That is also a fully released game(that people have to pay for), and did you read the list of all the bugs they patched up? |

GeneralButtNaked wrote:Armor Repairers? So I should downgrade from my 5 hp/s to 3? This helps me how? MH-82 Machine Gun? Why? The Boundless is better for tryharding, the standard is better for cost cutting. 9K330 Forge gun? If you think getting this is some sort of prize, you obviously haven't seen enough good forge gunners. Real heavies use Assault Forge Guns, or they suck it up and go for their Gastuns. A-Series Suits? Alright, this one I cannot dispute, I run A series alot, so it is nice to get 12 free. Armour Reppers: Build a few suits with the FREE gear you're being given FOR FREE so you aren't spending ISK on gear that's only slightly better?
HMG: Take your fit with the Standard HMG, make a version with the MH-82, use the FREE things you've been given FOR FREE and get a slight boost at no extra cost?
Forge Gun: You have a point here.
A-Series: And another useful one.
How about my Scout week, then?
SMGs: Why waste them - even free ones - when I have a Merc Pack and a Toxin BPO? I'm using these on my LOGI character, not my Scout. Sniper Rifles: I'd give them to my girlfriend if I could... Scout suits: They're... not really much better than my Dragonfly... Yeah, nice to have, but... not really ideal. Kinetic Catalysers: So I can make my already-fast-enough suit even faster at the cost of things I actually want to upgrade? Shotguns: SHOTGUNS!!!!
1 out of 5 ain't bad?
I think a lot of the stuff we're getting will become spontaneously more awesome for all involved when we get to sell it off to buy things we actually want for our characters. Or at least when we can donate to a Corp Armoury and provide some extra gear for Corpmates who might want things that we don't have use for. |

GeneralButtNaked wrote:Please point to one instance where I demanded an apology. Since I didn't, I think we can move past that point. So what exactly ARE you asking for?
The thread shows a dev offering an apology and free stuff.
The devs in question have good reason to be offering an apology, while CCP don't, so that shouldn't be your point. The free stuff they're offering is less than what CCP have given players so far, so that shouldn't be your point.
You're arguing that CCP could learn from these devs, when CCP either have no reason to do what this example showed, or are already doing it better.
So if your point isn't that CCP need to apologise, and isn't that we need free stuff, can you explain the point you WERE trying to make? |

Actually, the SMGs were one of the items I included as desirable in my look at the whole events offerings.
What I quoted above is the real issue I have with the Endurance event. The last thing I need is more crap I can't get rid of in my inventory. I find it ridiculous that what is billed as an MMOFPSRPG(lets get some more letters in there next time) there is zero interaction between players aside from chat and gunplay. Even at its most basic, a gifting option would allow me to trade with people I trust.
As for the fitting options, I somehow edited this out from my previous post, but I currently only run the MH82 when I get more than 100 from salvage, which is where these prize guns will go.
I do get that if you are new, these things might be real prizes. Heck, they might even serve as a good warm up for people spreading their SP around before the respec. So in that light, I think maybe this event will be more enjoyable for others. |

I am not asking for anything. CCP can do as they feel. I will then decide if it is a good value to invest further. No obligations anywhere.
My only point was that I was glad to see a dev openly admit they **** the bed and make an actual effort to remedy the situation.
There are several fronts on which CCP has completely drilled the doggie on this game/release schedule. I don't want an apology for that. That is entirely their choice. They just shouldn't be surprised when there are too few players to keep the servers populated. Which sucks for all of us, because although this game has absolutely crazy potential, right now it is only pipe dreams and marketing speak.

How is that a classy move?
They had closed beta tests and a very very very short beta test in which anyone and ther mum worked out it was a stupidly buggy mess with no voice comms which happened to be worse than DUST as it is now
So retail hits and it still is a buggy mess with no voice comms and to boot its region locked for PS3 also which they wouldnt confirm or deny for the entire time it was in beta test because they knew the wrong answer would drive away players
So now fast forward nearly 2 weeks and they have yet to still to patch the mess and players are leaving the sinking ship so in a last ditch effort they throw them a bone and try to buy them off just enough so that the major patch can hit and finally fix what should have been fixed in the beta well before release
Yea more like a classy move learned from EA on how to rip off the playerbase |

In fact CCP is giving us new stuff every week just for playing.
CCP doesn't have to apologize for anything at the moment.
People know it's a beta people want it to come out of beta stage but the Devs aren't ready, and i respect that.
Sure it was nice what the people at Defiance did and i'm sure CCP would do the same if they had some sort of major problem. |

GeneralButtNaked wrote:N1ck Comeau wrote:CCP could say stuff like that as well and also give items away too. But why would they? People know the state of the game we shoudlnt have to be showered with gifts so we say good things. You have it backwards. The guys who made Defiance were giving those rewards out for making mistakes on their part. Not so that people would say nice things. The bigger point here is that a dev came out, apologized for making errors, and offered two patch dates, as well as a reward for their early adopters who had to suffer through the growing pains. That is how a dev takes care of their community, in a open, clear fashion. So yes, CCP could take a hint from them.
What do our Devs have to apologize for? I don't mind free stuff or anything, but there have been no game breaking bugs, or anything of the sort.
The worst CCP can be accused of is not stopping the AFK exploiting, but it is really up to them to say whether it is not in the game or not, so until they say they don't want it, even that isn't an exploit. |

Hahahahaha.
"CCP should apologise and give us stuff because another game developer released a bad game and they apologised and gave away free stuff."
Pretty sure the problem there was that the game was bad at launch. Dust hasn't even BEEN launched yet.
