers support your point. but you have to consider the opposing forces. For example, and the numbers are for clarity not exactness... A forge gun is strong against shields but suffers a penalty against armour. So I DELIBERATELY let forge gunners through my shield so they hit my 2x hardened armour.
say a forge gun does 1000 hp damage against shields, against armour 800 hp. If I see a forge gun I do not harden or recharge my shields. So he hits through my 800 shields, but when through into the armour only does 50 damage. Total damage 850. If I had 1500 shields he would have done 1000 hp of damage. By letting an attack hit me I can reduce its strength. So running less shields than a standard forge is infact often helpful.
If I see a swarm I buff my shields (with a recharge not a hardener so im prepped for the 2nd hit) too to reduce the damage. The way I run it is to buff against the incomming as I see it. Of course you cant see all attacks, but when surrounded I make a prediction. Often I get it right.. and all goes well.
So the best solution is not always max shields and max tank. Tactical play can be effective |
