Getting tired of playing against euros/non-US players and having massive lag/problems.
An example, two matches in a row playing against What the French and Betamax/Betamax beta tonight, each time I spawn without the option to use grenades (of any kind). My grenades are literally GONE. And blueshields are at max efficiency.
This:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y66/Leukotic/euro_games1_zpsb39b26b7.png
I literally have no nades, they are just gone. Press R2 from a fresh spawn, nothing happens.
The first time this happened tonight after several hours of gameplay, was going against a whole squad of WTF players. From my experience WTF players are a plague of lag and other issues.
Please CCP, give us the option to only play against "local" players if we choose. I do enjoy going up against some euro players (Toyboi from Betamax for example). But the lag between us is too much and one gains an advantage over the other based on what server the game chooses for us. A separation is definitely needed for fair gameplay.
Until the entire world gets fiber optic to their homes and ISP's, cross-country online gameplay is horrendous. Please let us choose if we want to play against non-local players or not. |

You may have just pulled the pin on an explosive first-world-privileges-being-taken-for-granted debate... But luckily you don't actually have grenades. |

Each match you play in could be one of many servers located around the world. In Merc matches sometimes we have the ability to choose US/EU servers (and sometimes Asia servers).
Single shard doesn't mean everybody is playing on the same physical server. |

Pfft, I wish I had fiber, but I realize its potential for almost 100% lag-free (extremely low latency) environments. And until everybody has it and the worlds infrastructure relies on it exclusively, cross-country play really isn't that feasible in terms of fair online play when even a difference of 100ms means life or death. (it's likely more a difference of 500-1000ms on cross-country play, if not more).
Keep online games local. Or at the very least, let us choose. |

+1 for this - been campaigning for a while myself, but not even an acknowledgement of the issues yet. Must confess I've never seen grenades vanish before, though! Just... weird!
Much as I'd like to see the whole world playing together, the fact that there are 3 server locations suggests that even CCP doesn't expect that to work out. But I'm with you - we only really need/ want one server to be usable so long as we can always select that location...
Incidentally, while I can't speak for the French or other mainland EU players, you'll still see UK players on US servers. It turns out that network traffic from south-coast UK to the Amsterdam server (350 miles away) is routed 10,000-odd miles via TEXAS. Yep, I get better gameplay with "only" the 5,000-miles to the US server.
It's gotten beyond tolerable for me, so I guess when life gives you lemons, you:
- packet-capture all your gameplay,
- create a grid of game scores by time of game,
- cross-reference this grid with packet logs to ascertain server location
- run statistical analysis to prove the problem is significant and not a blip
and then post the whole lot here (in the first instance) to see if that gets anyone's attention...
Damn, I know I'm here to test this game, but this is getting rather involved . |

The Answer is NEVER. If you have LAG, CCP will upgrade Servers or infrastructure, but you will never have a chance to choose a server, because it breaks the fourth wall. |

As an Asian player, I appreciate this cross-regions thingy. I was asking for this for long time now as well. Single universe, Single war and all. I don't want to be left at a corner of galaxy called Asian server.
It's not like having players from other region play in your server will lag you. It has been this way for ages now. You know that there were always some Asian/EU players among you in NA server ever since the introduction of corporation no I meant squad, do you ? It's just the matter of where the squad leader located and everyone in the squad will be sent there. If you didn't notice it before, then the lag isn't that significant.
As for being thrown into other region server. All I could say is HTFU. I and many other fellow non NA/EU players are dealing with this all the time in almost every game. Also, I must say CCP are doing a fine job designing the game with high latency gameplay in mind. This is pretty much the reason why the gungame in this game feel "simple" and cater "tactical thinking" over "precise aiming"(aka Oh leet FPS skill from other game).
This is because once the galaxtic conquest commence, everyone will fight everyone everywhere. You can't choose where, when and who to fight. The war will choose you.
This is also why It always humor me to no end when the US and EU players taunt at each other, saying they are the best and they only lost because the other were playing on their local server. I would really love the next Dust official tournament to take place at Asian server and watch how this 'leet' western player duke it out. Just my 0.16 cent.

lol... I feel like i should be apologizing to you know. I do realize that you Asian guys, depend a bit on global gaming, specially with FPS games.
This USA V's EU thing, is one of that old gaming traditions, which can get a bit out of hand some times.
My apologies sir.
Maybe trying to restrict latency limits across all the servers, will be a better solution. |

It will be interesting to see how the system decides what server a battle will take place on when players start attacking and defending districts.
For example a mostly American corp holds a district and a largely Asian corp attacks it, which server the battle/battles takes place on will have a significant affect on the outcome, and if the system follows a rigid set of rules to decide this, corps will game this to make sure servers favor them or disadvantages their target more than it does them. |

I'm kinda used to it now ^^" Beside, those kind of debate always entertain me lol.
The only thing is when there is finally a company that state this issue, don't suggest them to take a step back.

This bother me for awhile as well, ever since I start playing this game actually. How will CCP make it fair for both parties. I have posted a few time asking about this in feedback forum but never a dev's answer, only player's speculates. My take from all the silence is that CCP don't know How the kitten will they do that either ^^"
One legit and easiest solution would be let the defender choose. It is their territory after all. This will encourage employer (be it EvE or Dust Corp) to employ more mercenaries from said region to conquer/defend it due to their latancy advantage. This doesn't prevent the defender to choose a server like African server (if there will ever be one) even though they are from EU just to lag the hell out of everyone and leave the job to automated weapon system ^^"
My own suggestion would be, as I post in earlier post, use the third party server (which I doubt anybody will agree with me :p). Just like in international football (or soccer for any you wield American :p) match, they always try to use referee from different country/continent than both teams involved. If Asian invade American let them fight it off at EU server. It should work along pretty nicely here. I do forseen whinny player cry unfair from both parties though. The only "fair" solution for them would be playing at their lag-free home server so their true leet FPS skill can shine lol.

I think you guys just want to have an excuse on why you died or why a problem happened. Sure it is an issue but i never see myself die because he had an advantage over me (connection wise) and i don't have fibre optics or and fancy internet like that. |

To the OP:
If you are in a squad, you will get in the server your squad leader is from. If your SL is from Europe, you-Śll get into the EU servers; if he is from the US, you-Śll get into the US servers.
But lag will always be there, so deal with it. I have to fight almost all our corp battles in the US servers, which is not mine. It's painful, but if I have to deal with it or just not play, I will deal with it. |

Yes I know how to throw nades, and I guarantee you that nades were completely gone for me on a suit that did have them equipped. It was very strange.

I think that whoever is attacking should play on the sever of the defenders. I mean if one country invades and attacks another IRL, they are on the defending countries soil.
Also my OP was not saying that all players should be forced to their own area of the world, I was suggesting that we, as individual players, have the option to only play on servers filled with 100% local traffic. Obviously when we will be able to attack planets and whatnot, there will be no choice, which is how it should be. But for pub matches, would be nice to have the option to only play with locals. |

One of the Devs has said that they are looking at the possibility for players to do this, not just to stick to their own region but to queue in other regions without having an SL from that region.
This may be available for instant battles in the future but your certainly right that its unlikely to be available for district related battles, I'm pretty sure Leukoplast only means instant battles. |
