pretty much ^that^
i had 3 guys literally spamming swarm launchers at a dropship today. all he had to do was circle. nothing fancy, no tight corners around buildings, just circling. the swarm kept following in this circle until they burnt out. no hits were scored during this entire circling fiasco, and no bullshit i personally fired at least 10 swarms at him (sitting on my own nanohive)
before anybody even says it, what does it matter what tier of swarm launcher we were using? it's not an issue of too much / not enough damage, it's an issue of never hitting ever.
also, let me cut you off again before someone calls my aim in to question, you fire it with a lock, how am i gonna **** that up?
i actually even tried firing it at odd angles to "lead" the dropship before the lock kicked in, no effect. they all just line up nicely behind the dropship until they burn out.
pretty terrible really. |

Keep in mind that they were impossible to dodge before. I once did a quick pull up as some swarms skimmed right under my belly, and did a quick roll as they flew past a second time, only to have them 180 and come right back at me. These are one of the few weapons in the game that I really think CCP is gonna have to do serious work balancing. |

I think this is working as intended. It's not like he was able to do anything (except maybe spawn guys from a CRU) up there. You guys basically cancelled each other out. |

I think I was in the same game. I put a post in bugs about it. At the same time there was a dropship post that said almost the opposite of our complaint. Perhaps folks would like to comment on the different opinions :)

this topic is pretty common and what i say here still stands
dropships are on a fine line. i do disagree with the flight ceiling but to a skilled pilot they can keep ahead of kitten rockets at the expense of not being able to kill anyone. they drop down low and try to keep out of sight they will be blasted to bits. |

the thing is though, with such a predictable pattern, his gunners figured it out and WERE able to get kills. they circled over a pair of objectives and basically dominated the structure.
so it wasn't much of an offensive loss for him to evade us as such. |

Pull out a forge gun - 1 Hit = all the swarmers hitting = death. Every weapon has it's use and purpose. If swarmers are a little slow try another weapon, call in an lav or HAV or Dropship of your own (someone on the team) and try something else.

Only solution is a proto Breach Forge gun + damage mods. Kinda sucks that Swarms are almost useless... |
