So, like all of you i red the patchnotes this morning with unconcealed joy. And boy was i disappointed.... I'll stop you right now, i knew this build was about fixing the game more than adding stuff to it but even on that matter, i just dont see much going on.
For the record, the PERFORMANCE section has.... one line. Makes sense for a technical fix oriented build....
=> No reference to lag => No reference to micro-freeze => No reference to any enhancement in infantry physic model (wall of glass, collision, etc...) => No reference to timeout error => No reference to hard freeze when battle starts => No reference to long long loading time of contact list (unless the "- Optimized non-battle related networking connections" is about that) => No reference to fixing lasers (lack of over-heat on advanced, proto ; range evolution through sharpshooter) => No reference to spawning mechanics enhancement
Yet, we get stuff such as :
Quote: - Added HMG 'Doom mode'- a new gun camera firing position - Lowered HMG zoom FOV from 65 to 60 degrees - Increased HMG zoom speed by 0.2 seconds - Reduced Burst HMG fire interval
=> How in hell is that usefull ? or even remotely needed at this time ? What about breach AR then ? And SMG ? getting just a decrease in recoil ? What about range ? Guess it's all about heavies love...
also :
Quote:- Reduced the damage gap between Standard, Advanced, and Prototype tiers of all handheld weapons
Is that serious ? People already play most of the time with militia shotgun, or AR or anything because the difference isnt that big when using damagers. they're actually reducing the gap even MORE. I dont see how that's a progression in gameplay really.... Imo, it's another way to catter, once more, to crybabies. Soon, there'll be no difference between any tier of module\weapon except for their PG\CPU consumption..... And it seems like a very weird decision to make in a build supposed to be fixing things..
I'm not very confident for this coming build... I'll wait and see till i get to actually play it.. But i have a very bad vibe about it. Yet, kudos on fixing the grenade animation, and improving swarm launchers. Even though, it wont be enough imo. |

+1, waiting for deployement to test it before final feedback...
One thing : Sensitivity is now equal in all directions when aiming down the sights with any weapon
Does this mean that Heavies with HMG or FG will turn as fast as Scout ?

After 2 month and a half, we could expect better than 1 line in Performance section ... Of course, it does need a test, wait and see... |

No, it means that the sensitivity is the same in both the X and Y directions. One of the weird issues in the present build is that the Y-axis sensitivity is lower than the X-axis sensitivity, and you can't change it whatsoever. This isn't that bad when you're using a DualShock 3, but it's kinda annoying with the mouse and keyboard. |

Ive gotten past the notion that a single patch will make things alright. This games has so far to go that they simply can't cram a AAA FPS into a single patch now. Judging from these notes, its another big step in the right direction. I'm sure it won't be everything I dream of but I am curious to see how it plays and may be more interested in actually troubleshooting issues now. |

I have to say am disappointed too mostly because they didn't give us the co-op mode also there is no mention of increasing corp battles player counts i mean after playing 16 vs 16 on the tourny 8 vs 8 corp battles doesn't appeal to me and feels boring oh well i guess i'll test how the new mods for the HMG works.
edit: also what Cazaderon said about the performance issues |

What i'm disappointed most with is there apparently isn't that much new content yet. I know the new weapons are coming but i see no mention of maps or even if the 5 objective skirmish maps are fixed and back.
Also, no progression on the interaction with EVE yet. |

Heavies didn't get love just because HMG got useless buffs. We really really needed our proto suits to be more affordable so we can compete against players like the imperfects who don't have a single heavy in there ranks for a reason.
This build - huge disappointment. But maybe the new maps will be cool >_> |

honestly guys. i never expected 16vs16 or much new stuff in the coming build. The build is supposed to be oriented on the technical aspect of the game. And the lack of informations on that matter inside the patchnotes is what disappoints me. Maybe all of the major bugs and issues are fixed but then, why not mention it ? |

What i read was that the new build has 4 "variation" maps. So it doesn't really sounds like new maps. Either way, i miss the big 5 point skirmish maps. When they didn't lag, they were cool. |

it's probably the variations we had during the previous WE event. Wich is good as they were pretty damn good maps. More action packed as they said. |

and here i was thinking that the purpose of a beta was for a developper to see expectations from the players in order to enhance their game.
Foolish me. Beside, if you had red the post, you would have notice it's not about "me wants more guns" or "me wants more game modes".. |

- New LAV sounds added
But hey!! lets all get upset at CCP listening to players that do not! like being run over by silent LAVs!!
Yes! there are more items in the patch than what are in the patch notes so please before doing clone suicide at least play the new build a few days then post about it. |

Not opposed to this. As a Tactical Assault Rifle user I pulled a lot of stupid **** that I honestly shouldn't have survived just because I was using an Advanced variant. You don't notice the damage difference until you tie in skills like Weaponry and Assault Rifle Operation. Then that 67.5 damage looks something like 84.4 for every bullet.
Edit: Had the numbers off - but the math is still right just as an example. -Shrug.- |

For your information. Most weapons arent projectile based...... They're insta hit with random bullet spread. ARs, SR and most bullet weapons for instance. Meaning that they arent any actual bullets being fired.....
So this doesnt apply at all....... Also, if lag was just about weapons, it would be a relief.... but it isnt.

For your information. Most dropship/tank/LAV missile weapons are projectile based...... LAG being caused by projectiles from vehicles is now better or its fixed.
Fixed.
And its not like every single match!! that folks call in LAVs with PROJECTILE turrets on them!!! What with FREE being such an expensive price for those militia LAVs
And did I mention tanks?? yes those lag producing projectiles can also be produced by them! Imagine that. |

Way to speculate. How does fixing the lag of the few projectile weapon fixes the lag in the rest of the game ? |

Exactly. Agreed. And the first time that Laurent was in battle versus me I had a prototype AR and he had a militia AR and one second later and Laurent was off to respawn heaven AKA deadsville. |
