Our vehicles didn't have 1 driver and 2 gunners each, so no it wasn't 9 people sitting in vehicles. We actually had 9 people on the ground in our matches. |

I can't speak for SI, but for both ROFL and Imperfects, we didn't fill the vehicles to the brim with people. Tanks usually only had the driver, dropships usually only had one gunner. Most of the infantry for both teams were meant to advance/repel in attack/defense roles.
Just because you have a small missile turret on a tank doesn't require that you fill it, and generally speaking in high level play, the infantry are better off not being in the turret. The secondary logic behind this is, whenever that vehicle is taken out of play [which generally isn't a question of if, but *when*], nobody wants to see 3 clone kills scored, but rather 1 or none.
All three groups ran strong vehicles with differing plans, for Imperfects it was usually 4 (instead of 5) with 1-2 dropships, 1-2 tanks, for ROFL it was 4 tank 1 dropship, for SI I suspect it was a similar setup.
I don't recall anyone with a full vehicle though, it'd be a waste of talent to keep good infantry (of which all three teams in question have) inside turrets. |

I could take your word for it. But from what I see the typical set up for tanks is 1 driver 2 gunners same as drop ships. |

... Uhhh, you probably should take his word for it. I fought them and know what they brought out, I know how we fought too. Lol.
Pubbies love to crowd tanks for the missile spam turrets, but high level group play is different. You don't crowd tanks, if an infantry guy must get inside a tank, it's almost exclusively to 1) temporarily transport at a faster rate from one objective to another, or 2) temporarily avoid getting killed if hitpoints are low to a likely killshot.

They don't fill the vehicle but you have to keep in mind you then need 4-5 AV people leaving still 4-5 real assualt people on the ground or less. (not sure if some of those 4-5 are snipers but you still see the point that there isn't much infantry battle for a point, more vehicle with infantry just there to hold circle and possibly shoot a few guys).
I'd like to congratulate team Aldin, he really pulled out the win. Also it was nice playing with those imperfect guys, too bad I didn't get to play much in the tourneys but I figured I wasn't needed much. |

Alldin quick question who told you how to fit your tank???? :P
But yes it was not just alldin that won the match. Yes he provided a very important assest. But his asset would not be as powerful as it was without the infantry to steam roll over there side and considering everytime my dropship appeared over your spawn or near you guys hell even accross the map I would have 5+ plus guys trying forge me, hit me with a rail tank, or swarm me. means I drew alot of fire power away from alldin. :) And I am also guessing lots of people where pissed at my dropship so therefor it was a primary target. Which made alldins life very easy.
Also Tiels tank hits alot harder then aldins. :)
And considering our infantry held the top spots on the last match proves that they where very important and did lots of work.

It took about 3.5 seconds for someone to get a laugh out of what I said, it took roughly the same amount of time for you to get butthurt over it. I consider this 10/10.
Now if you'll excuse us, those that participated in the tournament with relevant insights and opinions have discussions to get back to - I'm sure you'll see your way out now. Perhaps you should go post some more wisdom from Twain and see if that helps QG send email attachments in future tournaments.

So what you're saying is...
You wrote up some wonderful statement for our viewing pleasure (at your expense) and then opted to edit it before anyone could read it, all the meanwhile maintaining the position that replying to me isn't worth your time.
Yet...here we are, you're contradictorily replying to your statements.

Question: Are damage bonuses on railguns broken? The best I can see is 65% (3*10% modules + 35% skills). I don't remember seeing a 4k damage railgun on the market. Your math is off, again, there are stacking penalties so it goes 100% of rated, 70, 50. each one loses effectiveness. |

Vehicles do not win the match. They contribute but you need more then just vehicles to win. So yes they are important. But they are not OP or the I win button. SI and ROFL both ran heavy on the vehicles yet aka having up to 6 vehicles out at a time while we where running 3 yet we won. And SI and ROFL both have some of the best tank players in the game.
As these guys said it above me yes not using vehicles in corp matches is asking to get destroyed. Dust is not just another FPS. It is ment to be tactical. Only thing that sucks is this hurts pub matches but when you get corp v corp matches it enhances them.
And I'm glad that you are recognizing the key issue here...pub matches. In corp battles, they are fine because you have your AV guys set up and online and ready for the match. But everyone usually plays in random matches and it really blows. Because your corp may have a few guys on and your forge gunner or heavily specced AV guys may not be in the game with you.
Then you're stuck with the blowhards bringing in their dropships in the match with minimal counter. And it'll be the same guys that oppose infantry only maps. Vehicles are apart of the game and they are welcome for battles. But these vehicles aren't easy to take out by yourself so they dominate in pub matches. |

umad? (Sorry, this is the only response I can give anymore to people crying about vehicles)
About Railgun tanks.. I want one to shoot the RDVs down.. I'mma make the bestest railgun tank in the whole world and then I'm going to put it on a Mountain or a Roof, and shoot RDVs down, including friendly ones. yay. :D (That was my first thought when I was on comms hearing how SI's **** was being blown up before it even landed) |

Erf, makes me even sadder knowing that the railgun counter has been effective.... That's what we had planned for quarters finals vs you guys SI until both match got CCPed through freezes and crappy organization.
Flying railguns max skilled to take down dropships/HAVs and shot any Bolas even in spawn. Take the fight on the infantry ground where we would have been more at our ease. Crap.
Anyway, congrats imperfects and every participants ! |

I've seen aldins tank in the works...its a b**ch to take out...period. The imperfects are good, and as of right now...the best... i think the tournament proved that. Whether Tritan or STB was in the tournament or not. Imperfects won...its a game of strategy to be honest. thats why they put dropships and tanks in this game...its warfare.
All infantry cant take down a well skilled pilot of a tanks and dropship, especially if thats what they have specialized into. i've seen two forge gunners put multiple shots into Aldins tank...me being one of them and barely get its shields down. Face it...the guy knows his tanks. As well does Ted from STB
Tanks and dropships can be a pain in the arse in matches, but they are vital in this game whether we like them or not...the best teams will utilize every aspect of infantry and vehicles they can in their teams and squads. that is what will win games...Imperfects just so happend to have the best balance of skilled infantry players, a skilled tank player, and a skilled dropship pilot...im sure they have skilled forge gunners too. Which in the end is why they won the tournament. |
