The targeting is improved but could still use further refinement, however I'm going to focus this post on another aspect of the revival system, the desire to be revived.
If the current "man down" icon were altered so that it only appeared on the screen after a player hits the button to request help this would allow players who are downed control over if/when they're revived while not creating situations where a Logi gets shot and/or wastes time trying to revive someone who's going to "refuse the revive" (as per other suggestions on the topic).
On a related subject, effective revivals could be increased and time wasted reduced by connecting the current blink mechanic to the heartbeat thus signaling (among those who've requested help) the imminence of bleed out allowing true triage decisions to be made within the battle.
TL;DR
Make the revival icon only show up if help is requested. Make the flashing of the revival icon sync with the heart beat of bleed out.

I don't like the idea of not showing the Icon, because a few people are to lazy to hit it (does it anything right now???)
I would like if the icon is turning red or something like this if you hit the button (or jump or spreading stars i don't know...)

I like the Idea. One I also play medic in a scout outfit, with just reviving people. I also I have a logic outfit. What really annoys me is people who die only 20 yards from me and they don't do any thing, they don't hit request button. I go in under fire with people covering for me and when I get there, they hit respawn button. So I put me and my squad in danger for nothing. if I didn't see the icon in the first place, I would of never gone for him. |

I disagree with that, Then People will just go to their squad to revive them, even if they are further away and put them before the team. Where they might of been able do both. They go to squad member and revive them and run back and their time limit is up and they respawn. Not knowing who you are reviving helps in the fairness. |

On the other side of this I would ask y'all to consider the feedback for the downed unit. Often times I'll be down and I get the message sayin there is a triage in the area. Great! But sometimes they just aren't heading my way.
I think a lot of people bleed out because they don't know someone is on the way to stick em. Having the logis on the radar show that they are logis thereby allowing down clones to know if someone is on their way and they can wait, or if no one is on route and they might as well respawn would go a long way towards avoiding....misunderstandings. |

Both excellent ideas.
I'd also like it if, when you are downed, the friendly with a nanite injector in your area appears differently on your minimap, as a + or something insead of a circle. Just so you can see whether the nanite injector is moving to revive you, or running past you and away from your corpse, or temporarily engaging an enemy nearby but potentially coming to get you if he wins, or what. |

I very much like the idea of having some indication of their time left. Range to them would be invaluable, too.
I do like to know where there're guys down in my area that haven't hit either button yet, so that in the case that my squad and I actually get the situation under control, I know where to start looking. So, I don't really dig your idea about them being unmarked until they hit the thing, but, **** it, if it did change to that, I'd get used to that. |

You'll get more players using the better injector after CCP fixes the WP awards scaling so you're not lowing your potential awards by using higher meta gear. But that's a thread of it's own |

Cross you mind if I add?
I find myself wondering who's on the verge of losing the clone when going to revive. Perhaps, and hear me out, it is the future, and the suits would probably still work if they can call out for help.
What if a small Tag appeared above players who need to be revived that show a timer counting down to how much time their clone has to live in that downed state without giving up.
Replace the symbol with a timer. So we may prioritize. |

The same thing could be said about squadmates showing up as green dots on the mini-map, but if they showed up as blue dots instead, it would be harder to identify your squad, which is precisely the problem with nanite injectors. If you see two downed players on the ground next to each other, and you don't know which one is your squadmate, reviving the wrong player could cause your squadmate to bleed out before you can get to him. There is also no guarantee that the blueberry you just revived would stay around to let you repair his armor, or that he wouldn't get killed a few seconds later due to recklessness.
EDIT: Downed squadmates are also harder to spot when surrounded by teammates, nanohives, drop uplinks, installations, etc.
@ Banjo This could be solved by having only squadmates show up on the radar automatically. EDIT: I see now that you were talking about all players, not just your squadmates. Perhaps logistics dropsuits could be fitted with a built-in scanner that allows you to scan for downed players manually. |
