Yeah, I ran up against a squad of them; if it wasn't for the sp I probably would have quit the match. They aren't the only ones though. I've seen quite an uptick of proto suits today compared to what I normally see. |

It can be anoying yes, but think about the investments thaey made with the outfit, they will loose money on the fight if they die just 1-2 times while I can die 10 times in my cheap 15k assault oufit and still come out with a profit. It makes sense with the huge difference in kille death ratios when you considers the amount of ISK the individual players invested in their clones.
The drawback of the elite squads is that they run togheter while many loose team mates follow them. Run ahead of them and retake the skirmish positions and you will get tons of war points while it allmost start being funny running around. Never stay at the objective you have just captured as it is a magnet to the elite squad blob.
imagine how good it feels hitting one with your forge gun, no proto will survive a hit from this weapon. They do however chase me for the rest of the encounter |

Ran into these two douchebags running with their corpmates today. Kane with that bloody Freedom Mass Driver and Taste with that fking HMG. 2 games I got stomped and switched to my starter sniper fit and camped in the back after 5 minutes of our team spawn getting spawn trapped lmao. 3rd game i got paired with a better team and we got em' good. |

The point is CCP is a business, how does a business survive? By maintaining profitability and that cannot happen when much of your player base abandons the game you worked so hard on a lot quicker than expected because of the mentality of experienced players. "It happened to us and we learned" "We are not stomping you, we're helping you get better" "QQ more" That will not help Dust survive. Personally coming from EVE I don't mind so much, it does have its frustrating moments but it also as its rewarding moments. Again though I fall into the small niche of gamers that will play anyway, but it is to small a niche for Dust to remain viable.

This is the one topic I am not a fan of the "qq more" answer since it is a legitimate fault with the game design. Yeah, a no pre-formed squad option is a must, especially since 6 man squads are coming soon. Even when I run solo and there is 2 or 3 other decent players on my side, we dominate the heck out of the other team most of the time, and none of us are even communicating with eachother. We all do our own thing, and before you know it, steamroll. So with pre-formed squads of decent players that are communicating and trying to work as a team, it is even more devastating. Coupled with the new ambush spawning, it is even worse now. I say let those who squad up, play against other squads of players. Matches are much more fun that way anyway. Also they still need to work out the kinks in matchmaking regarding balancing out teams. I still see too many lopsided matches. It's either me and a bunch of name-brand players going up against a full team of newberries, or I am on the team of newberries vs all the experienced players.
I was gonna respond, but Leuko said everything i wanted to say...and if i join a game it ussually goes the same way.

This is the one topic I am not a fan of the "qq more" answer since it is a legitimate fault with the game design.
Thing is, with current skill and gear level among players in Beta, corporations with powerful squads would end up waiting half an hour or more for the instant battle matchmaking system (if there is even one in place at all at this point) to create balanced teams.
The Imperfects are good because they devote a lot of time and effort to the game. Among other reasons. So making instant battle arduous and slow for good squads would in effect be punishing players that do well because they are devoted to playing the game.
Yes, punishing, because there isn't anything else to do other than play instant battle for SP.
And the game show Merc battles and corporation gambling are not really something you can just sit down and play regularly.
So there really has to be something else for elite corporations to do, and somewhere else for them to go.
When that happens, I would see no problem with making them wait half an hour or forty five minutes for a more evenly balanced pub match if they can't get the heck out of High sec.
Plus, the dominate squads pub stomping behaviour could be helping set some parameters for matchmaking and we may just be in the data gathering phase, still. Who knows. |

Wait, people pretend there's skill involved in this game?
I'm sorry but this game requires less skill World of Warcraft, it's very much comparable to the battlegrounds.
Good aim is not required in this game, this isn't CS 1.6 or Quake 2 where you need fast reactions and quick aim adjustments. The key to power is simply having map awareness and loads of SP. It's not really hard to kill loads of people when you're doing considerably more damage than them and having considerably more HP to boot. Throw in team mates that'll back you up and the pub stomp is a given.
As for corp matches it's just about information, knowing what to do and when to do it. Gee, maybe that's why all the closed beta corps are doing so good? Nah, impossiburu!

I used to get stomped all the time by them. Instead of running and hiding like a cry baby, i kept going after them forcing myself to fight them. Id go solo after them when they had proto before the wipe and kept pushing myself to my limits.

So...is the issue here they're in proto gear? Or that they squad up? Or both? I'm confused now....
Anyway, it's really a surprise to people when top tier players that play the game more than average band together, pick a defensible position, strap on some of the most costly equipment in the game, and use voice comms to coordinate end up steamrolling a bunch of random players that don't use any teamwork, run at them head on in militia fits in ones and twos, and can't aim? Is that what we're complaining about here?
Would you expect a good match up between a local junior high basketball team and a team in the NBA?
Would you expect someone that's studied martial arts for six months to beat a skilled MMA fighter?
Would you expect someone that just got their driver's license to win a Formula 1 race?
Trust me, I get killed plenty by them when they're squadded up (and when they're not squadded up!), but I at least tend to work down their shields half way and sometimes touch armor first. :p
I don't rage about it, it's just a game...if you're that worried about it make a cheap throw away fit (mine's a 3k scout fit) and have at it. Watch where they set up, watch how they move, how they use overlapping fields of fire...LEARN, don't just whine!
I will say I've killed Alldin (spelling?) and protoman before. Of course, Alldin was 20 meters away in an ADV scout suit with a shotgun sprinting directly away from me, and protman was at half armor after waxing three guys with his back turned. |
