I still have it because I find that with a grim, any extra speed helps me to get out of danger, no matter how slow that is |

If you want deep tank, go with three extenders and one booster. The resists don't give you as much as an additional extender will. They don't make sense unless you are short on PG early in the game. The extender gives you 742 HP. To match that number with a 15% resist you would have to be at 742 / 0.15 = 4,946 shield points which is impossible to do with three slots on a dropship. Trading an extender for a second booster might let you sit and tank a single militia SL. It's something to experiment with. how is anyone able to fly shields for more than 2 minutes without getting forge gunned to death? The most defensively built shield ship I can come up with is just target practice. dual reppers works well but you still can't tank forge guns, swarms on the other hand are a different matter, my only dropship loss today took 4 people spamming swarms at me to kill me, i must have taken 8 separate volleys before i went into Armour burn and i still had 2 pulse to go on the cycles, then the ninth hit home and took me into hull and i started to fall. The annoying thing is if this had happened before the patch i'd only have been hit by around 6 swarms |

Do you keep an armor rep on it too? [/quote] ah i was talking about armour reppers not boosters, i use grim's right now, but to reverse your point and apply it to shields i don't use a shield repper, don't have the slot or the pg for it |

Also, that was practice with a militia one, now that I have a standard I'll be quite a bit more resilient two hardners? wouldn't a 60mm plate give you a higher ehp? the added resistance from a hardener from base armour isn't that much |

You don't get any speed boost, but you do get that warp effect.
And that makes it cool. funny most of us ds pilots hate that warp effect, it looks cheesy and gives the impression that we're going much faster than we actually are |

I guess I just gave out one of my well kept secrets :P But I was this whole time I thought you were talking about how you shield tank. I had asked how anyone can live in those things. Thought you had 2 shield reps sorry i should have clarified it in my op |
