1. Being able to smack talk your enemy.
2. Listening to all their QQ while they're dead at your feet.
3. You have to be silent when sneaking about, a cough might cost you your life.
4. You can verbally abuse friendly redline snipers.
5. You can tell that bluedot to come join your venture instead of goofing about all the time.
6. We'll eventually get vids of people QQing on proxy.
7. Cross squad communications on the battlefield while being close.
8. It just makes the game alot more fun.

proxy is a good idea for squads would save you having to press a button a close range, but i don't think you should be able to talk to the enemy not really any point, but hearing them talk could be useful. it would have to be a module (audio scanner or something along those lines) for it to work. |

3. You have to be silent when sneaking about, a cough might cost you your life. - But my clone has a dropsuit with a helmet on, its soundproof aswell so no

6. We'll eventually get vids of people QQing on proxy. - Not important at all
7. Cross squad communications on the battlefield while being close. - Maybe the only use for it tbh, if anything should be able to tap into each others comms if on same team

4. You can verbally abuse friendly redline snipers. - Once FF is on then TK instead - Now you can do both!
5. You can tell that bluedot to come join your venture instead of goofing about all the time. - Not if hes sat 500m away on top of a hill - That was hardly my point...
6. We'll eventually get vids of people QQing on proxy. - Not important at all - off course not, still funny though.

I really don't see any problems with it. Its not like you can't press the mute button if things get too bad for you. In other words: Is there any good arguments against it? Why not implement it, it would bring much joy for those who cares about it without any drawbacks for the, well, dunno the English term, we say "drysticks" were I come from.
I'm seriously dissapointed in you Snake, after all, you have some hours in MAG, don't you miss it? |

allows u to talk with blue dots and communicate with them since many wont be on team chat. from a tactics standpoint it is very imp for that reason alone. |

so? not like enemy can hear u from across the map since we havent heard about hacked transmissions yet. if you talk within earshot of the enemy they should hear you.being quiet around the enemy is critical in war. anything that increases communication is great for this gm. |

Been thinking about this for 3 builds.
Any sensible player knows proxy chat is a two-edeged sword, but it can add to the overall game experience in spite of the obvious racist, misogynistic, bigoted, homophobic, generally ignorant greifing potential. I think if we could have proxy without mindless idiosy we'd all go for it.
The solution i like best is for CCP to set up 2 permanent chat channels - 'Proxy - Team' and 'Proxy - All' that we as players can opt in/out of at will. These channels would get piggybacked onto our 'Squad'/'Team' if we were subscribed to those channels.
Seems like a resonable compromise using (mostly)existing game architecture. |

They should have proxy chat in Null security, to add to it's outlands feel. That way you can mess with people in null, get into their heads and what not. <3 proxy chat.

Lol. How about a solution for the current universe? Add a local channel, done. Why bother having the second step of forcing squads to use a private channel, or worse, out of game comms, just to talk in peace? |

Proxy chat is awesome.
You can turn it off in MAG, and a lot of us did in clan battles, but then you can't do the Friday the 13th or Jaws theme as you stalk someone though the foliage in Darien Network, go prone on their corpse, and tell them to, "Squeeeeeeee!". |

Most blue dots don't have mics anyway,so unless the proxy comes out of your TV it has no value.
I thought that proxy would be good, but it just breeds way too much animosity in a game that probably won't need it.
Like someone else said,if you need to trash talk your enemy, invite them to a separate channel for that.

You'd be very surprised how many have mics actually.
you don't hear them or come into contact because the comms set up in this game is truly one of the worst I've come across in an FPS.
If you or anyone else ever played MAG you would know what excellent comms set up can do for a game.
If you haven't, go play it and see for yourself. Then you'll be talking from experience rather than guessing. |
