Vehicles do not win the match. They contribute but you need more then just vehicles to win. So yes they are important. But they are not OP or the I win button. SI and ROFL both ran heavy on the vehicles yet aka having up to 6 vehicles out at a time while we where running 3 yet we won. And SI and ROFL both have some of the best tank players in the game.
As these guys said it above me yes not using vehicles in corp matches is asking to get destroyed. Dust is not just another FPS. It is ment to be tactical. Only thing that sucks is this hurts pub matches but when you get corp v corp matches it enhances them.
Aside from our first match I felt ROFL gave us tougher matches |

Ahhh Right there says it all. they where as good as our infantry that was lagging out hardcore on there EU servers. lol.
Bold says it all. Need the lag in there favor to be as good.
But come on quit coming up with excuses guys. It was a good game and well fought. Just leave it at that. |

From what I understand CCP does have all the games recorded in spectator mode. This means that they can move freely within the video and rewatch it from anywhere I think. I could be wrong about watching it anywhere within the game.
But I think CCP mentioned to one of our members on IRC that they might be recording and able to show the videos at later dates if all works out well. Got to remember this corp tourney is just one big test for CCP so they can learn how to improve things and also learn how to fix there tools or make there tools work correctly aka recording matches being one of those tools. |

Going up against SI proved to be a challenge. Though they did not bring as many sturdier tanks as ROFL, I had to constantly analyze the positioning of enemy vehicles to get safe shots with my railgun (5,400+ dmg). Uplinks were also being used in massive amounts to the point were I would've carried a metal detector if I was on foot. For trying to go around the middle road I ended up having an enemy dropship shoot me from above twice, but thankfully it wasn't enough.The one guy who truly stood a chance of blowing up my tank was Ty Borg (lost 2 or 3 tanks out of 4 by Ty). I would've have lost a 5th tank but fortunately I had a LAV outfitted with 2 remote shield reppers to restore my shielding at one moment in the second round. Once my team made a push in the battlefield I was able to take down some dropshis before they could even leave their spawn as well as taking down multiple tanks (2 did survive drops from bolas). Overall, this was great experience for me as a tank driver and hope to be in future tournaments. |

So why did we lose then? The 6000+ damage pershot tank was the single biggest advantage you guys had. You need to learn the difference between people accepting a reason we lost from people making excuses. |

If ccp really wants to know how to balance AV and vehicles Corp matches are the best case study. This does go to show the uselessness of swarms and a need for balancing, mainly because I use them . Good job guys, I am sure there will be more battles in the future. |

It's over 6000 damage. My Sica went from 5900 shield into burning wreck in 1 shot :( Yes I brought militia tanks to the biggest fight on Dust.
Question: Are damage bonuses on railguns broken? The best I can see is 65% (3*10% modules + 35% skills). I don't remember seeing a 4k damage railgun on the market. |

Hmmm last time I check you guys where able to do the exact same fit if you guys had the skill and the knowledge to do so. All I'm reading is excuses is because all you guys had to do was take out one tank. You guys understand that it was just 1 tank right?
Our advantage was better personal skill, better strategy, and where better at adapting to what was presented to us. One tank didn't decide the game, it was a team effort. |

Was that his tank or mine? I have one that hits harder than his, or you might have been one of the unlucky few that got synched shots from us at the same time.
Also, damage bonuses are multiplied, not added, so two 10% = 1.10*1.10 = 1.21 etc. |

You do realize that you are saying that one rail gun tank, which is anti-vehicle, stop over half your team right. That is sad when you guys brought out plenty of tanks and forge guns yet couldn't over run a single tank or even surpress a single tank. Any sane person can read that you are putting up an excuses. " oh no we lost because of a single tank, I forget that there is 14 other players supporting each other. Hey guys seriously though, we had 4 plus tanks, 2 forges, and 1 dropship. We couldn't kill one dps tank."

If I didn't realize how important he was, he wouldn't have been in the games. One tank didn't win the game, he didn't go beast mode and capture all the points, killed all the infantry and all the vehicles. SI Was expecting a little to much out of there tanks I think. And hoping on there snipers killing our forges so they could run the tanks over us. It was a very solid tatic but in the end our infantry is set up of very very solid gun game people. With out that there is no taking objectives or holding them.
So there was alot more then just vehicles.
Vehicles are pretty well balanced. If we nerfed vehicles much more I think tourney and corp v corp matches would be a bore. It is excitement. Dropships did not dominate the game play at all in corp matches because if you got a good corp they are a very very easy thing to shoot down. I think it is just pub matches are effected badly by vehicle gameplay because randoms have trouble working together to take down tougher and smarter vehicle players.
I think anyone who played corp matches would agree that tanks/dropships/infantry all are needed and all played a very equal roll. And vehicle spamming will not win the game.
As Dark cloud said we had skills put in the right place and our vehicle users where very good at what they do.
Each vehicle has 1 driver 2 gunners 3 vehicles means 9 guys sitting in vehicles. Not many ground troops left after that.... |
