Using dropsuits, I'm **** with KB/M. I use my DS3. But, when I'm in my vehicles, it feels better to use my KB/M (other than using railguns). It's personal preference. I've beaten down KB/M players with decked out PROTO suits with a DS3 and a militia freefit Scout. |

If you want to be able to fight a KB/M user, you need to get a KB/M. If you find that too 'complicated', that is on you.
You have the option, you refuse to use it. Have you even read any of my posts
I've read your posts. They basically boil down to 'I'm too lazy to make it work for me, so I want everyone else to have their options limited so I don't have to work so hard'.
My point still stands.
Personally, My PS3 is next to my PC, and I switch my HDMI, KB/M, and headset cables back and forth between the two to play this. I plan to get a USB and HDMI switch so I don't have to do this. |

Its not like these people are being allowed something that you cannot have. How hard is it to simply find somewhere to set the kb/m. Your missing my point, I for example have my ps3 set up next to my TV in my bedroom, In order for me to use a kb/m I would have to move my tv and ps3 onto a desk to play Dust and then move them back again if I want to watch TV. I'm sorry but it's unrealistic to expect players to do this. I have a good gaming mouse I play on my laptop with so its not a case of me not being able to use a kb/m proficiently. It's more of a case that you cant expect players to be setup for kb/m on a console. I understand why some players want kb/m as it is better for FPS, however allowing some players to gain an out of game advantage is unacceptable, especially when planetary conquest arrives and results really start to matter. Finally the fact that the aiming and movement on the DS3 is currently clunky and imprecise in Dust 514 further compounds the issue and widens the gap between kb/m and controller. Translation: Quote:It is inconvenient for me to improve my performance in this game, so I am going to whine about it. Here's what I did when faced with the incredible dilemma of cords: I solved it. First with a folding table and chair close to the TV. But eventually I just moved the ps3 into my office and plugged it into my monitor at my desk. BUT KA24DERT, WHAT HAPPENS WHEN IT'S BLU-RAY TIME!? Well Timmy, I just move the ps3 back to the living room, and reconnect all 2 cables. Just get over it dude. If you don't want to be competitive, then you won't be competitive, simple. Whiners and defeatists have no end to their excuses.

I've never seen a more inspirational video in my life, thank you. I felt like a bit of an idiot when I moved my ps3 to the bathroom.

As someone who has tried and failed to use the ds3 for fps's the KB/M is the only way I can come close to being any good at this game. Most people have mice and keyboards laying somewhere around. And as for the desk issue, I sit two pillows on the couch to my right to both hold the KB and give me arm support. Then set a book or binder in my lap with a mousepad on it for the mouse. Works beautifully. |

So apart from the situations which are obviously exploits of glitches in the control schemes, where in DUST does KB/M have an advantage that isn't balanced by an equivalent disadvantage compared with the Sixaxis controller?
Because other than the slight advantage in aim precison (balanced by the slight advantage in movement precision on the Sixaxis), I haven't seen any legitimate advantage that's actually a part of how the controls are meant to work. |

If you want same or almost same results as a Kb/M user you are basically forced to go Kb/M or quit Dust514. We need filters for this. For matches with Kb/M , controller and AUR items. Or just remove kb/m support entirely. If you enjoy the game you can continue to play with a controller and everyone will be on a level playing field.
like i said , filters and problem is fixed

