My my telling others to shut up when you can't even grasp the stupidity of your argument? Fine i'll break it down for you so you can understand.
1. the game is flooded with new players.
2. new players use low end gear that is hardly worth it
3. new players foolishly run around and get themselves killed.
4. new players are too individualistic to bother banding together to take down ONE guy in a SCOUT suit who can only fire in ONE direction at ONE target at a time.
in the face of all this, using a K/D as a measure of how OP a weapon is, most notably in a game like this that has so many other variables like mods, is utterly stupid and ********. new players are still figuring out the map layouts and mechanics of the game and are still using crappy armor that may as well be tin foil to non-militia weapons. The only pathetic one here is you. you're here QQing about lasers and aren't even looking at the big picture. i tried being civil and you simply showed how utterly moronic you are. if you and the team you are on are too fail to kill one guy, that's too damn bad. there is no need to nerf this gun. If you nerf lasers, you may as well nerf sniper rifles as well cos i dropped 5 guys couching down thinking they were hidden from everyone with one shot each. they may as well nerf MDs too cos i watched them kill off me and 3 guys. how about them heavy guns? no? then please STFU and learn2play. |

It isn't even just LR users. People, in general, are having an easy time against new players. I just went 15 and 0 with an AR. And there's a video of someone going 31 and 0 with a shotgun. But, let's talk about laser rifles.

What we can deduce here is a player is putting their inability to play properly as an issue with the game. Which is all kinds of amusing and getting angry at others. Which... is beautiful. My own corp members, like Beld, can flank me, beat me and make me run, even when I'm using a laser. Is he OP? No. Beld is a good player. Knows what to do and how to aim.
Same with the members from Imperfects, Zion and many, many other players. There are too many to list. TOO many. Because they don't stand in the open and expect to be invincible. You also talk about LR being super effective against a sniper. Any weapon is super effective against a sniper. They have to be stationary. And use scout suits. Which make them squishy as hell.
This topic should be locked. It's going nowhere. Since it isn't an issue about imbalance in the game as much as it is the players inability to play. Which will change over time. |

I very rarely die to lasers anymore. You just have to be aware of your surroundings and try to treat the game a little more like a war sim than quake. Use your head and your feet to stay alive and kill the enemy, the weapon you use is almost inconsequential at this point. I wind up at the top of the killboard or close to it in most matches, and I'm using an assault rifle. The laser is a lot harder to use. When I do use it, most of my kills come from people who have already been shot up by other players. The vast majority of my WPs come from kill assists. It just doesn't have the burst of killing power that the assault rifles have.
Something I've been wondering...people come along and say weapon X doesn't require any skill. Wtf does "skill" even mean? If aiming and positioning isn't skill then the only weapon that requires any skill is the mass driver. Should we remove all weapons but mass drivers? |
