Very good fight ? Meode in its dropship turret did 25% of the work. Swarm launchers and FG woulnt hit it at all. Also, turrets pretty much OSing people ? And two tanks did half the rest of the job.
I may have had 4 real infantry fights overall. I watched scores and in the end. Half of the SI team with the main vehicles and it would have ended the same way. You could have played without trying to get any objectives and you would have clone depleted us anyway.
Conclusion : An interesting fight to show real flaws in the game at this stage. Vehicle turrets are way too powerfull imo.

yes the forgeguns did actually hit. And it was MY DROPSHIP. Sir Meode is my dedicated gunner on this. Lost 3 dropships overall but i know about air support and stright called in a new 1. |

If we wanted to win we should have played with 3 myron so GG to you. yet it doesnt change the fact that we had planned counters for those overwhelming vehicles and even if we took down 2 or 3 of those dropships, they kept comin back and were almost untouchable compared to the damage they were inflicting.
It's a tournament beta. Should help tweak the game. That's why it is interesting to talk about it. |

Also, we played a map favoring vehicles as it s pretty wide open.
We could have done better no doubt about it but it s way harder when you need almost half your team to counter one vehicle with two guys in it. |

We expected it. And had things planned but they were pretty much inefficient basically. At some point, almost every ones effort was focused on it. And even then it still had the upper hand. Not mentionning that the rest of SI was having a fun time while we were at it.
We couldnt just say "hey let's have a myron ourselves like that" in less than 2 weeks lol. I wont say everything we had as tourney still rolls but believe me when i say we had A LOT of things planned ^^ |

We were prepare : Forge, Swarm, an a small tank, but with fire power. Some of us skilled to be AV, but 1 - Swarm are useless, even if you skill in it, and 2 - with the lag (that we all have), Forge and Tank can't aim properly a Flying Dropship All Around with OP turrets with a 5M ISK skill passive book...
Fix swarms and game lag mechanics, and maybe it will more difficult to be so OP for dropships. |

Ya i hear you man. We had the pleasure of playing STB the day DUST got all the money from Eve so we exp'd the never ending vehicle spam too, you take one out theres another to replace it and it forces you to use half ur team on AV. Like i said, all we can hope for is CCP to learn from this maybe, just maybe get some better balanced tournaments in the future. Cause yes for now, Vehicle spam will win you a corp battle no problem(not to mention whichever corps have stock piled assets up from the Eve->Dust money). |

Seriously good players will allways stick to that what works the best and because this game has alot of vehicles which are very strong they will use that. if you dont stay on a competetive lvl of gear you will get defeated. This here is not COD and your ability to wield a assault rifle is not the game changer in such a large scaled corp match. A corp without dedicated vehicle specialists is at a huge disadvantage.You need to combine all options that you have. We basically combined air support, tanks who can hold positions and ground troops who engage enemy AV troops. And if you watch MLG players they allways stick with that whats the best to use cause they know its not smart to set themself at a disadvantage. |

Your AV game was really good guys and had me hiding a lot. Also you haven't mentioned that you took out 2 tanks? and 3 dropships.
I saw you insta pop Dark multiple times when you hit him, it's not our fault we had you pinned whilst you were trying to get him.
I went 10:1 in a tank and came middle table. Below a tonne of really good infantry guys I might add. So it wasn't all vehicles like you make out. |

The problem is that the CCP reset isk but not vehicles and items obtained with this isk (eve) and it was clearly seen that the seraphim were supported above and victory is only played on it. ...
After it is clear that the turrets are extremely powerful, but the was one shot a heavy that is ca cheat and I hope that the ccp clearly seen;)

I've said it since the beginning the drop ships should not have rocket launchers. Instead they should be using a rapid fire weapon a more powerful HMG perhaps? Same with the tanks. |

Whilst I agree with your post about the turrets needing looking at in the future, the part I've quoted just simply wasn't the case.
We lost 2 tanks I think most and 3 dropships. That's 3 million Isk or there abouts total. I've earned 2mill a day roughly all week playing militia fits in preparation and not cared about my k/d. Possibly more.
Anything we put on the field could easily of been acquired by anyone if they wanted it that bad. That's all I'm saying. |

Can I be painfully blunt here and point out that WTF's dropships never stayed in the air for more than a minute? You can't complain they're OP when we had the exact counters waiting for yours.
I admire WTF's skills. I have to think twice about my game when I see them on a roster, but this should be above players of such talents. |

why restrict your self to only use a vehicle built for one purpose? why not try to find other ways of using it, why just use it for one thing?

