Okay, it is as simple as it sounds. A sniper that fires a triple stutter round: three high speed ballistics rounds that fire in quick succession. Each round will have lower damage than a normal sniper round, but all three together can cause high damage. Useful for: Firing on fast moving targets or running enemies. Higher odds of hitting, but lower chance of killing. It would be a balance between what kind of targets you prefer.
You already have burst everything, why not have a similar concept sniper, especially without the charge. |

I think "Burst Sniper" would be a better name, and I don't think it's a good idea to have this with no charge time.
if anything, it should have a LONGER charge time because it's charging up for 3 shots instead of just 1. |

Sounds cool, so you mean a sort of weak semi auto sniper rifle?
Since snipers can be cosidered scouts why not ad that if the bullet his its mark (of course not killing but dealing reasonable damage) it will track the traget a bit like a beacon signal to let all allies know where that traget is for a limited time say 30 seconds.
I would recomend it be weaker than the damage on a tactical sniper rifle, maybe make it like the same damage as he pistols do per bullet. Say between 50-70 damage a bullet and there being a charget between shots like 2 seconds. |

This is actually a cool idea. Id support it. But it would need a decent charge time with maybe only being able to fire twice, maybe 3 times per mag.
What about the more you charge it the more rounds it shoots but the less accurate it is? +1 |

I wish they'd put out a top-tier version of the charge sniper with high damage so I can change my name to 1shot... |

I think it would be a novel idea and see great merit in it but at the same time the Tactical snipers are the current equivilant and they don't just wound they can kill rapidly. 100RPM once the camera bounces back you can fire again instantly 2 rounds in about a second hitting anything wearing standard gear save for heavies and they're dead anyone using a burst would be better off just using a tactical. Both weaker than a regular sniper and both firing fast/multiple rounds to inflict large damage. So to implement this they'd need to do some nerfing on the tactical snipers, which they need to do anyway right now they are a tad crazy |

Basically yes. But instead of you holding down the trigger, one press, three shots. Three shots have a little time in between each bullet. Not 123, but maybe 1..2..3
I like the beacon idea! Its great for a squad scout. |

I can see that. It would be pretty cool that you can either snap off a shot or charge a bit ad fire a max of three. All three combined would be killer powerful, but you shouldn't expect to land all three due to the very nature of the gun. But yes, small clip, low ammo would even it out, along with a higher CPU req than other snipers.
+1 for the accuracy idea. Agreed. |

no child. No spraying, no praying. Simple burst sniper. You cant use a burst AR for spray and pray. How would that apply here? |

I'm curious, how would this weapon differ from a high-damage burst assault rifle with longer range and a scope? Or possibly we could think of it as a bit like a tactical assault rifle with higher damage, longer range, burst-fire (rather than semi-auto) and (to stand any chance of making rounds 2 and 3 effective) a reduction in recoil (have you *seen* the recoil on a tac assault rifle!?!)
I can't help thinking that this would be (ahem) challenging to balance .
At the moment, the two factors infantry can use to counter sniper fire are cover use and fast movement. There's a small number of what I call "true snipers" (who have my admiration) who are quite capable of sniping moving targets quite consistently. This weapon would appeal to what I call "Hill Lurkers" as it would take one of those two defences away from all other players on the field.
It's not unusual to find insufficient line infantry in a team to actually press the advance and take control points, so I certainly wouldn't want to encourage CCP to further incentivise hill lurking.
So from my point of view, no - this isn't something I'd like to see in the game. |

No, this wouldn't be a snap and shoot weapon. You still need skill, and it is not meant to hit a stationary target. It would't be effective for that. What it is meant for is moving, running targets really. And not to kill, but to wound enough for your teammates to get that kill.
But i do see you arguments. |

I'm not saying I hate the idea, but why would someone actually favor this over a normal sniper? I see what you mean about the burst to help people out so they don't quite have to be precise, but the drawbacks such as a low aptitude for kills and limited range due to scatter seem to make it less effective then a traditional sniper. |

Less effective for personal use, but potentially more effective as a long-range squad support weapon. And because you're letting squadmates get kills, it would be a perfect weapon for a Squad Leader to use. Assist + Commission = ???
Occasional kill gives you a bonus, and when you don't land the kill yourself, you set it up for that guy with a defend order floating above his head. |

Simply put it would be the range and recoil adding to the pray, and the burst may not necessarily be a spray but in a sniper it's close enough(as a side note "no child" made me think of a very elderly grandmother).
For what you want the tactical sniper rifle will fit your needs, it takes quite a bit of practice to be able to hit a moving target semi consistently but it certainly can be done(I generally will hit 1 in 3 on moving targets - rare kills but many assists).
This has great potential as a support weapon but it would need to be balanced carefully as players will be using it as a slug type medium range shotgun for enormous damage. |

Exactly! This is by no means a killing gun. It is a support gun. Perfect for scouts that are part of high precision squads, along with spotters, behind the lines gunmen, and infiltrating snipers. This marks the target and wounds him. Its up to your mates to wipe him out. OR You buddies are held down. You pump damage into the baddies, enough for your guys to push forward and get out of there. |
