lol you're an idiot. It benefits no one and it will keep this game on the back burner for people. The game will fail if they keep a SP cap, mark my words.
I can hit the cap in 3 days easily. But then again, for people like you who can't play, yeah it does benefit your low scoring, no skill having games.
Enjoy the game if they keep the cap because you'll be playing against the same people over and over or you can have fun with the PVE if you like playing with yourself.

This whole, 7 yr thing, stupidly long skill tree with no option to respec and even dumber SP cap will really make this game popular. Er, no, it will not. SEVEN YEARS.............. lol. Yeah I'll play this.................. In seven years, after my passive has given me all the points to rank everything up. So I suggest everyone create their characters on release, then come back in 7 yrs.
Right it's a penalty. It's a joke, and that will be the reason people will not play this game in the long run.
The arguments that are coming out about "not having a life" or "getting fresh air" are from the very people who are below average in skill and are always at the bottom of the leader board for WP and lone wolf the **** out of the maps.
It doesn't take but 2-3 days to reach that 500k cap AND faster with boosters. I've said this before and will say it again, WTF is the point of buying boosters when there's a cap? Last I checked this game (and any game) is out to make money. Have a cap and boosters are pointless and therefore no one will buy AUR to purchase boosters.
With money coming into corps from EVE that will make the ISK items cheap and since you can kill just as fast with a lvl V weapon as you can with a "militia rifle" also makes AUR not necessary.
So why should I be penalized and put a few dollars into a game so we can make the losers feel good? Take your "spread the wealth" and libtard mentality elsewhere.
I'm OK with seeing guys like SI or Imperfects or Tritan or Zion, KEQ and ANNON (the corpse who work and run together as a TEAM) having a few guys with higher skills, etc... It shows that team work pays off and gives someone something to work for.

Next time you come up with an idea try to use a functional brain. Everything you troll...I mean argue can be countered with an argument from the LARGER group of players which are casual gamers. Believe it or not the hardcore gamers that sink 4-8 hours everyday into gaming are not the majority anymore. So while you may think that devs need to cater to you and others like you who play most often you're wrong. Gaming has evolved and the game developers know this, that's why more companies are trying to make games appeal to casual gamers as well. Sorry to burst your bubble though. EDIT: Don't remember who or if it was in this thread, but someone said the devs are about making money, well casual gamers make up a larger group and also have disposable income...wait what's that...there are more of them AND they have money to spend...
That could (prob) was me Scurvy.
I have and will to this day stand on the ground of saying that a week long cap (as they have currently) is detrimental to the game. There will be times I'll only have a hour to play a night (maybe) but other times I may be able to put a hefty chunk of time in during the week and weekends.
So I burn through my weekly cap in the first 3 days....and grind the weekend getting 400-1000 sp per game? Well that's a waste of time to me to put into a game to invest into my character. Because odd's are...I'll spend AUR on higher level gear for the matches that mean something.
Otherwise...it'll be a ISK burn, and if you get ISK via corp/eve ....then why spend the time on grinding ISK?
Should there be a 3 day? 1 day? SP cap...yep, that makes more sense than a week long cap. THAT will allow the casual player to build up time and won't burn the booster time either and make them mean something.
Week long cap of 500k = fail Passive skill bonus = joke, it's not even close enough to make a difference for a HC player to a casual one.
The principle of free to play is simple...keep a player online and they'll spend money. WoW had it right by having a subscription based game and making the player put time in which meant they needed a good 6-8 months to build a character and there was plenty of things to do to keep them wanting to come back for more. What they failed to do was introduce new content to get away from the "copy and paste" format games are having these days.
The problem is this...with what we've been shown (that's the key to this) and to have the SP cap in place...isn't making this game all that interesting and different from anything else. Which in turn will diminish the player base and it'll become a niche game and be forgotten.
So all we can do is hurry up and wait to see if what they have planned is worth it.
It's because we're all waiting, playing the same maps over and over and playing the same people with nothing new on the horizon to look forward to that we're here, picking apart what we know not fully aware of what other things will be introduced to maybe alleviate the SP cap concerns.
It would be in the best interest of CCP to start putting out more info for the players of stuff that's going to be in the game AND working.

IKR, don't they have a person or group in place to give us information on the game? Not trying to be a pain, but if they have fixes then they could at least give us something about it. I guess their focus right now is the tourney so they can actually watch the game mechanics first hand and see what people use most, etc. I remember reading somewhere from a dev post(or maybe heard it on a blog) that they are working on making a soft cap instead of a hard cap, so maybe after you hit the 500k your SP gain gets reduced to 1/4 of what it was or something. I don't really want to see the week cap go away because if they shorten it then casual gamers will have a HUGE disadvantage, and if they lengthen it then hardcore gamers will have even longer of no/low gain. A week is perfect because if casual gamers only get a day or 2 to play then they can grind their way to the hard/soft cap on those days, and a hardcore gamer only goes a few days without, but I guess those few days are rather annoying...
No sir, you're not a pain. The one's who are the pain IMHO are the posters who claim someone who has no life, or to get outside, etc... I have as much responsibility as the next guy/gal but I still get game time. *shrugs*
Anyways...yeah they have a thread going of what they fixed or working on (for bugs).but what about the stuff that we see in game that has the "Soon" on it?
What's that? How will it effect SP? Does ALL SP get counted towards the cap? Will we have in game accomplishments that will count towards the cap?
So do you see the problem with the cap?
Add all those speculations into it...and all of a sudden the casual player hits the cap in 1 or 2 days as well...then all of a sudden his wife goes out of town for a weekend to her mom's and he's left with 400-1000k per match when he could have been making so much more and progress on his character and doing a little catch up!!
