If so, I hope you reported it to CCP, in addition to posting here. This type of behavior is... let's just say bad and leave it at that.

~_~ I know everyone wants to win the tournament, but DoS over one likely negligible blueprint, a t-shirt and a mousepad are not really worth that for any sensible person.

If you know something is up, you should immediately inform CCP with whatever actual conclusive data [if any] you have to support it. Throwing it around in the forum won't really help anything other than to incite speculation, suspicion and drama, but telling CCP if there's a credible problem is just common sense.

Guys we ALL should have known there were going to be disconnections, and that they were somehow going to have an effect.

I DOUBT very much that anyone actually manipulated that into their favor.

My guys suffered a series of disconnections on our second match the first Saturday of the tournament, but were not crying about it. It could have happened to either of our teams. Fact is, if we did what we did for the first battle *(restarting all of our ps3's to mitigate disconnects), we may have done better in the second battle. BUT I highly doubt it would have been a game changer anyways.

PRESENT FACTS PLEASE, because implicating people (anyone), for something trivial, is not only unfair, but poor sportsmanship.

I honestly find it hard to believe that CCP (who's been running EVE servers now for 10 years) does not have the IDP in place to identify a DoS during actual game play.

I mean come on guys...they're running this tournament for testing purposes...you really think they don't have all hands on deck when these games are running to monitor all systems and then looking back at the data to further analyze it?

CCP would have no idea if an individual was being DoS attacked, as it occurs from outside of the game and against the victims IP address. The best CCP could figure out, was that somebody was having really bad lag or a network disconnect/timeout.

If somebody tried to DoS their servers, then yes they would know... but against an individual, they wouldn't have a clue. As there would be no data flowing in/out of their servers to come to that conclusion. In the victims network, yes... but not within the Dust servers.

The best part of dark clouds lies is that a DoS attack on Dust game servers would 1 effect both teams and 2 be easily blocked by CCP.

The only real way to cause an issue is to launch a DoS on the individuals on the other teams. Since they probably wont give you their IP when asked I think this is another pile of **** from dark cloud.

Call it "bestest" PR if you want but its a fail troll and makes your corp look stupid.

So SI is accusing Zionshad, Imperfects, or ROFL House of cheating. Guess when you can't beat them you have to dimish the expected beatdown.

CCP i would advise to monitor all incoming and outcoming data from all players. Because you can actually win something. You never know if some 1 could pull off a DOS attack. Not calling names or corps but there are rumors out there. Simply saying making people to lag out/disconnect from tourny matches.

I've been playing this game since March ( IF YOU HAVENT PLAYED SINCE MARCH GTFO OF THIS THREAD) I've been here since before people knew sleek AV grenades were OP against infantry.

Yeah I've been watching old DUST gameplay footage for the past 20 minuets and am honestly wondering what the hell happened to this game. It's a shame that a game that had so much promise has gone this far south so fast.

Skirmish was much more structured and consisted of attack and defense. Skirmish 1.0 promoted team play and forced structured battles with actual killzones. (IE. people didn't have to run around the map looking for the next person to kill) Battles were action packed meaning they were never boring there was alway something to do.

Gun battles promoted skill. Yes there was a rock paper scissors concept, but that didn't stop a better player from besting somebody regardless of their dropsuit or it's meta level.

Sniping took skill it wasn't the BS we have today where little kids hide in the hills and average 1 kill per game by getting that lucky kill off of somebody.

Gameplay was fast and frantic. It was unlike any game released within the past 4 years. It took elements of all the great shooters and rolled into one game. This game was everything COD wasn't but then CCP opened the flood gates and let some noobs ruin what could have been one of the most skill based hardcore unforgiving FPS games created.

wide open maps with little kids hiding in the mountains as snipers
camping
headglitching into "cover"
slower gameplay than killzone 2 (which had realistic recoil and movement in comparison to most games)
COD style gunfights where whoever sees who first wins
terrible spawn points
ZERO RECOIL STANDARD AR's
terrible burst rifle (people have been asking for 3 round burst since match)
worthless breach AR's gimped beyond the point of use and CCP knows this but allows the noobs to run around with zero recoil standard AR's.
Broken tactical rifles in which people are easily able to use mod controllers with ( my friend has tested it with his mod controller)

This game in it's current state isn't fun to play and down right terrible in comparison to what it used to be. CCP seriously needs to stop dumbing the game down to the point where people won't want to bother with this game, because the gameplay will be no different than the CODs BFs and MOH's.

Noobs that couldn't aim ruined this game.

I still insist that Dark cloud sounds like Arnold Schwarzennegger. Best PR choice just for that reason alone. Now if only we can get him to say "Get to da choppa!"

We've got nothing to prove at all, we're in it for ***** and giggles. We sure wouldn't go to the effort of trying to break up our corp and merge with another just to win a BETA tourney, but what do I know eh?.

Oh and BTW Dust has its own servers. Dust is the only game that is not hosted on Sony servers and instead is hosted on CCP servers.

PS: Any company that has a public facing website or server can be a target of a DOS attack. As a person that has worked with IT security and that has been audited by BS 7799 and SOX, I can tell you it is really easy to perpertrate a DOS on any public facing website/server. All ya need to do is figure out the IP address.

yes I know how DoS works. I've done it and worked against it both professionaly and casually :p again I don't need reminding what I said.

Well if you worked with DoS and DoS based security you will also know that DoS can be targeted at specific ports. Now assuming each client has its own specific port, it would be easier to identify whcih port contains which information. You can target individual people using that.

There are other ways to reduce a persons network time. All you need to is use the concept of mass mailing the same person. That causes a server overload which slows down the ping time between a client and server and hence the term "lag". Remember Nimda or Code Red?

But really, the community is pushing the Imperfects against the wall with these accusations and are demonizing them for things I could demonize most of you for. I've been around for quiet a while now, it's easy to see Imperfects are a bit hot headed about themselves and what they've achieved in corp battles, but I don't see them personally attacking, insulting, or demoralizing any corps just for the hell of it. Quiet of few of them actually have shown good sportsmanship. It's just those few bad eggs we call trolls that give them a bad image, but even they are friendly.

I don't know what is happening here but i don't like it, tbh i really like some of the imperfects in fact yesterday i was in a squad with William HBonney from the imperfects we had a great time also Ad Ski is a good friend of SI he use to hang out a lot in our channel and i saw Sleepy zan, mr.zitro and other imperfects (betamax previously) numerous times in our channel so why don't you guys just stop trolling each other its only a beta we are here to test it and have fun.

3 bananas, mashed

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease 10 muffin cups, or line with muffin papers.

2. In a large bowl, mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, beat together bananas, sugar, egg and melted butter. Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture just until moistened. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.

3. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and cinnamon. Cut in 1 tablespoon butter until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Sprinkle topping over muffins.

4. Bake in preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of a muffin comes out clean.
