Everyone has there own individual Benchmark .
I Left my Clan that id been with since i first got PS3 becuase Black ops ruined my FPS experience.
Battlefield 3 is my benchmark, awesome fluidity of movement and a solid team strategic feel.
I want the Dust Dream to live forever though, Its concept is so bloody Epic. |

Why can't someone be disappointed with a game in beta? I am testing 3 other betas on my very mediocre PC and they are all better then Dust.
It's not about a game begin in beta, it's about being a good game even in beta. |

Major Assitch wrote:I waited months and months for this game and jumped immediately when the beta became available for $20 just to get a glimpse of what Dust might be. I gotta say, if it's gonna be anything similar to this, I'm terribly disappointed!
I got in the beta a couple months ago and was disappointed then. People in this forum kept telling me it would improve...well...it hasn't! They said that build was just bad...well....this one is too! In fact, I really see no improvements or changes from 2 months ago. I said back then that the beta we were playing would be basically the same game we would be playing and I still think that's true.
For all the time they had to plan and build this thing they sure have farted on it. At it's very most this could be considered a low grade-shooter worthy of being a $4.99 DLC that gets played for a week tops. I just see no possible way for them to make any money on this garbage.
Regardless of minor changes that will be made between now and release, this is the core game that wil be released, and it's just really pathetic!
I wish I could get my $20 back! well your falt for paying $20 when in ps home you can get beta for free or singed up for beta on website dust514.com and gotten it for free that way to |

It's threads like these that makes me look at ccp and say "see, you should have kept it properly closed beta from idiots like this" now this is the kind of guy who considers "I can play this game therefore it's released" and I'm pretty sure a lot of gamers out there are like that.
the annoying thing is that it taints public perspective on the game, he will tell his friends who haven't played it how **** the game is, they will lose interest.
I would say I'm glad because I don't like your kind of gamer in this beta, but your friends may not be like you and it's gonna be a shame not getting to kill them - maybe they'll have common sense and not listen to you. |

^^^ As for "tainting public perspective" CCP also invited journalist in the beta for previews. I think they did it for a reason and not because they thought it was inappropriate to do it. |

I dropped $20 on the merc pack AFTER joining the BETA for a FREE TO PLAY game, and I consider it money well spent if I can contribute to making a game I believe in, even better. That's what, 4 cups of coffee from Starbucks? I'll just use a coffee maker.
As for the game, I agree that I'm disappointed in the gunplay mechanic. Graphics, textures, and everything else are actually better than I expected. That's because textures, layers, and the finishing graphics are all window dressing, require massive amounts of time to render, and are typically the last things to be applied before official release. Trust me, you don't want a fully rendered game that has massive bugs. If you had it, you would have quit 1 month and 3 1/2 weeks ago.
The main issue with the game, it's the gunplay mechanic and interaction. I agree that it needs MAJOR work before release, and I'm interested to see what the new build does to improve upon it. The COD franchise (I can't comment on BF3 or Killzone as I haven't played them) has a great gunplay mechanic. I'm not referring to the structure or content of the game, but the weapons fire tracking, transition from hip fire to ADS, ADS itself, and movement while in ADS. Gun handling, itself.
That's the main thing I see here that needs work, and I would be interested in hearing how BF3 and Killzone's gunplay mechanic are different from COD. I also can't wait for the new build to see if they heard the cries from these forums.
As for the BF3 "open beta" that was released, I played it and that was not a beta in my book. As was mentioned before, it felt more like a glorified demo made to look like a beta.
As a side-note, posting in the BETA forum saying you're leaving is nothing more than an attempt to garner attention, in my opinion. You are not the first, nor will you be the last to exit stage left. I, for one, have no problem playing multiple games at once, and I relish the thought of helping to put another quality game on the market for others to enjoy.
Happy gaming... |

Major Assitch wrote:...Right now this thing is boring! ... It was boring 2 months ago and it's still boring. If they don't start focusing on the shooter aspect of it soon then it's going to stay boring.
Can you elaborate on what about the game you find boring?
What shooter aspects are you referring to? There are many.
Major Assitch wrote: Telling others who have a disgreeable opinion to yours to leave isn't going to make this thing any better. It's exactly those people who the developers need to hear because they (we) will be the deciding factor whether it makes any money or not.
Fair enough. But it would be extremely more useful to explain what you find wrong with the game than simply stating "It's boring.". They looking for CONSTRUCTIVE criticism here. Not just criticism.
Major Assitch wrote: I see no way to make this thing into a decent game at this point.
Why not? Just express what you think should be done to improve things.
Major Assitch wrote: Much work needs done in order to make this game exciting and enjoyable....it's about time they started doing that work!
Such as..... ? (still waiting to hear constructive criticism here)
Major Assitch wrote: As for what I've seen over 2 months of work on it I'm just a little less than confident that it's going to be an enjoyable game on release and aside from some really rave reviews from trusted friends, I wouldn't bother spending anything on it...and I'm not the only one!
And we still don't understand WHY you think it will not be enjoyable. What do you find enjoyable in other games that you're not experiencing here?
If you're able to answer any of the above questions, then THAT is the type of feedback that CCP is asking for.

Lol. Well were they as complex as Dust is and will be? I argued in another thread that it's easy to understand but complex overall. They're trying to bind it together with a balanced system. And yeah, from what you're saying this and the betas you have been to were two completely different things. In the last few weeks one patch has changed the community's stance and how battles were played. One patch. The next build will be bringing in more stuff.
Seriously. The Starhawk Beta barely did anything in game except give us new equipment and fix a couple of lag issues. In this Beta they are gradually giving to us more and more while fixing the current problems.
I feel for your twenty dollars but it's a beta that needs a lotta fixing bro. So far the game has been fun for me even with such limited (comparing it to what's has been confirmed to be in store), and broken areas.... |

Funny that a lot of people don't understand that dust beta...ccp is basically using gamers for free, instead of paying testers. They had a single map a couple guns, and a few other bits...and said "screw it let's open a beta and not pay testers!".extremely rough and is going to get vastly improved :).
And this isn't COD any more than eve is WOW lol. |
