I think the swarm launcher has to be the most accurate. The amount of people I have seen let a round go and they just stand there... watching...... waiting....
Personally, I think the shotgun should be:

Shortly followed by....

Haha when I tell people I use the shotgun, I'm usually told "Shotgun sucks because you can't one shot people" and then when asked skills they leveled up for it, I just end up face palming.
Shotgun is tricky, you really gotta work to stay in close quarters all the time without camping, and when are you close you need to be skillful enough to know where and went to shoot (because this is Dust and we need to lead our targets when they're 5m away). I think a lot of people pick it up thinking it'll be EZ mode,not realizing you need a lot of skills trained to make it really effective and even then its difficult to use in a lot of situations due to how horrifically bad the range is.
Even so the only time I get irritated when I'm killed while using the shotgun is when I get picked off from some crazy range by a sniper, but even then its more irritation for myself for allowing him to line up that shot. |

Assault Rifle: When you just want to shoot things and don't want to have to worry about range, accuracy, or any of that. Or when you just don't care about thinking, and want to shoot stuff. Special props for that stupid 'tactical' one that requires you to click for EACH AND EVERY SHOT. I think I bought a stack of 10 to try them out, and I still have 9... The burst one is cool, though. Mad props go to CCP for fixing this since last patch, where it barely had more range than an SMG. Now it's ALMOST up to real-world AR specs... 
SMG: Because I like my bullets ceasing to exist past 6 meters... but hey, what else are you going to use for a Sidearm, anyway? The best part is that the default Militia one CAN'T ACTUALLY KILL ANYONE with its tiny clip, instead leaving them with a sliver of health while they murder you in irritation at your choice of weapon.
Shotgun: Because, I figured if I'm going to have a short range gun, it might as well DO SOMETHING, unlike the SMG. Sure, it has half the range, but it only takes one or two shots, tops. Of course, each time you miss with it is like shoving a knife in your own gut, because you KNOW that other guy is going to kill you. Now, if only it were a Sidearm...
Scrambler: The sole reason you make alternate starter fits, because while it has range, it is inferior to the SMG in all other aspects, but some chucklehead thought it would go good on, say, the base Sniper fit (look ma, I can snipe at short range! Blor-hor-hor!).
Mass Driver: Because I want my enemies to scratch their heads trying to figure out weird weapon they just died from for the very first time in their Dust experience...
HMG: I don't care about damage. I care about the enemy voiding his bowels when he hears the evil whine of the gun firing and sees the bullet stream. You know, before he realizes his AR does more damage... or before he realizes it takes me about three DAYS to reload the stupid thing and just hides out until I have to, then runs up and murders me with extreme hillarity.
Forge Gun: Because it's funny having a charge up weapon that does ludicrous damage... if you can hit with it. Since it's designed to hit vehicles, good on em! It was kinda hillarious how they made a version that shoots faster but can't hold the charge, and another that requires about half an hour to charge up and DOESN'T LET YOU MOVE while this is happening... cause I'm sure THAT didn't make enough people mad. On the downside, when my .5 mil ISK tank gets blown up by the latter, I just quietly select "Leave Game" in utter shame...
Laser Rifles: They need to come out soon. I'm tired of humping these stupid Nanohives everywhere...
Grenades: Why is it whenever I try to run some fool over in my Zero ISK Death-Buggy, they ALWAYS seem to magically have AV grenades? And why is it when I toss an anti-infantry grenade it has about a 2-inch explosion radius but everyone else's has about a 10 meter one, EVEN WHEN IT'S THE SAME GRENADE TYPE? Blech.
Swarm Missiles: Hey look, I've got this gun that's really really good at mulching vehicles but is useless against anything else. OF course, if I equip it, there won't BE any vehicles. And if I don't, the skies will be filled with Dropships and the ground will be infested with Gunnlogi, at least until I die and respawn with the thing and then they'll all vamoose like mice in a cartoon....
