I honestly can't even name the last time I used a DS3 to play a game on PS3. I use m/kb for this (which is a leading reason why I'm sticking with the game at the moment), and then I play mostly SF4 and SFxT with a fight stick. I guess Uncharted 3 was probably it.
The thing is all kinds of awkward for me after using all of the much better alternatives. |

I take pride in wrecking your proto tanks and suits with my stock shotgun and assault forge. I keep hearing all this hype about how much better the keyboard and mouse is for this game, but if I'm doing a shooter on ps3 then I really want to use the ds3.
Then again I guess I could get people to fear the name noob.45 again.
As far as forge sniping goes, the further you are the easier the target. It is CQC forge gunning that takes skill... at least killing the 2 or 3 coming for you without you doing a kamikaze. |

I love my Forge Gun. I and every other dedicated Forge Gunner can easily tell you that it's one of the few weapons where if you die using it, you can't complain because you probably earned it. It's an extremely satisfying weapon as well and an all around weapon that can both take out infantry and vehicles. Also if you don't like the Gastun Forge gun then theres something wrong. It
s so good and all i use is assault forge guns. I may be one of the few Forge gunners that actually push into enemy bases with Forge guns and it's really fun because either i screwed up and got killed or i was able to take them out because i was smart about it. anyway Forge gun is=Fun Gun like Sake said. I also use the Ps3 controll. i never switched over to mouse. |

Oh, I don't dedicate to it solely. For me, it's opportunity based. If you go out trying to forge snipe every game, you'll get mauled. You pull out the boomstick only when you're certain you've got some time alone on a (very tall) grassy knoll.  |

Been using the assault forge gun since many betas ago, will always be my weapon of choice. I did test out the proto ishukon version yesterday with 2 X 10% heavy dmg mods, it was really good but to expensive to use in instant battles (cant die more than once or you lose isk). Use DAU Assault version most of the time. |

I was on the same team as a 9k330 Forge Gunner, I just watched him the whole match with his Forge Gun blowing up Protobears.
Its so entertaining to see their expensive suits go flying up in the air.
The only thing better than watching a Forge Gunner kill a Protobear is to see this in the kill feed;
"Insert MLT Player name here" (Militia Assault Rifle) "Insert Proto Player Name here"
So satisfying!

Crouching before you fire with the forge gun makes it deadly accurate. This will decrease the wondering round into a more precise line rather than a cone of direction. The round sometimes still goes off coarse but most of the time, it will go dead center of the reticule with crouching and not moving. |

As chromebreaker said you get a nack for aiming,timing and overall killing. I do get more pleasure killing with a FG than anything else. As it takes some skill. Now if im sitting on top of them and shooting down, its just a turkey shoot. But sniping across the map is fun. |

Didn't think about this, but it's very true. Forge gun is very frustrating at first, and when you're not practiced with it. You die a lot early on without feeling like you're even getting close to killing anything. So if someone is using a non-militia forge gun, they're probably pretty decent with it. |

Never been a fan of forging infantry but sometimes when the enemy is just a bit too far away, you gotta do what you gotta do. Still doesn't beat my ultimate joy of destroying vehicles with my Grimlock though.  |

It's probably the easier thing in this game to "snipe" a player or vehicle with a forge gun. This coming from someone who uses a controller, hates twitch games, is horrible at FPS and aiming in general.
It's not really skill using a FG. Its easier to time and line up a shot than it is to do something as basic as sniping. x100 |
