I would like to see ccp get rid of vehicles running over people and get the kill for it. I think it is cheating, this is a first person shooter game not grand theft auto. |

Maybe they oughta get punted right back into their MCC.

An AV grenade or just a grenade? Use the right tool for the right job. If it's a LAV, the occupants are likely exposed so you might be able to damage them (moreso than the vehicle) if the grenade explodes higher rather than on the ground. I've been hit by an AV Grenade in a LAV, and those do absolutely destroy it too.
As far as I recall, the general rules for resistances apply in DUST as they do in EvE. Explosives versus Shields doesn't work so well. Explosives against ARMOR (IE: Unshielded) will absolutely destroy it. This is why with even a Militia launcher it takes six (2x3 warheads) rounds to at least disable a vehicle. Shields resist it better, but armor practically melts like butter. |

Ooh like dragging cans behind a wedding car with a just married sign? And the bodies slide around behind you. And sometimes they don't quite die and are flinging around behind your LAV struggling to break free and maybe wildly shooting too. I really think we're onto something here! [not really] |

This is ridiculous. What happens when a car hits you? It hurts like a b*tch, right? If you are hit hard enough, it kills you right? That's exactly what happens here. You can graze someone in here and they take partial or full damage depending on how hard they are hit.
TL;DR: Working as intended. |

At least it doesn't feel like APBR's method of vehicle impacts. Even if you're out of the way you still get classified as "hit" due to their bad netcode. |

So.. if you're in a shiny 50-500k ISK suit.. why didn't you watch for vehicles running around? Why didn't you have AV in place to take them out before deploying something so expensive? Don't run what you can't afford to lose, right?

I'm cool with this being a suggestion but thinking of it as cheating is just . . . well . . . silly. Cheating, really? They cheated? lol.
AND . . . note he said it shouldn't count as a kill, not that it shouldn't kill people. The recommendation involves removing the kill so that there is less encouragement to engage in this play style. He is correct in his thinking overall and I agree to a certain extent (except for the whole cheating point, lol).
My way of discouraging the mechanic is to carry packed AV grenades. Stand in middle of road, look like easy target, toss AV nade as LAV rushes at you, toss nade, watch LAV slowly decelerate as its flaming wreck stops just in front of you or offers you a nice flaming love tap to congratulate you on a job well done.
Keep your head on a swivel, turn up your audio so you can hear that distinctive LAV sound and educate people on the hazards of LAV driving . . . by killing them. |

Getting roadkilled is annoying when it happens to oneself but it is actually an okay part of the game.
Note: There has been better threads which request not the removal of roadkills but scaling casualties with impact speed and possibly damaging the vehicle (LAV) based on impact as well. |

So you saying that i should "anticipate", when a moron is going to be driving around looking for free kills ? or never use my best dropsuits just in case is one around ? so what is the point of SP and skill books, if we only going to be using the starter dropsuits all the time, anyway?

See those LAV icons running around the map? I sure do.. someone on the team typically gets an eye on them, and during that spawn countdown you get an opportunity to see where it might be going anyway. If you know a HAV is on the field, you deploy heavy AV equipment. If you know LAVs are running around trying to run people over (or you can treat any LAV that's bullrushing skirmish lines like it is) than you keep your head up.
If your expensive dropsuit is too expensive, then don't use it. Your trained skills do enhance even the militia suits to some degree. I anticipate vehicles, especially LAVs to be used for anything BUT transport since people invest in getting it brought to ground.
Your link about collision damage is irrelevant. I stated I could support the notion of LAVs taking some damage a result of hitting infantry, not asserting that it does, did, or was scaled properly. |

I think collision damage is VERY important. It will stop people from going in killing sprees with a LAV, if they know that they can only do it for a limited amount of time, before they blow up. |

Perhaps.. the question would then become "by how much". I'd suspect that a new line of skillbooks could be brought in too. |

I think 2 -3 kills max, then you have to decide if you want to call another LAV, and wait 15 seconds, or join the battle and use you gun like every one else. |

...wait what ... run out in traffic then come back I'll wait (taps foot) oh your back ohh you're dead.
so far people have tried to run me over at least 20 times . you know what i do . i move . or i climb up stairs . (which btw is not as effective i would like tbh) carry a AV or a packed AV grenade . i had a guy jump on top of my tank and frag me .
also if you are a heavy you have a chain gun side step the LAV like a bull and let rip on the gunner free kill LAV guy books it because he wants to clear out before he gets ripped apart next .
if you are a heavy with a forge cannon. well . ITS YOUR TIME TO SHINE BLOW THAT MOTHER TRUCKER UP . adapt . if you are in a map with no cover spec for some vehicles . cause your gonna see them . a LAV is not very strong . one swarm . or one forge hit . and they cook like a egg on a muffler . |

Learn to use A/V and stop complaining. At most there could be some damage when hitting heavies with all that armor. Driving is a valid tactic, have fun getting run over. |

Okay honestly, I'm a Heavy who uses an HMG (Duh.) and a Swarm Launcher, if you're ever in a match with me, LAV's do NOT survive. As a heavy I'm a fatty, my character moves slower than Shotgun-Scouts or Snipers, and yet I still manage to avoid death by roadkill. Very easily in fact. Get some of your AV buddies to take out the LAV's and if you don't have any...Get some! Corps are for more than just galactic conquest and Corp Battles, they're also there to make sure that you have a well-rounded useful team for any situations that may arise. Including vehicular combat, something YOU should be prepared for on your own, seeing how popular all the vehicles seem to be. |

It's not hard. The engine noise and the headlight glare broadcast them on all but the sunniest maps. Get better headphones if it's really that much of an issue for you.
Personally, I really enjoy dodging blueberry LAVs with my Forge fit before blowing them to kingdom come. |

Perhaps not. To be fair, I've met the occasional LAV that can take a packed AV nade like a boss. Then I either toss more, yell for my squaddies to toss some with a little HMG fire to boot, and then sidestep/run like a little girl as necessary.
Also, definitely killed a L.O.T.I.S. LAV or two, but as stated, probably not one of yours. |
