The dark cloud wrote:their railgun tank was the counter to our dropships. 1 hit= destroyed. And the dropships simply hammered the infantry after that they proceeded with the infantry to take objectives. They wouldnt had won by just pure infantry game on their side. Every 1 who doesnt deploy vehicles in a serious corp match is a idiot.
Not the friendliest way of saying it but the most accurate. When it boils down to it, not utilizing vehicles [properly] against an opponent that does is asking to be crushed. |

Ultimately I think all three teams in question ran vehicles in the strongest way they could, but Imperfects simply used them more effectively. It's among the lessons learned and it was a good experience at high level play in Dust 514. Some portions of the fighting weren't as intense or exciting due to vehicle intervention, but overall no one is questioning gun-game here, the teams that made it to the end have enough of it to warrant them being there.
I enjoy fighting the Imperfects because I know I'll get a solid fight, I enjoy fighting Seraphim [when we get a chance to] as your guys know how to use vehicles effectively, and I'm sure both teams have had similar experiences fighting ROFL.
:) Hopefully there's another tournament in the near future and we can try our luck again. Congrats to Imp and SI. |

I can't speak for SI, but for both ROFL and Imperfects, we didn't fill the vehicles to the brim with people. Tanks usually only had the driver, dropships usually only had one gunner. Most of the infantry for both teams were meant to advance/repel in attack/defense roles.
Just because you have a small missile turret on a tank doesn't require that you fill it, and generally speaking in high level play, the infantry are better off not being in the turret. The secondary logic behind this is, whenever that vehicle is taken out of play [which generally isn't a question of if, but *when*], nobody wants to see 3 clone kills scored, but rather 1 or none.
All three groups ran strong vehicles with differing plans, for Imperfects it was usually 4 (instead of 5) with 1-2 dropships, 1-2 tanks, for ROFL it was 4 tank 1 dropship, for SI I suspect it was a similar setup.
I don't recall anyone with a full vehicle though, it'd be a waste of talent to keep good infantry (of which all three teams in question have) inside turrets. |

... Uhhh, you probably should take his word for it. I fought them and know what they brought out, I know how we fought too. Lol.
Pubbies love to crowd tanks for the missile spam turrets, but high level group play is different. You don't crowd tanks, if an infantry guy must get inside a tank, it's almost exclusively to 1) temporarily transport at a faster rate from one objective to another, or 2) temporarily avoid getting killed if hitpoints are low to a likely killshot.

I'm very glad you can rely on the wisdom of others, seeing as how originality eludes you like being in the tournament eluded STB.
:) Have a nice day. |

It took about 3.5 seconds for someone to get a laugh out of what I said, it took roughly the same amount of time for you to get butthurt over it. I consider this 10/10.
Now if you'll excuse us, those that participated in the tournament with relevant insights and opinions have discussions to get back to - I'm sure you'll see your way out now. Perhaps you should go post some more wisdom from Twain and see if that helps QG send email attachments in future tournaments.
With much love, Your friend truly, Tyrvoth. |

So what you're saying is...
You wrote up some wonderful statement for our viewing pleasure (at your expense) and then opted to edit it before anyone could read it, all the meanwhile maintaining the position that replying to me isn't worth your time.
Yet...here we are, you're contradictorily replying to your statements.
Please, continue to fill my golden chalice with your tears, frustration, lost hopes and dreams, etc, etc. |
