Because each dropsuit type is manufactured by different corporations from different races, they should therefore have varying HUD graphics and coloring for their health meter, stamina meter, ammo meter, and minimap. This would really add a sense of variety which would keep the game from getting stale visually.
Amarr: Crusader (coming SOON) and Heavy dropsuits would have a golden ornate Amarr HUD graphics.
Gallente: Pilot (coming SOON) and Scout dropsuits should have a bluegreen HUD with curvy rounded graphics.
Minmatar: Logistics dropsuit should have orange or red graphics similar to Minmatar tattoos.
Caldari: Assault dropsuit should have something with white or blue angular graphics.
This isn't a big priority right now, but something that would be good for the future. |

Awesome suggestion.
It would probably influence some player's racial choice.
This seems like a tiny detail but its what adds to the "feel" of the game. |

Perhaps there could be some small minor variations in HUDs of dropsuits from the same race, nothing major, just something to signify that they are made from different manufacturers from that race (unless they are made from the same manufacturer). |

I'd really like the ability to buy custom HUD as well ... imagine if you could custom install a HUD from the market, it would be a gimmick, I know but I wouldn't mind throwing 10-15 AUR towards a Killzone 3 themed Hud, or MGS HUD, etc.
Different HUDs would have different layout and sizes for certain things, just small things like that so you can choose a HUD that works best for you, with the info you want located where you like it, at the best size, etc. |

Despite my race I would like a custom HUD. Being a merc means using what works even if there is higher rated gear or racially oriented gear. I'll use whatever I want to get the job done, be it a laser rifle or a nail gun - but the nails are more fun :) |

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say, but I am not suggesting your race decides your HUD, I am suggesting your current dropsuit decides your HUD, so you can change your HUD by changing your dropsuit. |

AUR HUDs would be pretty cool as well.
HUD variety keeps things from looking fresh so we don't end up getting tired of looking at the same thing, and eventually contributing to getting tired of Dust. |

I like the idea, but I have a question concerning the EVE lore involved. Caldari = assult right? Minmatar = Logistics? Does this mean that the Caldari don't have their own logistics suit? And if they do, shouldn't there be a trait or performance difference between the two?
Because the way I see it your normal suits you buy would be from whatever side you are on. They could let us buy gear made by other races at a price to let us take advantage of the best traits on gear all the races have to offer. That would add a LOT of diversity.
In short I think there should be trait differences between each piece of gear, not just an HUD difference in certain dropsuits. |

I remember CCP mentioning something about dropsuit symmetry, that is each race having a version of each type of dropsuit. I think it will come later, but might be while after release.
There isn't much info out about it, but I'm certain that racial variants of the same suit type will definitely have different traits. |
