post-nerf is anyone still using these things? Have you found it to be useful at all? If so, how ?

I don't use it simply because it's has way too much equipload. I believe a hardener is more useful, at least for a Myron. I assume afterburner is good for the gallente dropshio because of armor plates. |

I still have it because I find that with a grim, any extra speed helps me to get out of danger, no matter how slow that is |

I'm still using on my Myron at the moment because it can get you out of range of the SL a bit faster do you don't need to tank as many.
I haven't done much flying since the nerf though, so I may end up favoring an extra shield extender or possibly another shield booster. The latter would be a good experiment to run. |

No. They're not nearly the same. If you're a Myron pilot, I suggest two shield extenders, a booster and a passive shield resistance module ... > three shield extender and a booster. |

I haven't used them once this build, personally; too heavy on the CPU for my taste. Plus, I fly Gallente, so I prefer a nice solid tank over fairy flight any day Real bummer for the rest of you though |

If you want deep tank, go with three extenders and one booster. The resists don't give you as much as an additional extender will. They don't make sense unless you are short on PG early in the game.
The extender gives you 742 HP. To match that number with a 15% resist you would have to be at 742 / 0.15 = 4,946 shield points which is impossible to do with three slots on a dropship.
Trading an extender for a second booster might let you sit and tank a single militia SL. It's something to experiment with. |

how is anyone able to fly shields for more than 2 minutes without getting forge gunned to death? The most defensively built shield ship I can come up with is just target practice. |

The annoying thing is if this had happened before the patch i'd only have been hit by around 6 swarms |

I go with my "Mad flying, flying Mad" fit where I use two armor reps on the gallente standard and two hardeners. I've yet to be alpha'd into submission but I've been shot down plenty

Also, that was practice with a militia one, now that I have a standard I'll be quite a bit more resilient two hardners? wouldn't a 60mm plate give you a higher ehp? the added resistance from a hardener from base armour isn't that much |

I like to put afterburners on my tanks.
You don't get any speed boost, but you do get that warp effect.
And that makes it cool. |

And that makes it cool. funny most of us ds pilots hate that warp effect, it looks cheesy and gives the impression that we're going much faster than we actually are |

But I was this whole time I thought you were talking about how you shield tank. I had asked how anyone can live in those things. Thought you had 2 shield reps |
