A few tips a vet to you rookies.
1. You will die, you will die a lot. Learn from your mistakes, adapt your stratagies, learn your gear, and improvise and improve.
2. Be careful to who you make enemies of, be even more careful who you make friends of, you may never know who may bail you out of the worst situations years from now, and who may put you in those situations.
3. Forget clans, this game has already proven how easily those bonds are breaking becuase of simple stress of diplomacy. Start thinking like a real mercenary company, or even better a real army. While logistics porition isn't in yet, command, control, and intel are. No Russian, No French? May need to get a guy who can to talk to the red army to beg them to stop stomping on you. Soon money in and money out will be a very big concern.
A few tips from New Eden to all her citizens.
1. If you can't afford to lose it, don't use it.
2. Have a plan to kill everyone, including your friends.
3. If you can't defend it, you don't deserve it. |

He's keeping an eye out for other uses of the Veldnaut. If Dust ever goes highsec, just the threat of an orbital might seriously raise the price of mercs in a certain system.
...and some trolls or Goons or something did post some threads asking for mining to be a part of the game. |

The SP system is your heart and soul. Learn it, check the prerequisites on ALL items you want, this way you know what you have to skill into.
If you are confused as to what to spend SP on, save it up and study some of the websites that will be popping up shortly. Or try and talk to one of the veterans on here/in game and get some advice.
SP is your experience points to spend for skills, if you spend them poorly, alot more deaths coming your way.

Pro tips to the newbies regarding the two game modes:
Ambush - The spawns are random to the point of stupidity, so get together as soon as you can and stay together. A large group of players keeping each other alive and well stocked with ammo while killing everyone usually win the match. A smart player will have a Hacked Drop Uplink in their suit fitting for this mode, as it allows your teammates to avoid using the random spawn system and spawn in a safe place. Just make sure that the uplink is not being camped or fired upon, as it can be destroyed.
Skirmish - You want your team to have more control points than the enemy does, so make sure that you hack and defend the ones that you know your team can hold on to for a while. Note that a skirmish match can take a while to finish when both teams are semi-competent, so its quite possible to stage a surprise comeback later on. Hacked Drop Uplinks are also useful here, especially if they are deployed near a control point.
Here is some general advice for both modes:
CRUs - Clone Reanimation Units: essentially Drop Uplinks that are hack-able and have unlimited use, but much like its smaller counterpart, is quite vulnerable to firepower. When you see one of these babies without any enemies nearby, hack it for your team ASAP, as you would be giving them a free spawn point!
Supply Depots: For all of your ammo and refitting needs. Just stand near it and it will feed your guns with yummy ammo (nomnomnom) and give you new grenades to throw at stuff. Want to change to a different suit, or is your Killswitch just not working out for you? Well you can easily change your fittings and so forth via the Depot as well. Note that it has to be your team's Depot, so make sure that it was already hacked by your team before trying to use it. Just like the CRU, it can be destroyed, so take note of that.
Turret Installations: Large structures designed specifically to be a complete Turret Kitten to the enemy, use these to defend control points or to clear out enemy vehicles during an attack. They are hack-able and destructible, so make sure your team has many of these as required. :)

I would look into the market first to see what you want in the end and then look at what skills you need to get under prerequisites (sorry for spelling). Also remember it is a marathon not a sprint. It takes a while to get most things. Lastly turn your mic on, many of us will help you during team chat.
In game press select- then highlight team instead of squad, press x then "activate chat". then ask away.

there are a number of corporations seeking new members from you new players, such as mine (Neon Genesis Guardian Core) relentless heroes, and other small corps. since many of them are small, more time will be put into training you and helping you create special tactics to fight others. in addition, as you're not just a number to them, they'll actively work to want you to be in their corp |

Tips for the Newberries: Run head on at the dude with the giant machine gun, if you're getting sniped at just stand there in the open don't look for cover and finally run into objectives by yourself even when there's multiple red dots guarding it.
Also, even if your MCC still has 50% shields and there's still time to capture objectives even tho they're all in enemy hands.....it's imperative for you to sit back and snipe from the redline. Don't use drop uplinks if you can see them on your map.
Ultraprotip: Whenever you get the chance you should try to jump on an enemy tank and throw AV grenades at it. |

It is an open Beta for a Broken FTP FPS MMO RPG game at the moment.
Ambush is a spawn camping mess while Skirmish is just Ambush with objectives in the way.
BPO cost a **** ton of real money and the SP Cap issue could be the sixth shot in a game of Russian Roulette.
Fresh Nooberries are going to be running back to MAG/BF3/COD faster than the tryhards have jumped all over the no SP cap issue. |

Two small tips for the forums and asking about things and why they are the way they are.
1. Before you post that something is OP or something is UP please try it out don't just make a opinion on what you see. Actually use the item then make an opinion and come to the forums.
2. All ways state when you are ignorant to something you tend to get more reasonable answers.
If you follow these you will be trolled less but, by no means does this mean that people will not troll you and some will just troll because it is online forums.
Welcome to New Eden hope we all have fun. |
