supported, it makes games go faster if very one sided and adds awesome new content.
the attackers could get on by either gravity lift, or drop pods launched by friendly MCC (whatever is cooler, makes more sense)
I can see players managing
ground null cannons (slow victory)
Direct assault and defense (if both MMC's shields are down either side should be able to board the other)
And clone count (attrition by death)

Would love it if they expanded the interiors of the MCC's and allowed you to board enemy MCC's to destroy them from within if not for the simple fact that it would give dropship pilots something to do. Shuttling troops from the ground to the enemy MCC would be awesome and definitely encourage more players to try dropships and open the door for the future aerial vehicles they plan on adding.
Of course it would have be to just another method to winning, just like eliminating the enemy clone reserve is another method to win. There's no guarantee anyone in the random public match would have the means to infiltrate an enemy MCC. |

Arron Rift wrote:+1 great idea!
Might I suggest boarding be done by one ship firing several grappling hooks which punch into the enemy MCC's hull, allowing the players to go ziplining into it, much like a sci-fy version of how pirates would swing onto enemy ships.
This would be AWESOME!!
I love this idea!

I still want, though I think null cannons should do less damage to extend the battle. This is to offset how fast battles could end as a result of boarding.
I also still would like to see something like Skirmish 1.0 return as a separate game mode. |

I've heard of Skirmish 1.0 but never played it. I would like this too. |

All they need to do is if you team holds all the main objectives increase the rate of the MCC gets pounded significantly.
It will end the game quicker and produce same result as the game dragging on for 10-15 minutes. Simple solution. |

That still doesn't solve the problem of the losing team struggling to take them back. |

I like this idea... but still...
When I play skirmish with just my 2 friends I know IRL it's a bit boring yes, but when I play with my Corp it's pretty fun. I find that if you play with tactics things are so much more fun because it's not "we have all the objectives lets relax" it's "WE HAVE ALL THE OBJECTIVES QUICK DEFEND THEM!!!!!!!!!!!"
Though a Titan mode would be sweet, I loved that game, having the option to destroy from the inside or the outside... but I don't think it would work out well... |

They only problem with this( i love it it sounds amazing!) is that Spawn killing would get ramped up to an all new high. Imagine you get stuck inside your MCc because there is a dropship at your jump zone??????? Even if you got out you would get mauled at the bottom because the damge zone would be gone:/ its a great idea but maybe it needs a bit more tweaking. |

Maybe we can also use transport vehicles to launch mercs to the top of the MCC. Sort of like in the BF2142 video. |

Sounds awesome, we really do need more ways to fight, other then singing our A,B,C's, we could also use more stuff on the maps, right now all our maps look like large expanses of dirt with some metal bits in between. |

It would...if the MCC remains defenseless as it is now.
EA was able to counter this by adding under mounted artillery and top mounted AA (although the AA might be overkill) it made countering ground bases easier to repel. While it wasn't unbeatable (a good ground coordination was able to keep those artillery guns hindered) they were a deterent to moving close to the underside of the Titan.
For the most part this idea could work (and would make my drop ships more useful) but with The games limitations it would not be a simple as copy pasting the mechanics of BF2142 Titan mode. |

Mavado V Noriega wrote:Is boring. Let me elaborate. Currently its a snooze fest 2/3 of the time and usually when u cap all objectives the game just drags on Solution: Make Skirmish 2.0 MORE like Titan Mode from BF2142 Right now skirmish 2.0 is a half ass titan mode + BF style conquest. For those that dont know titan mode from bf 2142 basically its skirmish 2.0 BUT u can board the enemy titan and blow it up from the inside when the shields have been dropped. Implement that in DUST. Let us board the MCC if the shields are down and either end the game quicker or if peeps are losing make a last ditch desperate attempt to win by assaulting the MCC if they get the shields down. Give us options. Add some URGENCY to the game so even a team dominating has to be ready and on their toes to counter a possible MCC boarding attempt. One thing i keep reading from ppls posts on the forum is that skirmish 2.0 lacks that urgency in battles. Thoughts guys? PS: Also bring back Skirmish 1.0 or something similar along with updating skirmish 2.0, hopefully by letting us board the MCC, to make it more exciting. +100 |

This is actually an awesome idea! I do feel the same about Skirmish being just another Conquest from BF3 and Domination from COD.
Unfortunately it seems like you're either redlining or being redlined in DUST. Either way, they game becomes less fun. |

This is a pretty good idea, though there are definite issues that would need to be resolved.
The most critical in my mind is this one; what's to stop either side from immediately storming the MCC at every match, and just focusing on grinding down resistance in the ship for the quick kill?
Say what you will about "urgency", but at least with the way Skirmish is currently handled, you get to fight through most of the map, and matches last long enough that a small chance for reversal still exists. If the MCC is killed too fast from the inside, your bound to find that most people will ignore the letters so that they can strike right at the "heart" of the enemy. This is without even getting into the kind of apocalyptic spawn camping that might come from spawning inside a ship filled with enemies. |
