but its a DropShip NOT A GunShip... hence the missile nerf (which i agree with) so if its AN UNREAL GUNSHIP it pays for itself... but what of the ACTUAL DropShips??? the Troop Ferriers... with MAGZ and KANE u can take "1" hit and live... we NEED points for doing our job JUST SAFELY DELIVERING TROOPS INTO DROPLINKLESS HOSTILE AREAS... we shouldnt have to build an Apache... its a BlackHawk... it needs to be able to pay for itself... when its fitted and flown properly ... NOT for the 10 second deaths... Well all I can say is that your math is a factor basis of blueberries. If you ran a squad in a DS, and put a defense order on the DS, that's much more WP right there, especially if you drop off a squad mate to hack an objective you fly near. I've lost very few DS these a days in comparison to my earlier experiences, which brings me out to a near total profit in ISK. It's as if I had run the whole game in militia starter fits. And people emphasize the troop delivery but you have to understand it has guns for a reason. It's a support vehicle. Not a straight up attack vehicle, not a straight up defenseless vehicle. Again, we're also talking Public Instant battles, we're not talking about being hired by a legitimate PvP corporation and fighting some hot ****.
I feel like the DS does need some extra WP to be earned from piloting directly rather than the pure indirect system, but we can't go as liberal as to make it an absolute magnet of WP. I figure that once Team Leaders come into the game a DS will earn more WP from completing orders given to them. |

Maybe a pilot should get a set amount of WP for every Swarm Missile evaded, so if you invade a Swarm Launcher that shoots out 6 Missiles you'll get more WP than a SL that shoots out 5. Unless thats already in effect. |

meh... thats too easy... i woul LIKE to see a REDZONE ticker (passive wp for time spent INSIDE HOSTILE AIRSPACE, not hiding in the redzone safezone or behind a mountain in extended AIRSPACE), drop timer (awarded assist pts, pilot only, for anything done kill/hack within a short time period of successful drops), and SOME points for mobile CRU (otherwise i need more shields, theyre cheaper AND better UTILITY without) |

militia forges really do need to go and pilots need to gain more SP. drop ships should just get a portion of the SP that their passengers get for a minute or two after they leave the Dropships(think like command points). |

I'm a DS pilot myself, and definitely agree. We need WP for people spawning in the ship and maybe things like timed assists on people who drop out.. We get WP for teammates spawning on our drop uplinks, why not our ship spawns? But! At the same time, something needs to be done about leachers . I incessantly have people spawn in my dropship, and never leave for the entire match, just sitting there just soaking up the vehicle assists from my gunners. If i could forcefully eject leaching bums, that would be a great boon to the cause aswell. |

EJECT ALL PASSENGERS "LEFT" SLOT... EJECT "4 inactive passengers" SLOT... if NOTHING ELSE "EJECT 6" SLOT... tho i know there must be SOMETHING to prevent redzone troll drops
WE NEED TO CONTROL OUR DOORS, AND PASSENGERS MUSTNT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE A SHIP WITH CLOSED DOORS!!!!!!! |

I go 4/5 - 0 quite often in my dropships.... you just have to realize having an X ton dropship land on your head is going to hurt!
Seriously tho. Hp buff (resists?), slight speed increase, more variation, and an ability to gain WP |

Wps for cru spawns is a bad idea. That has boosting written all over it. Drop offs abnd pick ups for wps is just the same.
Points after a drop and capture seems a little better. Your wps are regulated by the enemy having to capture the points before you can gain more wps making it more strategic and support oriented. (the way the dropship should be used.)
Also a lock on warning or forge energy detection when the charge is aimed at the ship would be a little more helpful and allow us to maneuver. To many times ive been blined sided by fire. It is my number 1 issue with staying in the the air. I can out maneuver swarms and forges but when 3 sets of missiles are already in the air before you realize it, it greatly reduces your chances for non skilled pilots.

