As explained before. this list is generated from the much larger list of all known inbound items and updates.
That list is generated by all known goals from all known sources, some goals get dropped off but rarely. The additional goals are then thrown in by server dumps. Item names pop up and we usually get a very good heads up of upcoming items well before they show up.
For example plasma cannon been around since they added the mass driver.
From there comes the boiling down process based on dropped hints from Facebook, Twitter, IRC, and Forums and additional observations of the server dumps.
1. Generic Copy paste per patch - Basically Stuff like Fix bugs are going to be on every patch. - Graphical refinement is going to be in ever patch ect ect.
2. IRC Drophints - This normally contains the best sources of things currently being worked on or those odd end features you may not have heard of yet. such as squad stuff. There is no guarantee of this listing of stuff making it to the build though so things that feel like they're going to take much longer than current build cycle gets shifted out or off the list.
3. Updates to Database. - Usually when items get worked on by the developers the database status changes, such as the plasma cannon used to be a test plasma cannon with the swarm launcher description. Now there is a full list of them out there. Items that get tweaked alot get put on the list, items not tweaked often are typically put back on back burner. Some of these items may never see the light of day unfroutunately.
4. Forum posts. - The most accurate source of up and coming changes. The weekly feedback list usually adds onto the long list, and then its chucked at the devs in various locations to see if they're being updated or worked on.
5. Soon (tms) Quite a few of these but in dev speak it generally means its on the schedule or is being worked on currently. For example there are Cloud cities internally as well as PVE, yet the where not promised for this build. |