Well i used XT-1 fragmented missile launchers on it. Now go look on the turret skills that you need for that plus the light playoad II damage mod for smal missile turrets. And yeh my definition of a dropship is to drop enemy mercs with a missile launcher turret. Oh and ive got 5 million out of the corp wallet to get 12 myrons. You destroyed 3 in that match makes 9 that i got leftover from the corp funding me. And yes our corp wallet has beeing wiped from Eve ISK before this started. |

You have a really good adaptation with what the market offers, and your way to see the game.
BUT, our 2nd match against GAC was just totally different. I don't know how they saw it on their side, but it was "latency playable". And we had the same 15, with the same aptitudes...
Right, GAC are not as good as you are with vehicules, but it was obsviouly a another networking world. |

I told you, I've got no problem with what u used, or the way you used it.
But I can't take out of my mind this question : why the game was so stable against GAC (a EU Corp) on a EU server ? It felt like a game. Against you, it was a war against lag and game playability. It wasn't a game at all, because with the same forces than you on our side, we won't have a any chance either... |

DUST 514 is maybe not the game that I was (some of us were) waiting for... It's closer to BF than to MAG : VPS 1st, FPS 2nd.
But if we check carefully the trailer, all you see is vehicules and heavies... So it's clearly right on the board : all you have to do is being immortal, and just fews options are on the market to aim this as we have so large open maps.
Assault, scouts and logis can just exist in a communication ambush.

Well, I really don't blame SI. And obviously, I didn't see before this morning that you could fit small missile turret prototype on a milicia dropship with so few SPs (WTF?????)... Add a gunner with passives turrets skills, and it's really OS all the time. Well, I'm working on my piloting...
But trust me when I tell you that I aimed a tank with a Forge, HUD was red, standing on the road in front of him (he was aiming C, not me) and bullets just went through !!!
So tell me how was it possible to Sir Meode to make 40+ kills with a dropship everytime in mouvement with same lags that I'd got ???????
Well, I'm sure that you'll have win with a stable game server, and the same organisation we all put in place. BUT you'll have lose more than 2 tanks and 3 dropships.... |

Dropships and tanks are way too easy to get into SP wise if you ask me. Personally I hate tanks and am fast becoming a dropship hater also. Not even going into how little they cost considering thier performance.
Would be nice to see some district bunkers underground or in massive facilitys that the infantry can fight it out in without getting missiled to hell and back.
Also yea nerf small missiles and buff small rail and blasters.

Thing is though, that proto gun on militia assault suit will eat up over half your cpu. It doesnt eat half your cpu on the dropship. dropship can fly in circles with no tank mods needed and avoid getting shot. Militia suit with proto gun has no tank and dies by ground shrapnel flying up into his eye when a missile from dropship lands 10m by him |

The "X" factor was our plan quite frankly.

WTF fielded a couple of tanks throughout the battle I might add, they just couldn't match ours.
We've fought the WTF guys enough that they should know what we have. I've been fighting them all week and they've got good gun game sure, but they seem to have all put their points into gun game like 90% of the dust players. So they got rolled by vehicles and when they hid from them, the ground crew mopped up.
It wasn't like they didn't get any kills. I didn't realise Sha had lost so many vehicles, so the count is more like 4 tanks and 6 dropships.
The simple fact is that they couldn't advance on us whilst we got new ones on the field. Due to our game being good enough to hold them.

disagree i can fit a 17K assault fit that costs me less than my tank considering its "performance" on foot i rarely die in pubs even while using standard gear. I think performance and cost goes both ways and it comes back down to the players skill with said tool.
i have seen some tanks dropped that get blown up rather easily or and even well fit ones go down with a little comms and teamwork.
small missiles do need a nerf i agree SP wise i think both infantry and tanks are just about right |

not the missiles need a nerf its the skills behind them. Just look at the skillbooks small missile turret operation 3% bonus on damage and so on. And dont forget the damage mod. We dont even know if the damage mod comes after the skills to top the allready increased damage or just gets stacked stright with the skillbooks. Like this formula: turret damage X (skillbooks+damage mod)= modfied damage or: turret damage X skillbooks+ damage mod= modified damage
the first formula would grant you more damage compared to the second. Another problem is that ALL turret upgrades are avaible at lvl 1 for turret upgrade skillbook. |
