And I can safely say that the only thing that beats a AR is a tank or another AR.
AR VS. AR Even match
AR VS. Forge gun. Forge gun wins if you can hit the bunny hoppers
AR VS. Sub. Sub dosen't stand a chance to a good shot, and a full clip.
AR VS. Scrambler. If the person using the AR is a scout and has not lvls in mechanics, the scrambler might win if the person using it is a really good shot, and if the scout is not bunny hopping.
AR VS. MD. A very tough match, but still not victorious over a good shot.
AR VS. LAZOR. lol no
AR VS. Nova knives. NO, BAD, BAD IDEA!
AR VS. HMG. Close match. but AR still wins 3 out of 5 times.
AR VS. Shotties. Shotties only win within 5-9 meters
AR VS. Sniper. +100m = sniper wins
AR VS Swarm launcher. lol no... again
AR VS. Grenade. Just run. don't sit there and shoot at it you moron. *yes i have tried to shoot a grenade. No it did not work XD*
AR VS. LAV. May take a while but a couple of clips in it and its done for. And you must use cover or your dead. Oh and if its moving it increases its chances of winning but not by much if your using cover.
AR VS. Drop ship. You cant hit it. And most of the time it cant hit you.
AR VS. HAV. Another bad idea!
This pretty much states that ARs are the best weapon for just about everything. I'm not saying that they are OP, but they are pretty much the dominant gun That out classes everything. If people want this fixed I suggest no't nerfing the AR. Instead just make everything more useful.

It'll stay that way because the community doesn't want differing playstyles. This community seems to think that everyone should be a bunny hopping butt ******* ****** blobbing all over the damn map, while firing walls of bullets at everything so they eventually hit something. Because you can't possibly want to play a FPS and not bunny hop and spray walls of bullets. There's no room in FPS games for snipers, vehicles, anything that isn't an AR. I mean really? Do you think they gonna balance the AR, they are gonna leave it as the only valid weapon to use because that's what all the ****** playing whiny brats want. |

So, you're complaining that the AR - the versatile weapon of the marine - is to good for doing what it's supposed to do..? They are suppose to be good in most situations, they're built for it.
Laser Rifles are made to stay in the back of the squad and rip the shields off any enemy near the end of it's range. If you are finding yourself in CQC fights with it, you're simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Mass Drivers are made for lobbing into crowds, not 1v1ing.
The SMG is a CQC high damage weapon, just need to max out your skills in it and it's beastly (don't go fighting heavies with it).
You seem to understand what shotties are for.
Not sure why you're trying to take an AR user from the front using Nova Knives, you're supposed to *sneak*.
Shouldn't be fighting infantry with a Forge gun.
I apply my above statement to Swarm Launchers.
HMG is for spamming at crowds as LogiBro repairs you, those things rock.

Grenades - you can't shoot them? Thats gay... Wasn't it halo that you could shoot them as they left the hand? Loved raping people with their own Spike Grenades.

Also I disagree about the pistol. Now that it's +1 clip per level on the cheap skill the breach pistol for instance is amazing with 8 shots. does 180 damage a shot I think?
Also lasers are better than AR at range. Lasers are a weird weapon. But in combo with a pistol for up close.
Also Mass drivers counter AR amazing well. I can kill people at 70m with a prototype mass driver. 14m splash radius. I like how you sad it, the mass driver takes a TON of skill to use, so in normal hands the AR is going to come on out top. In the right hands the mass driver is awesome. I just went 14 kills with one : )
Finally while I agree for the most part about the HMG, the brust one is hard to use but basically a close range - medium range shotgun. It's got double the rate of fire, and the spread is tiny. So up close it can be tough, but oh man, it one shots most things if you hit the whole round. You can't spray this weapon mindlessly. |

The way your post is set up makes it sound like a call for balance, when the reality is that it is balanced. AR'r are made for versatility, while many of the other weapons are much more specialized. |

Its ment to be the jack of all trades (to a point) and master of 1 or **** all, currently its master of quite a bit and you can say the same for the assualt suit |

The laser needs a range buff and sorely needs a damage buff and needs to be usefull at ALL RANGES as an ALTERNATIVE to an AR.

HELL NO!! I can grab a high energy laser that runs off a small battery and use it to cut skin at ONE inch distance or in a collimated beam to cut skin at one mile away. I.e. a high energy laser beam hitting a persons eyes? They are SCREWED no matter if its an inch away or a collimated beam from a mile away.
But in THIS GAME a laser up close has magical no damage properties and the beam gets TIRED after 80 meters.........LOL!!!!

Very good observation. Add recoil to the lower tier assault rifles and immediately huge portions of the game will come into alignment.

AR vs submachine gun depends on the distance. at close range forget about the AR. with 20-24.2 damage and 1000-1052.6 rpm, there is no way AR wins. if you add to that side arm sharpshooter and side arm sharpshooter proficiency, sub wins in short and medium short ranges. haven't experimented much with breach subs, so I haven't posted their stats. |

its really the lack of kick, with zero skills put to AR i have a small amount of intial lift on my barrel but after that its good, now that i think about it i think there is kick its just how the mechanic works. i think that the AR kick causes it to raise up from where you were orginally firing for every bullet you fire you get this effect, however the AR shoot so fast that the kick still raises it from the orginal point and holds it at kick hieght until you stop firing.
the easiest way to fix this is make the kick more random, more side to side and up and down while its firing rather than the constant stream of steady kick. |

This thread's eventual TL;DR I think it's ridiculous how the enemy can actually move around so I have to aim at them. I'm not good at aiming and moving around - make the game into a rail shooter. Assault rifles are the most common infantry weapon in the world due to their versatility but I think they should be changed so that they aren't like they actually are because I can't aim and move. |

please do the math....and if you cannot...let me...assault rifles have more DPS then SMGs. But but they shoot faster...like really fast....please before you make some asinine statement do the math....assault rifle runs 375 DPS+ and the SMG is 350+

I do feel as well that the AR is overpowered. But i still don't want it to be nerved. I like the other weapons to have a role, and become better in this role.
Like the swarm launcher, this weapon is a joke, it could pull a drop ship from the sky, but skilling this weapon makes you useless in any other fight. |

hahaha I am sorry, does math scare you? So your scientific method is "go on the field and see what happens." You are right I must conceed, because on thew field you don't have variables at all...no lag, no difference in suit build...I can see why this game can never advance with such logical minds like yourself.
Here's the deal, Math doesn't lie, simple facts, two people of equal builds, one with the devoulle and one with the ishkononwhocareshowitisspelled, the devoulle will win 10/10 times.....why? because it has a higher DPS, period, that isn't even mentioning the fact that the guy with the SMG will likely not reach the AR guy, but up close, ARs still win. I think I am wasting my breath because math and logic must go straight over your head, esp when you have a "feeling" that a gun works better. |

Correct, the use of weapons is in no way evidence of a weapons OPness...it would at best be a case study. I think it is a guy wanting attention because he is bored of playing the game. |
