I do not put it lightly when I say this problem is gamebreaking. I've mainly experienced the framedrops on what I believe is one of the new maps (it has 5 capture point's with 2 inside a large base at the centre/bottom of the map, also containing a tall structure, if my memory serves me).
The problem doesn't happen every game, but if had to guess how often then I'd say between a third and half of the time I play on that map. Generally what happens is that the fps is mostly stable at first, and then I usually start to notice audio issues with the verbal announcements. They can slow down, stutter or even skip completely, half way through the sentence. fps gradually gets worse and I find the game becomes unplayable around 5 or 10 minutes into the match, where I get between 10-20 frames per second and sometimes even less. Once I actually called a dropship at the start of one of these games and I managed to get stuck in midair with less than 1fps and got shot down a couple of minutes later (I think I saw quite a few missiles pass through the ship before I finally went down).
Something I do notice when the framerate issues occur is that my PS3s hard drive indicator is flashing at almost a solid orange. This could mean that my Dust install is partially corrupted, or the HDD is fragmented, but I doubt it since it's mainly this one map where the problems happen. Personally I believe it's the PS3s RAM limitation being reached. Because it's a large map, there are more textures and assets being loaded than usual. The variations in the level of framedrops could be down to the number of players and how many different types of drosuits, weapons and vehicles are being used, which all have an effect on the amount of memory being taken up. But of course only a Dust developer would know for sure if RAM limitations are a likely cause of the issues I'm suffering.
I would be grateful if anybody who's experienced similar problems can speak up, and if a dev could possibly give feedback then that would be great. |

I got the same problems you describing, but I am afraid its not only this map that is causing this. I experienced this also in the maps that were there before this build, one of them is the one where six tall structures are, 3 on each side, map is surrounded by mountains, in the middle are several smaller structures. Another one is the one with the Caldari Outpost in the middle and around are some smaller structers and terrain is flat. But this is happenning mostly everywhere where is lot points to capture, somewhere less somewhere more. I also noticed, and this is really weird.. that before deployment when all capture points are flashing the framerate is really low and then when I confirm my deployment to some location and all capture points stop blinking, everything is really smooth again. Could it be caused by UI also?. Overall framerate issue is also probably caused by new smoke and fog effects. As the gameplay progresses there is more and more framerate lag and slower texture loading which can be really frustrating. |

Yeah I have experienced frame drops on other maps as well, it's just that the new map was the one that stood out to me as becoming completely unplayable. I have noticed textures failing to load occasionally as well, sometimes even when the fps is ok, but a game without textures is still at least playable, so it's less of a concern to me. |

Yes the textures are appearing slower aswell as the game progresses, but the framerate issues are more of a concern I think if those textures were actually saving and stayed there forever then there would be only little to process for the ps3 such as player dropsuits and vehicles. |

I no longer play either the new large complex, or the 5 objective map due to horrible frame rate, which gets worse as the game goes on. Everyone is experiencing it, but it seems some faster than others. I only last 30 seconds before it starts to drop, and it gets to 1 frame per minute I'd say. Also constantly solid Harddrive light too. |

DO NOT TRY TO BUY ANYTHING FOR A SUIT THAT WENT INVALID WHILE IN GAME.... the three times i tried did this framerate drop thing... it seems to be a ps3 problem as even the xmb menu was affected along with my comms....
I thought it was due to my ps3 saying my routers UPnP was not available even though it clearly is. |

i do not play the large 5 point skirmish map. anyone i play with we all agree to leave. this is usually due to hard freezes in this map.
this map does have lag and mini freezes, frame rate issue? idk just severe lag and freeze issue. |

I think the lag that most seem to be experiencing in this build (Codex) is client-side, which would mean that the console is having a hard time processing all the data white delivering a smooth gaming experience. As for the heavy disk I/O, I can only guess but I doubt that in most cases it's from either a corrupt install or a fragmented drive. |

This. The lag/stuttering/framerate what-have-you becomes game breaking. I get this map, I quit battle now. |

I am also having varying game breaking frame-rate problems. Sometimes when I join a match (so far has been mostly on one of the new maps in Ambush) from the very start my frame-rate is like 1 FPS, at best. Takes me a few minuets just to bring up the neocom, and another few minuets just to attempt to select "leave battle". Although even when I reach the leave battle option, pressing X does nothing, and I have to hard-reset my PS3 to restart the game.
Other frame-rate problems are just as bad. A lot of times I can join a match and the FR is buttery smooth, but by the end of the match I would be lucky to be getting 1 frame per 10 seconds. This has happened to me on the old maps, I think it has only been during skirmish.
Overall, this is killing the game experience for me (among other severely annoying bugs, like the end-game score board never loading up). I am lucky to land a few matches relatively lag free and without any major frame-rate problems, and the more I play the worst the frame-rate gets.
The game is really fun without severe lag and frame-rate issues, but I fear this problem will be around for a long time cause it is not likely something that can be fixed server-side, a new build would be required. Which may not be for 1 or 2 months, sadly. |

Bump, it actually doesn-¦t happen on the new map, the one with a space ship (or it looks like one to me) ready to launch and A,B,C,D,E really near to it , but it does in the one that only has the launch frame with the objectives far apart from each other.
Can this be the problem that skyrim had with the ps3, not enough RAM to create and keep everything on the map? |

Seems like RAM problems, leading to swapping and hence to lags. In my humble opinion, nothing will help if you can't squeeze everything needed on a map to RAM. |

CCP we beg you to look on this because this is far more serious issue than that some weapon ha bigger dmg, that can be done in one simple step... Please answer at least to some of these threads describing similar issues with framerate, its serious and frustrating.! -¦-¦
Edit: We would really like to tell you how cool the new maps look now, but its hard with so much tearing and low fps. Btw those new maps are sweet. |

I'd describe it more as severe lag on the 5 point skirmish map as the lady who tells you about points getting taken cannot even complete her sentences. but yea I leave that map when it pops.. I can't shoot anyone with my shotgun the lag is so bad. |

I'd advise a reboot instantly or give your PS3 time to cool down. Imo it's being put under massive duress due to bad coding, hence the huge frame rate drops.
I'm pretty sure it's been the coffin nail for my fat 60Gb PS3 tbh. |

I have also had this issue on larger skirmish maps. The voice reading out updates on objectives even gets to the point of stuttering/saying one word and then starting to say something else. |

At this point with no response from CCP, I'm refusing to play skirmish until it's resolved and so it seems is most of my corp.
The problem exists in the new maps on ambush mode also, but the amount of frame rate stutter and FPS drops from playing the ambush version is minimal in comparison.
CCP, please remove these big maps from skirmish until they are fixed, they are breaking everyone's game at present. |

i only get it on skirmish with objectives, never really notice frame rate/lag issues on ambush.

hopefully a dev will say something if it is a known issue with the map or what. but i never play the 5 point skirmish unless its the newest one as i dont have issues on it. |
