headshots do indeed deal extra damage. Scrambler pistols have easily the biggest multiplier, and it's probably safe to assume scrambler rifles will have that too when they're released. |

Assault rifle headshots deal 1.5x damage.
Aim any weapon at a friendly's head and you'll see a difference in the efficiency rating. |

Saj T wrote:Do we have different hit zones or is it all the same as long as you hit something? If you are sniping they are very important. Hitting their shoulder or torso can strip all shields and most armor but they will be moving so good luck on the next hit.
A sniper head shot will OHK nearly everybody. Some Heavies have so much shielding and armor that a head shot by a lower level weapon will do a lot of damage but not kill them. A high damage weapon will circumvent that ... if you actually hit their head that is.
For the AR I aim nearly 90% of the time. And I aim for the head. Hitting someone from behind, flank or above will take them out with few rounds. While not hitting the head may take the entire clip or that one and part of the next. If you are in a face off with no way to get to cover the Merc that is doing head shots will prevail over the hip shooter.
I love head shots with my HMG. Talk about going down fast and they won't get up. No medic can fix a grenade kill or a head shot. |

I heard headshots make you unable to be revived also. I haven't been able to confirm, but its a common rule in games with revive (e.g. BF3). |

Sooooo, after a kill, can I walk up and pop the corpse in the head to ensure there is no revive opportunity? |

from what I've done and have work, doesn't even have to be the head. Course still not 100% sure they didn't choose to bleed out. Also, have had my time for revive disappear after someone shot me while down multiple times so this is why I think it is so.
TL:DR - headshot = no revive; have seen revive time disappear when shot again |

If you do enough damage to their body after they go down it will force them to bleed out. AFAIK a single bullet to the head would not cause enough damage unless it was with maybe a Breach Scrambler Pistol or something. |

Yup! Scrambler pistols are truly amazing weapons. I believe their logic with the lore is that they have some nanites or whatever that really mess with the neurons which is why they do so much more head shot damage than other weapons.
Right now people are using the scrambler pistol as they would in a traditional FPS where it's merely a back-up if they run out of ammo in their assault rifle. You should be using it every time someone gets a good jump on you regardless of the ammo in your AR. If you are at half armor and your enemy is at full shields you can still win that battle with a well placed scrambler shot. It is also the best method to take out someone you've managed to sneak up on.
Oh, and it is also an extremely viable method of taking down Heavies.

But I didn't hear any sniper shot and was positive I had sniper cover.
I run logi, so don't have a sidearm. I'll have to check these out someday.

I put together a dual pistol scout. Assault Scrambler as my primary and Breach as my secondary for heavies along with a complex sidearm modifier, militia profile dampening, and level 2 light weapon sharpshooting.
Died a whole bunch at first but I'm growing attached to it. |
