How to kill a tank if every time you hit it, it runs into the red zone?
I really don't understand that, if a tank is worth 1mill ISK and my suit is with 200mill ISK wouldn't i at least kill the tank every 5 times i die?
Make heavies king of AV even if you have to pay 1mill for all the stuff. Can tank drivers even know the map their fighting because they never leave the red line?
If tanks are sighted by one on your team mates, you can lock onto it anywhere. |

I understand you completely. I have nothing to Englishsnake, but when it comes to the battle he is high on my list in this build. My biggest success so far was to pinned him down with 25% shield left and force him to run. Maybe even I killed him once before in the heat of battle, but my memory stuck on that "25%" occasion . I remember that when first time I used Breach Forge Gun I thought "In future that's gone be best weapon to break spider tank with friend or two". Now it seems to me that it is an effective method for all shield tanks - ambush tank with 2x BFG and one AFG just to be sure, and he is dead. You can also use the OB at the right time, when tank driver is trying to run. DS are also useful because of extended red-line for them. |

Shield Tank: Fulx nades (Cook the nades they take longer) and energy based weapons to strip shields (blasters, rails, lasers) missiles (swarms) or forges for the rest
Armor Tank: Strip small layer of shields then same as before missile turrets, swarms, Higher level AV nades or forge. Explosive dmg works best on this type.
Work as a team and you can kill tank and Dropships
In the red zone: You have 20sec in red tell dead. Send Dropship in and have a militia fit with flux, remote explosive and swarm. It's a one way trip remember.Flux first then boom. Try to have a swarm or forge in wait to strike once shields down.
Thats all I got and GL

this is what you get for taking the passive resistance away from tanks. paper thin glass canons who stay next to their redline. Its your own fault that tanks are not agressive anymore so stop complaining about it. After all you get what you deserve and in this case tanks spamming missile at infantry that dares it to get into their line of sight. |

First of all, tanks almost never had to run away before the nerf because they never needed to, which just speaks to how OP they were.
And secondly, it's not as if tank drivers never retreated to protect their tank even in those very rare cases when they had to back then. |

You reap what you sow
2 builds ago they have passive resistances 25% if i remember and DC worth about 15% i think and that was when it required TEAMWORK to take out a tank, but no ppl didnt like using TEAMWORK and they wanted to be able to take on a tank on its own and win, they wanted to solo the top tank on ther own with a basic AV loadout and they actually got what they wanted
A 1.8mil tank getting solo'd by a 20k AV fit? Maybe i know a Gunlogi can defo die to that a sagaris maybe only a slightly bit harder but still doable, its tank isnt thats solid, its passive resistance mods suck and the active ones require timing which you can only do if you see the threat before it hits or the forge gunner charging up but even then most times the forge gun hits you cold from anywhere and causes max damage
You cant swap to armor really, swarms will murder it with the extra buff they got and they are slow and hybrids got no love since the railgun is prob meh to use and the blaster is short range
Missiles is all that is left because the community cried about the railgun that much its nerfed into useless mode
I do a see a bit of teamwork now and again trying to take out my tank, forge gun attack from an LAV with an OB overhead but most times what i see is the basic swarms from the otherside of the map bending around my cover and hitting me, forge gunners sniping me from across the otherside of the map hiding behind a little hill in a safe spot
Even the teamwork i see is what 3 forge guns attack me, all with the assault forge gun for the quick firing time yet the entire 3man crew ISK wise is prob les than 100k and less than 30k for the fitting and a very small amount of SP to boot yet it can cause serious damage against the top tank in this game
Cloud is right tanks are now defensive, its got a paper tank why venture out so far when 1 forge gun hiding in the mountain somewhere can snipe you and take a good 1/4 of your shields, when swarms can lock on from anywhere because someone else is looking at you then locking on from behind the mountain popping out and firing then hiding again and locking on while the missiles bend around your cover and still hit you
Tanks are on that hill spamming missiles because AV is at the otherside of the map spamming its own stuff at the tank, its safer for my glass tank and is the only option left because armor and hybrids are useless

This thread is lol worthy.
People cried last build when tanks would be in the middle of the map dominating, so they got nerfed. When all it took was two guys with forges working together and people not using that crap "Heavy - Shock" loadout that 90% of the player base used.
Now someone sits in the red zone dominating, whilst trying to protect their massive investment and you cry again. Whilst it's not my idea of fun I really don't blame them tbh. There's more than enough counters out there if you were bothered about it that much. Instead people seem to be obsessed with buffing their "gun game", then whining about tanks when they have no AV, go figure.
Grow some balls the lot of you and stop crying about stuff you obviously can't afford or don't even want to bother countering. There's plenty of counters to tanks, thanks to the infinite whines out there and dropships being invincible, yet you all seem obsessed with trying to kill them with the easy free option then whine about it. I know because I experience the idiocy daily.
There's very few names that I can mention who use decent swarms in game, so few that I can probably name them on one hand.
As for the forge users out there, there's quite a few but those who know how and where to be are few and far between. People seem to miss how OP this weapon is tbh, it's the second most versatile weapon in game next to the AR, but I doubt people here will see that or even admit to it.
The idea that you suit equals 100k or whatever is also meaningless. It doesn't mean you deserve to kill it within a certain amount of deaths at all, if anything it's probably how much you need total from a team to invest to kill it. You know, using teamwork maybe?. Perhaps it means that no? |

For most tanks camping the redline, the problem ISN'T the redline, and ISN'T the tank.
The problem is that their missiles can outrange your draw distance.
You can't see them, you can't get someone close enough to see them, but they can use teammates OUTSIDE their redline to spot for them, and bombard you from stupid ranges.
Fix that, and they'll have to move forward. |

But the SL can lock on from the otherside of the map and do the same thing that the missiles do except the SL missiles can bend around the corner
Also the forge gun has done this also sniping away on the hill
So that would mean all 3 would have to be changed then

All you need is a sniper in cover aiming at the tank and it gets displayed red for the whole enemy team so dont be silly. What you are complaining is that your scanning ability is just low and it has a max range. Snipers in scout suits can abuse this aswell by using profile dampeners. They can shot you from all the way from the other side off the map and you wont see a red dot at all. |

Draw distance on this build is huge, but it's not tied to targeting range. And yes, you CAN get a lock on a tank from outside your scan radius with Swarm Launchers if you have someone spotting for you, but you DO have a range limit with them, and even if you get a lock, sometimes the missiles won't reach the target - and NOT because they hit an obstacle, just because they vanish after flying a certain distance. Missile Turrets can fire further than Swarm Missiles can travel.

Damn right
My large missile turrets should outrun swarms tbh because they are small missiles and the large turret uses large missiles |
