Ok CCP I thought you were classier than this; why is the female scout wearing high heels? Yes, you are ahead of 90% of other games and chose to fully clothe your female characters. And we all know the Gallente are sluts but really... high heels? On a mobility suit? Come on.
And no, the heels aren't future tech that make them run faster. If they were I'd expect our male scouts to be wearing them too. Or for the female scouts to run faster. |

As you suggest it's a cultural thing. We Gallante can't buy shoes without high heels at any decent shop in the Federation. They just don't make them.
I was thinking of asking for the other empires to add them to their suits. My calf muscles really hurt when I try to wear Caldari stuff. I might have to file a Workers' Comp claim. |

Really?
CCP ... please, no. High heels have no more place on a battlefield than makeup does on a tank.

As a Gallentean male there is a reason our shops only sell high heels...
We want our wymenz to look their best! even when telling their drone hordes to murder people for the sake of their own amusement.
I for one say DOWN with the caldari and their sensible fashion!
And the amarrians? pfft robes were SOOOOO last century.
The minnies... well cant really tell their women from the men so well just let that one go. |

As a Caldari I don't want my women wearing hindering footwear. I will admire them out of battle with their armor on my floor, but while in battle the last thing I need is them tripping and falling like a model on a runway.
But you Galente can keep them, its easier to shoot someone who's fallen and can't get up... |

I have an HDTV, I sit relatively close to it. I see the game visuals with detailed clarity... and I have never noticed this.
Call me crazy but I rarely notice if a character is male or female, I'm far too occupied with actually killing/healing stuff (or with checking relevant stats in the war barge) to be bothered to notice something like this.

Male scout suit has highly detailed bionic ass that you will never unsee on your favorite dropsuit now that I have described it to you
female scout suit has high heels
cant wait to see what other violations of common sense/high fashion the rest of their dropsuit line will bring

Actually, almost all the dropsuits are high-heeled for females - save for the Heavy, whose suit covers any biological dimorphism with layers of armor
This happens in EVE too - every piece of female footwear in the game has a heel, and in fact her stance is the same even when not wearing shoes at all (try modifying your Incarnatar clothing in EVE to see this). Not sure what the purpose is, but I assume females get an implant that helps them maneuver just fine wearing them. |

Y'know, I was just about ready to applaud CCP for finally making a trailer that prominently features a female character. Assuming this is true (I've never closely examined a scout's feet) I feel like I have to retract that. |

Female scouts & assaults definitely have both high heels and the "sexxay" walk. Personally, I find it both out-of-place and hilarious because of how out-of-place it is... every time I'm on the warbarge in my sexxay assault suit a bunch of dude suits come up to check me out. |

The people designing your avatars and the people getting the gameplay mechanics working aren't the same group. Getting non-sexist outfits on our female mercs won't delay getting recoil back on ARs. |

It all boils down to hyper sexuality and our culture. What honestly pisses me off more is the birth giving hips and tig ol' bitties that round out the package. I mean really why bother on a clone intended not for reproduction, attracting a mate, or feeding young but instead for disposal in highly specialized combat. There are so many thing wrong with the whole situation. At least they got the Amarr Heavy Female model right. it looks like a dude. As all clones honestly should for the sake of combat optimization. |

Ironically, the high-heeled shoe was originally invented for men. Specifically, French noblemen in their King's court during (off the top of my head, IDK exactly)... I wanna say around the mid 1700s. When something is weird, chances are it's actually even weirder than that.
History lesson over - Although it's easier to program for a single decided stance, it would be better if the women's dropsuits were tooled for function over form - your average boot can work far better than walking on 4-inch-high stilts. BTW the Scout and Assault are confirmed to use that style. Logi is hard to tell, and the Heavy might as well be a dude under all that armor. |

The Heavy character models/movement are exactly identical whether the clone is a woman or man. The Logi has a female model (you can tell from the ****) but the walk is less sashaying. Tbh don't play as Logi much so I haven't seen personally, might actually be the same movement animation regardless of gender. |

Because it's often not something gamer girls like. Oversexualization of female characters is an oft-studied issue with serious ramifications for gaming as a medium. This is one of the reasons why there are fewer females playing games like this, and far fewer still who are open about it. Developers are not only shooting themselves in the foot by oversexualizing their female characters, but they're making themselves and their patrons (us) look like sexist douches. |

WOW! I don't know what to say. The overwhelming amount of continuing sexist comments and the blatant inability to see that in what it is that you are saying and posting stammers my brain. I thought we progressed. But alas, I can see that people are still attempting to perpetuate these out dated and archaic gender roles, classifications, and forms of linguistic imposition of pejorative complexes and means of marginalization.
Chew on that for a minute. |

HMMM did you read my post or did you just go rawr i must white knight and make myself look good?
I was making a joke based on in game stereotypes of existing races. I do however agree that putting high heels on a combat suit is pretty much just going for man vote. I for one like the heavy female model of all of them it feels like it belongs.
The rest of the models look like they took the measurements off of models and **** stars and said yea this will do. and the weird but wiggling walks the female suits make WHY?
Well if we ever get to make our own avatars you can make them look however you want (although according to the MYTHOS we all use stock clone MALE bodies in combat) |

Fair enough. This topic was on that was brought up about a month ago and got a friend of mine banned due to the focus of said thread. It was just a bit of a poke, but your response was a pleasure to hear. |

I just recently did some stalking on the battle field of my fellow female soldiers, dieing a lot in the result... I did not see any high heel boots, I just saw what looked like platform boots. Now This was on the scout I saw, and I am assuming it was since high heels + sexy female scout drop suit would make sense and not on the assault drop suit. |

I miss the old thread on this topic. It had much more lol factor.
And better arguments on both sides.
For example: Why do I have to be a fit, toned and muscular-looking guy with armour that emphasises my pecs and abs? Why can't I be clinically underweight, or a bulkier less-attractive physique with an Assault suit? |
