I was wondering about the SP cap numbers?? I noticed we get 1K SP per hour so thats 168 hours per week. So passive SP is 168K per week??
But then my question : Given 500k SP per week is it active and then the 168K SP is extra?? OR. 168K passive and 332K active??
My SP is around 2M and I am getting on Tuesday 220 SP for a ten kills and 1200 WP game.
So if?? its capped at 332K SP ACTIVE per week then thats really LOW!!
Just wondering what results others are getting??

A capsuleer gets about 1.4 million SP per month. If a really active mercenary can earn 2 million then I think that's pretty good.
It'd be interesting to see if CCP could switch EVE over to a similar system. |

The passive definitely seems to be on TOP of active gain at 500.
I was able to earn nearly 620k this last week before reset so... yeah...
I'm still calculating exact numbers myself. This week (depending on what the SP deal actually is) is probably a dud for getting those numbers but possibly the one after. It does mean ignoring my ALTs to get my main to the active cap which takes me longer than some of my more hardcore corp members and common squaddies. |

Those numbers I posted are NO booster used. Three days that I played around four hours each and one day I played two hours.

I like the weekly cap. As someone who can't play everday it benefits me. It also benefits everyone who has a full time job and a family (or social life). That currently seems to be CCPs demographic. |

lol you're an idiot. It benefits no one and it will keep this game on the back burner for people. The game will fail if they keep a SP cap, mark my words.
I can hit the cap in 3 days easily. But then again, for people like you who can't play, yeah it does benefit your low scoring, no skill having games.
Enjoy the game if they keep the cap because you'll be playing against the same people over and over or you can have fun with the PVE if you like playing with yourself.

Weekly cap benefits casual players over dedicated gamers.
People who put more time into the game will, to a certain degree, be PUNISHED for doing so when playing on a weekly cap. Those who have other commitments that prevent them from getting regular playtime will be able to keep up much easier with the hardcore players.
To be honest, that shouldn't happen. They should bring back the daily sliding scale where you get diminishing returns after a certain amount of SP earnings. There should never be a zero point, but it should be possible to wear your SP earnings down pretty low. |

If ther is no cap then no lifes will just hammer up the SP and be days/weeks ahead of ppl who have jobs/family etc
No lifes complain they hit the cap, boo hoo plays another game until it resets, players who have jobs/familiy etc dont mind they can catch up to within a few thousands
CCP cannot win either way because ppl will cry for some reason or another

I for one quite like the weekly cap, sure it could use some refinements, such as being a soft cap rather than a hard cap, but all in all it allows people who have a life (job / college, social life, family etc.) to compete on relatively even footing with those whose only goal in life is to shoot a bunch of pixels at some other pixels. Name me another FPS game that penalises you for wanting to play and rank up your character, or skills, or get shinier toys.
This whole, 7 yr thing, stupidly long skill tree with no option to respec and even dumber SP cap will really make this game popular.
Er, no, it will not.
SEVEN YEARS.............. lol.
Yeah I'll play this.................. In seven years, after my passive has given me all the points to rank everything up.
So I suggest everyone create their characters on release, then come back in 7 yrs. |

Right it's a penalty. It's a joke, and that will be the reason people will not play this game in the long run.
The arguments that are coming out about "not having a life" or "getting fresh air" are from the very people who are below average in skill and are always at the bottom of the leader board for WP and lone wolf the **** out of the maps.
It doesn't take but 2-3 days to reach that 500k cap AND faster with boosters. I've said this before and will say it again, WTF is the point of buying boosters when there's a cap? Last I checked this game (and any game) is out to make money. Have a cap and boosters are pointless and therefore no one will buy AUR to purchase boosters.
With money coming into corps from EVE that will make the ISK items cheap and since you can kill just as fast with a lvl V weapon as you can with a "militia rifle" also makes AUR not necessary.
So why should I be penalized and put a few dollars into a game so we can make the losers feel good? Take your "spread the wealth" and libtard mentality elsewhere.
I'm OK with seeing guys like SI or Imperfects or Tritan or Zion, KEQ and ANNON (the corpse who work and run together as a TEAM) having a few guys with higher skills, etc... It shows that team work pays off and gives someone something to work for.

I would like to see this as a AUR booster item.
It has one use, and it can only be used to upgrade any skill by one level. it takes your passive SP and imports it into that skill. once activated, it cannot be stopped until that skill reaches the next level. You cannot use any other actively gained skill points to add to the skill once the booster has been activated. The booster will not stop until it reaches the next level.
Which means if you're trying to get to a LV 5 suit, you will activate this booster on this skill, and it'll start transferring every passive skill point into this skill. Also, because the lv 5 suit skills are over 5 million (or something like that) it would actually take you longer to upgrade then by just using active skill points instead.
it's not pay to win, it's more around the lines of "pay to not worry about it"
maybe make it cost 1000 AUR. |

Suggestion to this is quite simple, do a 85/15 or even 90/10, instead of 60/40 (as it is right now), making its good to play more matches for SP but pointless to farm, and remove cap. So avg. player will still get his 1m SP per week, while some jobless nerd will have 1.2-1.3 max. Its a same as it is right now (you get SP while you are at cap), but the word "cap" makes halo/mag/whatever nerdboys feels bad. |

Putting aside whether there should be a cap for another discussion, if there is one I think weekly is a nice compromise. I would rather get a few good sessions in and get near cap, rather than feel the need to log in each day just to get the same aggregate skill points. Much easier to coordinate for smaller clans, casual players and I don't see the downside for those on every day.
I would also much rather have the flexibility of using the 1, 3 and 7 day boosters, rather than always needing to use the 7. Conversely, CCP may prefer the latter. |