Yea sounds like you are just really lazy and whining. I'm sorry you have to take 15 seconds out of your life to move some stuff around. I know that cuts into your happy happy time.
When I play I have to break out my table, break out my mouse pad, break out my keyboard, break out my blue tooth, hook all of it in, move my TV and Couch, setup a secondary arm rest on my couch, adjust the brightness on the TV cause I moved it closer.
And none of that bothers me. Its just how it works. I have this thing called a job where I have to work, and that thing called a job has made me not lazy like other people. I'm sorry you fail, I'm sure you have a reason for it. Some sad story, I understand.
As for unfair advantage. When has EvE ever been about fair? Some things are just better. We had these things called feet, they moved us around, then we had horses then we had cars. I'm sure the horse community complained that cars were to fast and unfair for people who had to use horses, but horse only people are savages and should be enslaved by car people. |

what about people with surround sound headphones? some people dont have those, does that mean they are unfair and they should no be allowed? It gives a advantage. Some players cannot afford it. So remove support?
What about mics? Some players cant afford those either. so they have a unfair advantage So ban mics?
No Keyboards and mice are more common and cheaper then both mics and surround sound headphones. If you choose not to buy one thats not someone elses problem.
Your logic fails.
What about people with massive tv screens? you dont think having a 65" tv does not make it easier to get headshots or spot people at distance? You cant afford that tv Not my fault you have a monetary disability
Thats your problem.

Also, I'm (still) yet to see evidence that there's any real advantage to KB/M control over the sixaxis in DUST. Unless you count the exploits involved, the precision advantage with mouse aim doesn't come with a turn speed advantage, so it's no more than the precision movement advantage offered by the sixaxis controller over WASD controls.
So where's this "unfair" advantage that KB/M users have?
Only the (already under investigation) exploits give those players an edge. |

That's weird, keyboards and mice combos were like 20 bucks before I got a PS3, however after I got a PS3, keyboard and mice combos were still around 20 bucks. How come the price didn't go up for me? Was my gaming intent not good enough? |

Finding reasons to remove options for people isn't adult behavior. It's childish. The support is there because CCP wants PC gamers to be able to come and dive in. This is another "BWAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Mommy the bad man wont play my way, waaaaaaaah!" thread.
None for you. If you are so offended go buy a keyboard and mouse. combined cost of 25 bucks. If its so OP you should do better than you ever could with a proto suit.
KB/M is neither cheating, nor an exploit. quit whining about it as though there is some law against "not being like you." |

The PS3 comes with a PS3 controller, it also has USB ports. Does your PS3 have USB ports? Awesome! Why don't you just plug in a mouse and keyboard then, so you can use the Win button too?
The answer is because you don't want to put in the effort to be better, so instead you want to bring other people down.
On top of all that. I've squadded with plenty of killing machines that use the PS3 controller, so maybe the mouse isn't such a great advantage?
And if so, it just leaves people like you as pointless whiners.
It's ok to not be great at a game, but you should stop looking at external factors. We are all bound by the same rules. |

For one, there would be no where to put the mouse, since I have me PS3 set up in front of my couch. 2, I was simply stating that the OP perceived an advantage in using a KBM, so it had nothing to do with "I'm not good". I have never used a KBM, so I don't know if there is an advantage. I do ok with a DS3 controller, and although I have been known to die a lot, I have no proof that my killer was using a KBM. Right now, I find everyone at fault. The DS3 people who are too lazy and/or poor to use a KBM, and the KBM players who want to protect their apparent advantage, and make it unfair for everyone else. |

I dont see the KB/M as having any unfair advantages in any way to me its just simply preference but the DS3 Aim precision is bad and needs improvement. Its just way to clunky and really needs to be smoother, other games can/have acheived pixel perfect aim with the DS3 so why cant Dust? |

Was my gaming intent not good enough? Most PS3 gamers who are intent on gaming on the console ALREADY HAVE MICS. Many of us already have surround sound headphones or a surround sound home theatre setup too. What we DON'T have is a mouse and keyboard, which, while potentially compatible with the console, are rarely compatible with any games we own.
Also, my headset cost $20 new about a year after the PS3 was released, I've seen them since then for under $10, while the cheapest mouse and keyboard combo I've been able to find is over $40. Of course, this is in a country where new games are sometimes as much as $140 for the regular version, and special editions are occasionally over $200.

Fix the exploits and glitches that are the real reason KB/M is unbalanced? Definitely. |