Why would getting points for CRU spawns be bad? They function in the exact same way drop uplinks do and you get points when your team spawns on them so why deny it to DS. And i definitely agree with you about the AV warning |

Unlimited spawns in a cru as oppose to limited from a drop uplink. Its makes a big difference when abused. |

Yeah but you can only fit so many people in a dropship and you could limit the amount of times you get points for 1 person spawning, and any ways there's nothing to stop said abuse from going on with current drop uplinks. |

The cru is the greatest weapon a dropship has. Getting points for it is overpowered. A nano hive doesn't have unlimited spawning, movement through out the map, 2000+ health and can shoot back. One bash of a gun to a nano and its dead... it should be getting points. |

and a drop uplink (not nano hive) costs HOW much? as aposed to my multirole ship?
a reminder... players earn WP for doing their job/role... it is NOT a DropShips job to fly around shooting ppl... tho weve been reduced to as much... with 2 gunners... we might earn 1000WP in a GREAT match (including defend order/OB) ... but lets not fotget the MAIN problem for DropShip pilots... its NOT WP, its ISK... ISK...ISK... we cant afford to do our job...
on a humorous note... buddy and i experimented... know what happens when u put a drop uplink on the top of a flying dropship??? |

As a pilot i skilled allot of sp int shields and turrets for my myron and it really payd off untill every one realised they could just set up a malitia forge set up , i have a sollution to this that i will post in another thread but i will comment on the dropship sp for this thread .
I totally feel the pain of little sp and isk for my efforts as pilot my as my gunners get all the glory and sp/isk for their work . The only way i have found of gaining deacent sp for your efforts is to be squad leader and put the defend order on your best gunner, that way goy get squad commision from both your gunners and the killassists that come as being a pilot but not only that you will get the commision from your best gunners kill asists . I do feel like a piont dependant on damage taken and survived over "Hot Zones" maybay a 60m diameter arround each objective possibly 25 sp per minute spent in the hot zone and additional assist points for your gunners getting kills would satisfy the need for sp and isk
to summerise 1) better vehicle asist points for dropship pilots
2) designated hot zones with a fixed diameter round the objective that gives dropships pionts for assisting in the battle possibly 25-50 sp per minute pending on how much fighting was going on bellow and how many kills and asists your gunners are getting.
3) Give us sp for using the mobile spawn points . it will help allot..
4) Give us sp if we equip a long range sensor and any reds get killd within its scan range ... this really would help the piolts.
PLEASE CCP DO SOMETHING |

I put a 674,890ISK DropShip onto the field FIRST THING... ran a 37minute skirmish and survived!!! ship went 59-0... i went 0-0... 125000ISK... please CCP... nerfed missiles i understand... but, SERIOUSLY... make a HOTZONE that earns passive wp, dmg counter, ANYTHING is better than what we (pilots) have, "NOTHING" ... i LOVE the DropShip, but a DropShip pilot CANT earn enough to even break even... ESPECIALLY WITH DIRE SENTINELS AND MILITIA FORGES...
not to mention how exp they are they are worse than tanks and just pure fodder for a darkside |

I think you're kind of missing the entire point of how Dust works in the first place. Dust's system is about weighing the options of "is it better to win or is it better to make a profit?"
Vehicles are expensive true, but that's the chance you take each time you bring one out. You say I can't make a profit when I bring it out, well guess what you made that decision when you brought it out in the first place. Same goes for when you choose to bring out more expensive gear and you get dropped. You made the choice and took the risk. Live with it. It was your choice. |

I put remote explosives on top of my LAV and they caused repeated collision damage.

I've been a gunner in a Python that took down a Madrugar. Only took a few seconds to kill a Soma with the same Python. And survived a 3 vs. 1 duel against a regular Dropship and 2 other Assault Dropships.
Not sure if you need a better fitting, a better pilot or both. With every other vehicle type getting a buff, though, I'm not sure why Dropships aren't seeing the same result. |
