To make yourself harder to detect on radar, you probably need profile dampeners. |

Search for: -Basic Profile Dampener, -Enhanced Profile Dampener, -Complex Profile Dampener.

There is Also Dampening in skills too 5% per level, you need upgrade you sensor upgrade, and circuitry skill to at least level 2 as well though, in conjunction with modules in the marketplace you can be come a ninja hardass. |

Profile Dampeners are commonly used by scouts like me who like to sneak up on you and stab you in the back. They reduce your electronic signature which is what the TACNET relies on detecting in addition to line of sight. Reduce the profile low enough and you'll be able to evade even most active scanners.
The skill books titled "Dropsuit Command" and "Profile Dampening" help reduce your profile even further.
This is just for the dampeners. CCP did mention that future updates will eventually include cloaking modules that actually make you physically invisible. |

You can't make anything right now. For the time being, until the Eve/Dust markets are properly setup for it, the ability to manufacture items will be put on hold until further notice. For now, you can only buy from NPCs. |

Those two skills have equal impact, for a total of 25%+25% profile size reduction (not sure if it adds up to 50%, depends on the calculation method). You can get it further down with Dampeners, but upping those skills you can put something else in the slots.
Note that your profile goes up by 10 units if you run - so don't if you want to stay stealthy. Not sure if standing in one place reduces your profile. |

Your suit also has a scan radius (do Show Info) that is the maximum distance your TacNet "radar" will pick up anyone you can't see directly.
The Profile Dampening they are talking about reduces that range even further.
So, no it's not cloaking (not yet anyway), just someone using their stealthy skills. |

UM... Nope... cuz i know for a fact ive seen enemies cloaked in the game. Now note, i did say enemies... so ive seen this on enough occasion to have a fair point to say there are players who ive encountered who are cloaked... Once spotted and fired upon they loose their camo and the target arrow pops up on them, also if they are cloaked and you have a cross-hair over them for a sec or so, an enemy indicator arrow shows up... so ive been able to counter snipe one guy, ive killed one by happenstance, ive fired at 3 who were trying to slink into the shadows, one who fought back and gave himself away, and ive lost sight of one entirely as he made a fast escape and i suppose stood still.
It leaves me with the sense this may be like the Dev only weapons that Dice implements, or at least this may be the case for now. All in all I too have been trying to get this adaptive camo for my character... I even went so far as to start another character just to upgrade my drop suit to the point where i might be able to use the suit specific attributes, and... i have no idea how that works... Also... ive noticed the some players have been calling in mortar fire onto the battlefield... this also seems like it would be a suit specific trait... also i havent the foggiest how that action is preformed...
All that being said... I want to know whats up with these suit specific traits, and i want to know why some people have been using them while others arent given the privlage...??? |

The suit specific traits only exist in your own mind, so I cant give you any details. But if youd like to know how to call in an orbital strike check out the "squad orders" thread in this forum. |

Only profile damping exists currently. |

I am far more convinced that it is problem in your hardware(or your mind) rather than believing that CCP has implemented a module that doesn't exist in the market, has never been mentioned in any of the patch notes and only has been sighted by a single person so far.
As for people popping up on your radar, as others have said invest some points into sensor modules and profile dampening, along with dropsuit command. With the passive bonuses and the highest level dampeners you would be virtually invisible in radar. |

Suspicion: OP has seen people spawn in front of him. Spawn effect makes enemies materialise out of thin air.

This is NOT your imagination or a glitch. Some players ARE invisible/cloaked. I, too, have witnessed this often. An enemy(these players are never on my team) will "predator" into the scene using similar graphics as the Shield mods on vehicles. This effect is different from the spawn-in animation or the death-animation. Also, the figures were MOVING with sniper rifles already aimed while becoming uncloaked/un-invisible; I suspect they can't fire their weapon while cloaked.
I suspect that these invisible players with their cool tech are happy with their advantage. As the beta nears completion we'll all get our chance to go Predator in stealth - oh yes. And then...HEAD SHOT! |

We need real, concrete proof.

I just started playing this game 2 days ago, but reading through the different scout suits that were available, there were some that specifically said that they had "active camouflage." So that would sould like this "cloaking" that is being talked about. Would it not? |

Even if Cloaking devices did exist why is that a problem? This is a Beta....used for testing, and if a DEV wanted to strap one on to test a few things then big deal.
I've noticed a few things but have shrugged them off to the occasional lag spike or me playing under the influence. Moreso the latter. |

I want a suit with "active camo-"! And yeah, this could be the cloaking we're talking about. Besides, the Dev team could come in here and tell us to shut up; there's no Big Foot playing Dust but...here we are.
Anyway, the few cloaked people I saw did not shoot at me which is why I had the time to go "wtf just ghost'ed-in?!" and have the opportunity to study the animation each time to make sure it was not a glitch.
I guess, be smart: get avatar names and such from the invisible crew and ask a lot of questions. |

Which is why what you saw is most likely people who just spawn in. Spawning people will materialize out of thin air like that. They are still loading and/or not aware you are there yet.

Yes, the Suits is in marketplace at Drop Suits>Scouts> and is either a suit that you have to pay AUR for, or it is the one that is about 12,000 isk each. Unfortunately, I am at work, so I am not able to just jump right on and check at the moment.
It would be a great idea though, if they could make a web version of the market place that you could sign into anywhere to upgrade your character/suit/weapons/check SP/Ect... so that way when you get home, all you should have to do is just hop straight into battling... I think that would be a great integration. |

I have seen "invisible" enemies. it seems that after they spawn in, they have full control of their character before the 'materialization' effect finishes, it has the derez style appearance until they fire the first shot. mostly, I've seen it on people coming out of a drop-uplink unit on the center platform between the two supply depots on Ashland. |
